I guess it's like our Walmart. Never a dull moment everytime I go shop there.
well not really, it doesnt have everything, and it isnt huge.
But I still find it strange that you cant get any winter jack in the US. Not even this?
here Lidl is pretty normal. I mean sure its kind of associated with poor people, as well as any other discount stores, but it gets shit done and its not that hard on the wallet
Did you get your jd and jager from lidl?
They don't sell a lot of mainstream alcohol here in the uk, its all european stuff.
Yeah, supermarket that started in Germany I think.
And where do you live? The US?

Also, Im gonna start selling cocktails in my studio with a couple of friends. Just easy stuff like whiskey & cola and stuff for now because thats what everybody drinks and it comes off cheaper and easier to make. Later on were gonna get more variety going on, Im gonna introduce some classics for people who are interested. Thought about making something like a weekly special which would be a classic cocktail, depending on what I had in stock but yeah, hopefully we'll make enough money to keep going first.
If you have any suggestions for our menu shoot. Were thinking of having the following for now
Whiskey & Coke
Rum & Coke
Gin & Tonic
Vodka & Lemon (actually I think its horrible because its like a vodka sour without the sugar to balance it, but if people drink it at clubs and that shit, oh well)
Vodka & Red Bull
Moscow Mule/Scotch Mule(?)
Maybe the Old Fashioned, since I usually do them for myself as well. And Sours, and other long drinks once I get a shaker.
Please be aware that if you start selling drinks you're going to be in violation of the law without some kind of license in the majority of countries.
and then get my hand bruised because 50 people want mojitos and caipirinhas.
Could work though, lets see how much I can endure
Put the ice in a plastic bag (the ones you put fresh veg in at the supermarket) and smash it with a rolling pin.
I'm kind of on the fence with alcohol. I like being buzzed, and I like drinking at parties, but I hate being drunk, and the taste is fucking awful nine times out of ten. The only alcoholic drinks I like for the taste are beer and Smirnoff Ice. Jello shots are the shit, too. Oh and Mudslides, fucking looove Mudslides.
Mostly I just drink beer, microbrews preferably, but stuff like Rolling Rock and Samuel Adams are pretty good. Fuck light beer.
Anyway we have a subforum for this, it's called Drugs Discussion. Alcohol is a drug, being a CNS Depressant and all.
I love trying all kind of different beer from microbreweries. There's about 5 local breweries here and I'm currently trying to test all their different brews.
So far what I found liking the most was some Maple tasting Barley Wine at 11%, and some Beer on lees at 8% that had a very pronounced taste in mouth, fruity even.
Macrobreweries beer are often shit, the only kind I can drink and enjoy are Alexander's Keith Red Amber Ale.
Used to like drinking liquor and mixes too, but I overdid it ONE night and just the smell of vodka and whiskey puts me off. But I still have some Moskovskaya, Polar Ice vodka, some Jameson Whiskey and some Screech rum.
Now on wines, I fucking love drinking whine, because just like beer, there are so many tastes to discover. One of my favorite is the Yellow tail Australian wine.>
Still enjoy the occasional buzz, but being drunk is not even fun, but it takes a lot for me to get drunk.

well, nobody has to know about it.

No, theyre all cheap knock offs, except once or twice when I see real brands there, and its usually in some kind of discounted price.

No, why do you guys get all these awesome juices?!!! it's not fair :(
well, just made the menu today and it includes a lot of the drinks I mentioned previously. Its in german so it wont upload it, but since mike said that its illegal to do something like this, we renamed every drink with stuff laying around our studio. For example, if you wanted a greyhound, you'd call it grey cardboard. If you want a vodka bull youd say "I want glue" and so on.
Been drinking The Kraken with friends a lot recently, really liking how smooth it is going down
I drink anything, in quantities, no questions asked.
Except rum, not really big on rum.

I drink pints and pints of the stuff, not too good on the wallet though it's pretty expensive stuff. There's this pub in my city called Bierhaus that has every obscure beer imaginable, and they play old school early 90's and late 80's electronica music. It's brilliant for a session on the beer.
Got myself a bottle of Licor de Platano Cobana from my parents as a souvenir from the Canary Islands
[sp]I only asked for some "gourmet soda", but this suffices very well[/sp]
[sp]Also my girlfriend doesn't like bananas at all so I don't have to worry about her making it dissapear[/sp]

Actually buying a bar abroad and turning it into an Irish pub has always been a little dream of mine. I was thinking maybe the states or somewhere obscure like the Far East or Eastern Europe. A fantasy perhaps, but a man can dream.
Yeah, Id like to open a bar in the future too. But it would be a chill cocktail lounge type of thing.
I drink at home, where I'm not going to act like a complete ass and put other people in danger while doing so.
buddy
this one time we were going to a party, have to buy drink. my friend goes up to the counter and when asked for his date of birth, messes up and says 1996 (he's 17) but she still gives him the alcohol, then we go to the party and got absolutely shitfaced. i was in the toilet and i don't even know how but i got a huge piss mark on my pants, so i threw loads of water in it to make it look like i spilled alcohol but nobody believed me.
towards the end i stole 20 cent and a condom, then afterwards we were walking down the road and some old guy drives past and as you do when drunk, we started being loud. some other drunk guy says he's gonna stab us for shouting at his granddad (it wasn't even his grand dad)
then i took a shit in a forest because it was 2am and spent all my taxi money on the mcdonalds drive thru. i had about 1 euro and a few cents left, thankfully we're getting a taxi with some retarded chick and she asks for all of our money, i give her my pitiful coppers and she drops it and i'm like yo there was enough for the taxi there - must've lost a few, and i get off scot free. oh also we left one of our friends behind because he was a douche.
cider and mcdonalds doesn't mix and i was constipated for the next week.
hangovers are like check points
you keep drinking from there on
Going to a party with a bartender this Saturday, will be trying mixed drinks for the first time (beyond rum and coke, of course).
Any suggestions?
everything
old fashioned
how often do you guys binge drink? cuz ive been doin it a lot lately
i never do it, you should probably get that under control
all I want is to try a brass monkey
how often do you guys binge drink? cuz ive been doin it a lot lately
At least every 2nd or 3rd weekend. I'd class binge drinking as being more than like 4 beers.
I fully intend on cutting back this year though.
i never do it, you should probably get that under control
Yeah, seriously.
I enjoy my drink (occasionally in large amounts), but getting black-out, barf-everywhere drunk just isn't fun :v:
i have never vomited from alcohol
