my call came today for the appointment, while I was sleeping. my dad didn't think it was important so he didn't take any of the four that she opened up. I hope there's some still left in the morning :(
heh, missed a similar call today while away from my phone for a minute. feels bad had new voicemail too, and forgot the password for a few hours too, which v:v:v
Padded/Stuffed bras and plenty of patience for hair to grow. Simples!
Oh that one's easy, I meant everything else.

If I did end up getting the appointment I just need to pass the interview and HRT is just a couple days away.
What do you look like? There are some obvious things you could do to look more masculine that are fairly simple if you want to.
I just have a really feminine shape. I think taking hormones and stuff is the only thing that would work at this point.
I'd love to have a feminine shape. My body and everything is just too big and my face is square :C
This is my favourite thread
hello, I'm a ftm transgender. I've always passed for a boy so I was alright, but now I'm getting too old, my voice is too high and my body is too feminine and no one sees me as male anymore. I feel depressed and dysphoric all the time :( Anyway I just wanted to say hi. You all seem pretty nice!
Heya, just a question, how old are you? :D
I just have a really feminine shape. I think taking hormones and stuff is the only thing that would work at this point.
You'd be amazed, I feel sorry for you though since most FtM's need breast reduction surgeries. It's a harder path but equally as worth it, I imagine.
My mum managed to get me an appointment on April 9th at 9:00 AM. Thank god.
My mum managed to get me an appointment on April 9th at 9:00 AM. Thank god.
Hope it goes okay, and goodluck!
Hope it goes okay, and goodluck!
As far as I know it's basically just a screening to make sure I'm not faking. After this I should be able to go to the endocrinologist and get my hormones.

It took me about 6 months of going to my therapist to get the okay for HRT. (Congratulations though!)
I got an appointment with my counselor on Monday and we're going to be writing a letter to the military, along with sending them some documents from the psychiatrist in order to get exempt from mandatory service. After all that is over, I can finally put my mind at ease and focus on finals at school and getting hormones later.
Almost 20 now. Yeah, from what my doctor told me the whole process sucks basically and I have no idea how I'm ever gonna afford surgery :c
I heard that surgery for FtMs has less than desirable results. I feel bad for you guys. [editline]29th March 2012[/editline]
That fast? It took me about 6 months of going to my therapist to get the okay for HRT. (Congratulations though!)
I'm not entirely sure, as the websites and stuff that I check all say it's just an interview. Though I bet it's longer than that unfortunately :( Still not entirely sure what I'm going to do for high school. [editline]29th March 2012[/editline] Another thing I forgot to add is that if I DID get a referral to an endo I wouldn't even have to wait months I believe. Oh if only my GP had knowledge of the whole process, he could have prescribed them on the spot.

And don't worry about highschool. I wish I started out that early. The changes aren't going to be noticeable at first, except to you, since they're psychological, and maybe your body hair getting thinner/takes longer to grow. And if someone other than you notices that without you telling, then they're creepy as hell. What grade of highschool are you in right now?
I heard that surgery for FtMs has less than desirable results. I feel bad for you guys.
Yeah, most guys end up not going for bottom surgery as far as I know. And congrats on getting HRT :) wow we usually have to go through 2 years of gender therapy before we even get access to hormones here.
I heard that surgery for FtMs has less than desirable results. I feel bad for you guys.
i'd say mtf reassignment surgery is equally as bad. you can't get the real thing or anything close to the real thing with surgery at the current time.
i'd say mtf reassignment surgery is equally as bad. you can't get the real thing or anything close to the real thing with surgery at the current time.
I have to disagree. The MtF Vagina is impressive, it's not going to function the same, no chance of having kids with our current progress but it fools most gynecologists. From a visual perspective, it's perfect. Functionally, not yet but it's getting there.
9th actually so I'm right in the middle of intolerance city.
Yeesh good luck with that. I don't know what school is like here in the US, but I've heard they're pretty bad when it comes to people picking on others and such. All I have to say is brave through it. It's almost the end of the year, and it's going to take a while till you physically change. Maybe at the end of 10th, or in 11th grade. Hopefully people will start maturing. If not, don't let anything anyone say get to you. Before you know you'll graduate and you'll be home free. :D

I haven't tried to come out to any of the women though, but I really want to.
My parents' insurance has apparently run out. My dad is getting a separate plan through his work, but we don't know if it's going to cover my HRT. Fuck, I've been working at this for two years. How much would it cost to pay out-of-pocket in the US? Does anyone have a clue?

Could be the prices on inhousepharmacy or something.
Congrats HorizoN!
Don't get your hopes up. I'm terrible at talking to therapists or really anyone that isn't on the internet, so I could very well fail the interview.
why are you ALWAYS so pessimistic
Don't get your hopes up. And at least you've got that far. My mum asked me if I'd like her to phone the doctor for me and I said nothing so she suggested I just go in and make an appointment on the way home from university. Which I just couldn't do myself :( Also she asked me about 10 seconds after I'd woken up which I would argue is definitely the worst time to ask anybody anything. I've agreed to bad tuna sandwiches at that time. Heck, I've been told my grandma had died at that time and not remembered. All it achieves is totally wiping my dreams from my memory so I can never ever remember them.
