I get those big ass motherfuckers in my basement sometimes if I go down without turning the light on. (They hate the light and are fast as hell)
House centipedes are pretty cool, when I found out they aren't after me, I stopped squealing like a little girl every time I saw one.
You guys keep forgetting the most obscene creature you'll ever see, it is cool, disturbing, and sickening.
THE GEODUCK!

doesn't do anything particularly amazing, but it is a huge millipede, sometimes growing to 16", and they live for about 5 years.
A friend told me once about a fish or something similiar, so it lives in water. If a human goes to the shore of the river or sea, the fish jumps out an put his fucking long stinger in your genitals and it won't let you go until you use some kind of plant on him and mostly people die of it. Crazy stuff.

Holy fuck, I used to have them all over the place in South Africa. We called them Shanguhlolohs or something. My dog tried eating one. :3

Lyrebirds

Lyrebirds are a bird species native to Australia, they feed on insects, spiders, earthworms, occasionally seeds, they can't fly particularly well, and will rather run when in danger, and have been seen taking shelter in wombat holes.
But all that information is me delaying revealing the good part, lyrebirds are brilliant at mimicking noises, it uses a variety of noises it has heard as well as its own to make a mating song, as shown here.

You have an extremely valid point.
How about the Aspen?
it forms large stands of genetically identical trees connected by a single underground root system. They form through root sprouts coming off an original parent tree, though the root system may not remain a single unit in all cases. The largest known fully-connected Aspen is a grove in Utah nicknamed Pando, some call it the largest organism in the world. It covers 0.43 km2 (106 acres) and is estimated to weigh 6,600 short tons (6,000 t).
I actually have a corpse plant on the side of my house. Its kind of small though, as big as your arm. Its bloomed twice i believe, and is dark red and rotted looking. Smells like you would imagine it to smell like. Shit. Kind of cool though, seeing the bugs that swarm to it.
Im gonna have to add some more content since you guys are still reading it. Don't want people to get dissapointed! I'll check out these comments, and do some research on some of the really cool ones. Expect hopefully 1 or 2 by the end of the hour.
