I was once driving to my friends house and a fucking peregrine falcon landed on the sidewalk next to my car and started walking a bit. I have no idea why it landed on a sidewalk next to a bunch of busy cars. This was next to a busy lake full of ducks and seagulls
great work my friend
I expected more cringe material. The worms are pretty sick, but get some more shocking crazy shit in this thread.
Oh, nice, more content.

I'd throw a book at one if I saw it.

They're good to have in your house, though.
Put something about Filaria.
Its not like they can hurt you I would have one as my pet
The pistol shrimp. This thing is fucking awesome.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistol_shrimp
Quote from Wikipedia:
"The snap can also produce sonoluminescence from the collapsing cavitation bubble. As it collapses, the cavitation bubble reaches temperatures of over 5,000 K (5,273.15 degree Celsius).[10] A quick comparison: the surface temperature of the sun is estimated to be around 5,778 K. The light is of lower intensity than the light produced by typical sonoluminescence and is not visible to the naked eye. It is most likely a by-product of the shock wave with no biological significance. However, it was the first known instance of an animal producing light by this effect. It has subsequently been discovered that another group of crustaceans, the mantis shrimp, contains species whose club-like forelimbs can strike so quickly and with such force as to induce sonoluminescent cavitation bubbles upon impact."

No way, that's wikipedia vandalism. The energy required to generate temperatures of 5,000K would be fucking insane.
The Arapaima

This is one bigass fresh water fish!

These guys are surely giants of the Fresh waters of South America. Nearing 500 pounds and sometimes getting to 15feet, biggest ever recorded is 17.8 feet.

I was hoping to see a venus fly trap.

I reckon it would be about 5J for a gram of air. So it's not that unbelievable.
Sturgeons are huge fuckers..
But I doubt this is a real photo...

Anyone have that weird fish that looked like a straight stick with a ton of equally spaced branches and at the top there was also what I'd guess is it's head? It was some really weird non-fish looking fish. :)

That's actually a mola-mola or giant sunfish, not a sturgeon, and I bet it's very much real.
