I think that 1024 MB generates too much thermal paste on the HDD, so removing ~200 MB from your max system config limit regulates GPU activity to a level acceptable to both the system architecture and the 35 Mbps DNS connectivity
But 1023MB are a gigabyte and 23 megabyte. this joke doesn't really work unless I am confusing something.
Historically, computer science has used powers of two instead of powers of ten. In the context of data (bits or bytes), "kilo" refers to 2^10 (1024), "mega" to 2^20 (1048576, or 1024K), and so on. However, this has been disputed. Hard drive manufacturers in particular use the base-10 units - that's why you buy a 250GB hard drive and only get 225GB of space. But almost everyone else uses base-2 units. And then the IEC had to wade into the debate and make up some really *STUPID*-sounding terms - kibibyte, mebibyte, gibibyte, etc. Those explicitly use the base-2 multipliers, but most people try to avoid them (and it still doesn't help for acronyms - is 1023MB "1023 megabytes" or "1023 mebibytes"?). Although their usage seems to be growing in Europe (no stranger to stupid words). Long story short, unless you're a hard drive manufacturer trying to inflate your numbers or a pedantic European, a gigabyte is 1024 megabytes.
A gigabyte consists of 1000 megabyte A gibibyte consists of 1024 mebibyte I mean isn't that the reason why a HDD that is advertised to have 1tb or 1000gb has 931g(i)b instead?
what are you trying to say
But 1023MB are a gigabyte and 23 megabyte. this joke doesn't really work unless I am confusing something.
He actually isn't wrong. Standards dictate that one gigabyte consists out of 1000 megabytes. One gibibyte on the other hand consists out of 1024 mibibytes. Check out the table on the right side if you don't believe me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte#Unit_symbol

My attempt to keep LMAO Pics full of lmao pics instead of byte discussion has failed.
Gibibyte and Tebibyte are the most retarded sounding things I've ever heard of.
Well, kilo, mega and giga are decimal prefixes used for all kinds of units. Why should they suddenly indicate another value just because they're being applied to a binary system? That's why kibi (mix of kilo and binary) etc. was invented.
Gibibyte and Tebibyte are the most retarded sounding things I've ever heard of.
I think it sounds cute.
