I already know of a support group but I'm absolutely terrified of talking to people. It's the main reason why it took me years to finally break the news to my mom and why I don't have that many friends. I can be an interesting person once you get to know me but I just have lots of lots of fear about talking to people.
You should try to overcome this while you're still in school. It doesn't get much easier later on, so it's good to be prepared... I don't know how old you are, but drinking helps. A lot. I'm not saying you should become an alcoholic, but when you get drunk, you learn how easy and fun it can be talking to people, so the next time it won't be so difficult to do it while sober.
Thank you c: to everyone who said stuff (Hint: Spironolactone(I.E. The Anti-Androgen) Taste like really bad mints! :v:)
I'm really happy for you [editline]22nd February 2012[/editline]
I don't know how old you are, but drinking helps. Well, I guess I've decided. As soon as I get the chance, I'm going with HRT and in the future, SRS.
Social anxiety can be overcome if it's not incredibly crippling. I used to have no friends whatsoever, and I spoke to no one, not even my parents. But I just decided that I was sick of that kind of life, so I forced myself to have conversations with people. Even if I didn't like them, I tried to speak with them as often as possible. And that worked well for me. I can speak to people with virtually no problems, and I have quite a few friends now. This may not be the answer for you, but it certainly helped me quite a bit, and I feel that I'm in a much better mental state now. And yes, it is 2:00 AM here. Feel free to send me a PM or something if you'd like to talk some time.
I don't know. I've never really been diagnosed with SA, maybe it's just me being a terrified little coward or something. I shouldn't really drink, it seems that lots of bad stuff happens when people around here drink. Someone died recently actually.
Ah I see. If I were you I'd just try to wait middle school out. High school is sooo much better than elementary. People are much more mature, and you have a great opportunity to meet new friends. But yeah you shouldn't drink if you don't want to (especially at that age).

Can't stand the smell let alone taste of regular beer or anything though.
i feel like saying this because i feel like someone isnt sure if they're trans because of this: you can be a woman and trans and still have a penis or vice versa for trans men (ignore this if it was completely stupid)
I just spent about 50 dollars on this site. http://www.sockdreams.com/_pages/index.php I regret nothing. (they're so comfy)
Any UK equivalents?
Oh gosh, I don't know. I think they ship to the UK, Not sure how much it'll cost, though.

Couldn't concentrate at all today. I don't even know what my mind was going on about. But we're going to have a full week of sex ed. Anyone know if maybe I could get a letter of exclusion possibly? I really don't want to go to that class.

Gah I came so close to saying it when one of my more tolerant and understanding friends asked what was wrong with me. She's a nice person really.

The other 10 % are just one or two "fun" lessons where you talk about shit everybody already knows (how does a condom work!?). It really isn't anything remarkable. Of course things could be different over seas, but I wouldn't count on it.

Pretty uncomfortable in there.
Sex education to me was just the "sit around, pay no attention to anything and draw shit" class because it's so obvious and dumb and pointless.

I played video games but it was still annoying to hear [editline]22nd February 2012[/editline] Oh, the girls class in P.E. had my favorite teacher as a sub and did something way better than basketball, which is what we did today :(

My school made it seem all intense and secret. The room we walked into had the lights off, and they had to have one of our male teachers stand by the door to make sure no girls accidentally came in or watched through the window (girls and boys were separated). We basically just watched a video about what a penis is and then asked questions. No one asked questions. This was in elementary school. Oh, and, yeah no mention of anything other than heterosexual relationships.
Wow. Again, opposite here. We dedicated a lot of time to that specific subject. We watched videos and things. We even had two gay people visit our class and talk.
Well this is north america.
Have an appointment with my endocrinologist in an hour or so. Hopefully going to increase my dose! Oh yes, I'm on hormones if you all didn't know.
it makes me depressed but yet happy for people that get hormones. [editline]23rd February 2012[/editline] mostly depressed though
