I dont know how some people like gin, or even a martini. That juniper taste is just too bitter for me

dont worry, i wont mock you about taking anime seriously. whatever makes you happy
Whats anime? Cartoons?
awesome, isnt it a bit too sour though?
The apple juice sweetens it quite a bit. It's a pretty balanced mix of sweet and sour.
Anyone here ever had an old fashioned? It's my favourite cocktail, but when done properly takes quite a while. Here's my recipie for it, which I got from the bar I work in.
75ml Bourbon (I reccomend Buffalo Trace or Woodford Reserve, both great)
3 bar/tea spoons of sugar
3-4 dashes Angostura Bitters
1 orange.
Put the sugar into a short glass, followed by the bitters and stir together. Then prep your orange garnish. Using a peeler, go all the way round, then trim with a knife afterwards. Place to the side. Add the Bourbon, and 3 ice cubes. Stir until the sugar has dissolved, adding a single ice cube and the rind of the orange around half way though. When the sugar has dissolved, full the glass with ice, get off another small piece of orange rind, and squeeze the oils over the drink, and rub on the outside of the glass.
Drink and enjoy.

I fucking love cocktails. In my bar, one of those costs £6.50, while a bottle of beer is £3.75 cheapest.
can't go wrong with an old fashioned, a staple drink if you're out somewhere new and don't know what to order
you should give the bacon-infused old fashioned a try http://nymag.com/restaurants/recipes/inseason/45776/
Old fashioned is my default drink. I first had it in a small nightbar in Lisbon, which cost me 3€. It was made perfectly and the bartender took his time doing it.
A couple of weeks ago I went to one of those high end bars with a friend of mine. I recommended him the old fashioned and had a negroni myself. The bartender shaked both cocktails, and added soda water to the old fashioned at the end. Like, what the fuck, and it cost 8€
There's no need to shake a cocktail that has no fruit in it to break down in my opinion. Especially a martini. To me, shaking a martini is completely moot, as it stops the drink from having that beautiful clarity.
Also, add a drop of a peaty scotch to the top of a negroni, and it makes it even better.

jack daniels and coke is delicous, best thing to come out of america since windows
My friends and i took rakija a bit too much and we got very drunk,deciding that going to a store in a motorized wheelbarrow i made a long time ago in winter in minus 20 degrees(celsius). In midnight. To a store that works 24/7 that was far away. So we managed to stuff ourselves into it and went. How the fuck nobody noticed us i don't know. But at least we didn't do any shit in the store. When i woke up in the morning i noticed my wheelbarrow was completely destroyed. I don't drink that much since.
Irish coffee is the best sort of coffee. Mellows you out but perks you up, it's the greatest.
are you by chance a working bartender?
Yup. It's a mixed bag. When the right crowd is in, it's great. But when you get in crowds who only want strawberry daiquiri's, outrageously sweet, it's pretty bad. And people who don't understand cocktails. But I love it
can i add you on steam for a chat?
yeah sure
My family owns a winery and a brewery.
Find out which one we are.
holy dick this thread is alive
anyway, bringing content to my oldass thread, we are going to be so fucking bombed on new years its not even funny.
i mean i have a feeling my liver is going to commit suicide before to save itself
i'm having a hotel party at the top of a hilton and i'm gonna be a damn pirate
I'm gonna do cocaine and drink gin on new years
Got some whisky stones in my stocking this year, as well as a few small sample bottles of various whiskies.
Im gonna drink some water its gonna be so hard
Got intoxicated for the first time last night.
Got some rum and coke (Pineapple rum is way better than just regular)
I felt really weird. My face was super flushed. I definitely lost some motor skills.
Interested in doing this again. I want to get legitimately drunk though (But not TOO much)
What can I say, college changed me.
After getting flat out drunk during my voyage to stockholm i quit alcohol except for wine during holidays.
Feels like some sort of achievement for the running 4th month considering there wasnt a week i didn't get drunk.
My brother got me a bottle of Elijah Craig bourbon for christmas today, and holy fuck I'm excited to try it. Very dark on the nose, big contrast the the woodford I've been drinking all day. I'll be trying it tomorrow and I'll report back!
Having a glass of Glenlivet with my new whisky stones. Glenlivet's a great scotch. Very smooth. Similar to Irish whisky.
[editline]25th December 2012[/editline]
Like it chilled. Love that I can drink it chilled without diluting it now. They say it and I didn't believe them until I tried it, but even a little bit of water in scotch completely changes the taste.

yep, a few drops of water helps release the flavor quite a bit
did you get any bourbons out of those samples?

Got some Jack Daniels but I don't drink straight bourbon.
Ballantines is awesome for a scotch mule, and for when your alcohol intake rolls on acceptably cheap brands. But I still like to stay with a bourbon, for when I want an Old Fashioned. Anybody know of a good bourbon for old fashioneds?
Tried something mighty cool last night.

If you want to make one here's how!
Pouring order is:
* Grenadine
* Orange Juice
* Jägermeister
NOTE: Pour the liquids over a small spoon so that it doesn't break the surface tension of the liquid you pour it on top of.
Tastes pretty interesting!
Alcohol: Because blacking out on the kitchen floor at a party is the shit
