• What's your dream goal after High School?

I want to follow in the footsteps of my ancestors and become a pioneering necronaut.
Attend college in Virginia and after graduating hopefully get accepted to one of the major companies in California that I wish to work at and move there.
Have a wife, make her happy. Hopefully make me happy too.
Put together a makerspace with a group of people, and build cool shit. We'll have a wood shop, a metal shop, an electronics bench, and anything else people want to add.
Well I'm in college now and on track to become a freelance graphic designer/photo manipulator, which is my dream job.
I still want to fly helis commercially, no idea where I will get 60 grand from, though. :pwn:

I'd love to write comics or work in animation. I'd also really like to work for the post office for some period of time, because for some reason I really like the mail? Idk. I also wanna go on a life-changing road trip. Or a regular road trip, really I'd be happy with either one as long as I get to sleep or ride in a car late at night. I wanna spend a couple of days at the beach with some friends, even though I don't really have any friends close enough to go with. I'd like to get some closer friends, actually. I have a lot of acquaintances, but not a lot of people I could really call friends. I wanna work through some of my problems and try to get better in general. Getting an apartment would be cool, especially if it's in the apartment complex my brother lives in at the moment, even if he and his family move into a house before I get there. The place is right off of main street, which I really like? There's a ton of places I'd like to travel to. I want to wear a bikini at some point. I've only ever worn one piece bathing suits and tank-top bikinis, but I'd like to give regular bikinis a shot. I'd also like to cut my hair short and finally really learn to wear makeup and bolder clothes without looking like a total dork.
What's the 60 grand for? Licensing?
Yep, it will be roughly 10 grand for the private license and then 50 or so to get the hours needed for a commercial one. I just hope I can get scholarships.
So recently, I came to imagine what will my future hold for me now that my 16th birthday is coming up. Succeeding has always been a big thing for me because I always wanted to make my whole family proud, including myself. My goal is to -Find an easy, least stressful job. -Get my driver's license. -Start acing in my grades, taking ACTs. -Get my High School diploma -Get the money needed for College -After 4 years of College try to find some fancy apartment where I can live at. -Eventually settle for an animation or writing career. -Basically start a family of my own. With the house of course. That's my main frame of the goal after High School. It helps to brainstorm your plans, so what's your main goal guys?
You don't need a degree if you want to be a writer. Just write.
You don't need a degree if you want to be a writer. Just write.
I'm pretty sure that if you want to be a good writer you probably need a good education in how to write properly.
I hope i can get into politics, anything actually as long as it doesn't have anything to do in making code or making art, or cleaning junk
Well first thing I'm gonna do is get my driver's license and a vehicle of some sort. Maybe look for a part-time job somewhere and start saving up some money. Once I have my license I'll look for apprenticeships with local electricians. If that goes well and I like the work, then once I complete my apprenticeship I'll become a self-employed electrician and work whenever I want without ever worrying about having work because I'm an electrician. From there, I'll start becoming as self-sufficient as possible. I'll grow my own food, maybe raise livestock but I think thats a stretch, build my own things, etc. Then if I haven't found somebody to love by then I'll just hope my lack of experience with girls and relationships in general in highschool doesn't fuck me over in that regard. I still haven't decided where I want to go though, Colorado is quite appealing right now but things may change by the time I'm ready to move out.
I want to be a voice actor. That's my dream job.

Get into the film industry and work my way up to becoming a cinematographer, and eventually a director of my own major film.
I'm pretty sure that if you want to be a good writer you probably need a good education in how to write properly.
You're wrong. Off the top of my head.. Harper Lee? John Grisham? That old guy who wrote Chromosome 6 whose name I can't think of? J.K Rowling? None of them majored in writing. One of them is a medical doctor, one of them has a bachelor's in French, etc. You can write without a writing degree. I rest my case.
Didn't know what I wanted to do after high school except that I wanted to live somewhere flatter and warmer. Naturally, I'm in college somewhere high up in the mountains during one of the worst winters in decades for another year. :v:
I'm pretty sure that if you want to be a good writer you probably need a good education in how to write properly.
That's like saying you need to go to art school to be a good artist. You don't need anyone to teach you, just do it a lot. A lot of well known authors didn't explicitly get an education in creative writing. George R R Martin just started writing from an early age. Tolkien studied language more than he ever did how to write. Isaac freakin' Asimov studied the sciences more than literature. A common trait among good writers is less whether or not they went to school for how to write well, but more that they read a lot and developed an interest in it.
What's stopping you from becoming a military heli pilot for the experience and some decent money first?
I tried joining the Marines right after school ended, but that didn't work out because I said shit I didn't mean to MEPS. I am thinking that I might try to get in shape again, and try joining a different branch though, since it's super hard to get into the Marines. I did good on the ASVAB, but I don't know if my scores expired yet, which will suck because I have pretty much forgotten how to do algebra. I was thinking of an MOS in something with helis or at least transportation at the time though. :v:
Head to college for 4 years then hoping to get a job working PR with my childhood summer camp. Hopefully get a house on the property all the while looking to get a lot of my poetry published into some kind of book.
I graduated high school in 2011 and my life has been pretty great.
- become a music journalist for Noisey or something - or start a band and make a living off of that - live in a cool smallish penthouse where i can play a bunch of instruments and have a music room and not piss neighbours off - drive a BMW or something - fuck the moon
Man I'm in college and I'm at a point of my life where I've given up on all my "dream goals" and I have no clue where my life is going.
i want to: -become a web developer/designer. (almost done) -get my drivers license (almost done) -get a girlfriend. -get a car. -start a company and make cheap websites. -travel around the globe and do a lot of road trips.
not be a loser
study medicine Oh wait.... :v:
Is it possible for you to not wave your doctor dick around? Granted it is relevant here but jesus man give it a rest sometimes OT I would love to be able to support myself with my writing and drumming. To be in a globally touring band and be able to write about it would be the best thing ever
Not in High School anymore, but engineering basically. Help design innovative systems, robots, that sort of stuff.
