I've often thought about joining the military. The Australian military forces aren't very big though.
Isn't that the U.S. Air Force? :P
No. The Navy and Air Force both have planes, with the army having most of the helicopters.
OP consists of a bunch of retarded "inb4" crap. [editline]01:36PM[/editline] This isn't discussion material, it's a damn facebook status.
I seriously don't understand what's what all of military forces? For what are they preparing for? Either way, when one soldier joins,it will be at least one life less, someone will kill him,or he will kill someone. I'm a lover, not a fighter :3:.
Well I don't know about how things are in Canada, but serving in the armed forces in the USA looks really good for future employers, especially if you have medals and shit. I'd say it might be a good idea. You get free training in whatever your specialty is.
I've seen the Canadian military. I laughed.
What? Did a plane full of Canadians crash there or something?
They tried to use there plane made out of wood chips again
Thread title icon just fits.
ugh, the ban hammer? =.= Lol I really am mad, Im an American but I despise people who say "cAnAdAaNian MilItryz iS pOoPy"' If you again compare the percentage of population to military, their casualties in afghanistan are about the same.
Please don't pull nonsense out of your ass, It's very bad.
Canada's military is roughly the same size per person as America's. The Canadian forces has about 100,000 active members and reserves, and the United States Army has about 1,000,000. Considering America's population is 10x that of Canada, and the armed forces are 10x that of Canada's, they make up roughly the same volume of population :)
That's not what Fox News told me!
Isn't that the U.S. Air Force? :P
I guess you've never heard the term "AIRCRAFT CARRIER".
Yes, join the Military and help abstain World Peace. :downs:
Haha! Its funny cause Canada doesn't have a military.
Good for you. It's a good career choice. Especially the engineers. I've been looking into the Royal Engineers myself. 4 years in the Army, leave with a trade.

Oh hey it's that guy that put some pencils in his mouth.

Leopards are so awesome.
When I think about it, there's a huge range of jobs available in the military.
My cousin was in the Canadian military. Broke his arm in Afghanistan when his Humvee hit an IED and flipped over. If this sounds like fun to you, join up.
hf signing your death warrant

Tom Green is a washed up loser.
'Fraid you can't do that. Sniping is one of the missions frontline infantry have. So unless you want to get shot, no. Missions can be like demolitions, sabatoge, sniping, etc.
As far as im aware, snipers don't get up close and personal, they lay in a ditch over a about 700yards away with binoculars charting things, reconnaissance. And i don't think there has been a sniper death where they are fighting atm, not from the UK anyway.
Canada has had 132 casualties in afghanistan. Shut your fucking mouth please. Disrespectful ass hole.
5,000 Americans have died in Afghanistan and Iraq.
nice I'm joining the marines when I'm done with highschool
5,000 Americans have died in Afghanistan and Iraq.
"Our country has more casualties that your country so we're better na na na na naa naaa" You're not helping the American stereotypes you know
My cousin was in the Canadian military. Broke his arm in Afghanistan when his Humvee hit an IED and flipped over. If this sounds like fun to you, join up.
Please don't listen to people like this. I am joining the British Army soon and you Canadians are our distant relatives so I guess I can support your choice. I say go for it. Can't really suggest what you could go into (specializations wise) either because it's not a force I know much about and you haven't posted much about yourself. I'm hoping to join infantry. Regiments I'm considering are The Rifles or The Paras (Parachute Regiment (which I want more)) but I'm getting through two years of college first to secure myself and to increase levels of fitness because I'm not the fittest individual. I would say I am fairly determined however. Just don't listen to people who say you're going to die because it's up to what you choose to do. If you want to be frontline infantry (like me) then you are going to go through a lot of shit and yes, you risk absolutely everything but at the end of the day you're going to parts of the world others haven't been, I can imagine you'll make good friends (but I suppose this is natural because your life lies in their hands) and you can call yourself a soldier which is something I've always wanted to be able to call myself. You'll also be on a decent pay, and your promotions are guaranteed unless you show greater potential earlier on. Just consider what you could be losing if you go for something like infantry before you make any big decisions. But then think of the friends you will make, the things you will experience, the things you will see and the places you'll go. It seems like the perfect job for me (but really I can't even call it a job - it's an experience). I know none of my advice is first hand and I've experienced nothing but Army is always something I've considered and I am always encouraging people to join up. I can't wait to get started. Good luck.
"Our country has more casualties that your country so we're better na na na na naa naaa" You're not helping the American stereotypes you know
I don't know where your getting this from, I was just informing him as he informed me. As for American stereotypes, I don't believe loss of life is more of a bragging right, but actually quite the opposite. The only reason were in this war is for the money. Edit: I believe my countries boundaries for playing "World Police" have been crossed way over.

Mmmm, British engineering http://www.accuracyinternational.com/products.php
I'd do it, but that's because I already am doing it. I don't know what kind of benefits and such you get in the Canadian military, but it's a good place to get yourself some solid ground to stand on if you know what I mean.
According to the forces.ca website, you get full medical and dental. You also get all the books and teachers you need while you're there. Or, you can sub-join and get a salary while in school, and military-funded academic stuff. And, of course, the 200$ military discount while you're on leave. I could buy so many packages of gum...
