A little while ago I was out getting coal for my fireplace. It was kinda dark but I was tired so I didn't really care. However, there was rustling behind me and I got a little nervous. After filling up the bucket the wind picked up and I felt a pinch on my arse. Facepunch, was I molested by a poltergeist?
You're going to die too
well. some cool stuff you guys got here, but it's getting dark and I'm not going to scare the shit out of myself (anymore than I already have). I will now procede to watch a bunch of mindless bloody fight flashes on Newgrounds in order to loosen up. also: FUN FACT: my birthday is the same as H.P. Lovecrafts'.
Time for me to make up a random creepy story... It will probably suck ass. A couple of years ago, at the start of another pointless summer, my family decided that we should get together and go someplace nice. My family, and my relatives decided we needed to get together for a "relaxing getaway" Somewhere here in California would have been my choice, but I wasn't planning this trip. A hotel located somewhere in southern Florida was our destination. I have never been to Florida myself, but i can't say wasn't looking forward to it. Everything Florida has is right here in California, and better, most likely. All the flights from Los Angeles, to Chicago, to whichever dirty airport in Florida we flew into, were too long for my comforts. I honestly paid no attention to the names of anything... I just followed my parents, and my older sister around the terminals, not paying attention to anything, or anyone. In the end, it was a long day for me. We finally arrived at the hotel, in some town, somewhere. This place we were staying at literally looked as if it was about to collapse on itself. We walked into what seemed like the lobby, and were greeted by a shady looking hotel staff. That stood there smiling with an dark glare in there eyes... There was something about this hotel... I don't know if anyone else in my family noticed it, but something was wrong here. Made more suspicious by the fact that we were the only ones staying here besides the rest of my relatives. "Welcome to the Westbrook, sir." Came the bold voice behind the reception desk. "How can i help you this evening?" The receptionist and my father discussed who was staying in what room, my sister and I got our own rooms.. Which was a good thing in my case, my sister isn't exactly the friendliest. That night however, I couldn't sleep at all. Those flights were long, and I was awake through all of them. My sleep escaped me. With nothing else to do, I flipped on the TV and surfed through the standard analog channels. They were limited to about 10, and none of them were interesting. I left the TV on, and glanced at the time from the old wooden clock barely hanging on the wall. 12:25 AM. With the TV on, I closed my eyes for any attempt at sleep. I woke up almost instantly to the sudden static of the TV... which i swear was normal when i fell asleep. The clock read 12:36 AM. Where the hell did this static come from? Maybe it was just the channel, but when i attempted to switch channels, it didn't change... The TV didn't even power off when i tried. I was about to throw something at it when suddenly it turned black... a few seconds later, it flashed back on. But i wasn't paying attention... i was staring in horror at the 4 figures that were all suddenly standing in a circle that surrounded my bed... These creatures resembled humans, but were the complete opposite. Their faces were mangled and disfigured, and were bleeding horrendously, their bodies had no shape or proportion, and twitched erratically. The creatures' limbs seemed to stretch in directions impossible. The TV blared static, louder then before.. I stared in horror, as my mind tried to process what i was witnessing... The creatures started walking towards my bed.. I yelled at the top of my lungs for anybody... No one came. The TV went out again, and when it came back, The number 318 was shining with a blank background.. 318 was the number of my hotel room.
I rolled a 20... Fuck. I was critically hit by Gman's mind fuck. Anybody got a phoenixdown?
Pretty sure Phoenix Downs only rez people, they don't restore Sanity points. Hell, Final Fantasy doesn't even HAVE a Sanity stat. Sorry bro, you better book a room at Arkham until you stop seeing alien gods. Still, remember to be careful when breaking up with Shub-Niggurath, she tends to hold grudges now she's gone through her menopause.
I wrote something for all of you. Never did this before. Hope you get your kicks. This started happening to me about 3 years ago, when I was 19. I had been living alone with my mother for a year at this point. While most kids went of to college, I stayed home to take care of her. My mom has Alzheimer's and we can't afford to send her to a home. Even if we did, I don't think I would have the heart to send her to one. I love and care for her too much to abandon her. My sister used to help me with her, but she got married and moved out. Not everything was bad though. My parents paid our house of years ago so we don't need to worry about house payments (my dad was paid well as he worked removing asbestos. When he died we got a little bit of insurance money which covered what we had left on the mortgage). We have an rather old home. Everything here looks like it belongs in the museum. This is because most of our belongings are passed down generation from generation. I don't mind the things, it's the smell that I can't stand. You'd think I'd get used to it after all these years. It still smells old to me. Smells like death. All that I am about to describe started happening around November 2008. I had put my mom to bed a few hours earlier and had been asleep for about an hour myself. I don't know why I woke up. There was no loud noise or anything like that. I simply woke up. I tossed and turned a bit, and got quite frustrated. I finally sat up and that's when I heard something. A sound that made my heart drop. My mom was crying. Her Alzheimer's has gotten progressively worse and for a few months she has been devoid of any real emotion. She didn't smile, laugh get angry. She was just there. Making the most basic of observations. I assumed the worst. I sprung out of bed and rushed to her room. She was sitting in a chair instead of being in her bed. Tears pouring down her face. I tried calming her down but she kept crying and uttering a few words. "He is so angry". I tried asking who, but she was ignoring me. I took her by her hand and tried to walk her to her bed. When I got up and turned around I saw a pale man standing in the doorway. He was dressed in clothing which would belong in the 50s. I couldn't focus on specifics because my eyes were drawn to his face. It was mangled and and intense. His eyes were piercing and he was looking right at me; the way he looked at me was pouring with hatred. I have never seen him before and this man was foaming with malice. He didn't advance on me, and I am not faint of heart; but I did lose consciousness. I woke up in our basement, with bruises on my body. The deathly smell of the house was gone. I couldn't smell or hear anything. I was in a daze. I rolled over and tried to get up. I pulled myself up and fell down again. He was standing above me. He had the same look on his face. I wanted to scream and run at the same time, but I couldn't move. At this point I could hear again. I wish I hadn't because now I heard him breathing heavily. I lasted another couple of seconds before passing out again. When I came to again, I quickly got up. I ran upstairs, noticing it was light out. My mom was still sitting in her chair, with dried tear marks on her face. She was emotionless. No bruises on her body. She didn't speak the whole day. I have no idea what happened. I would leave this house but we can't afford to live anywhere else. The worst part of this is that I am afraid to do anything about this. I've never felt fear like this. I am powerless to do anything. As I am writing this to you, I hear her. My mom is crying down the hall. He is with her. But I am afraid to face him. The pale man scares me, and I am a grown man. He is terrifying, and he is so angry.
Skip to 2:50 if you don't want to hear the explanation of the video. I'm pretty convinced it's real. Even if it's just a game that's pretty creepy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEuiHv0TKZA :wtf:

I just recently bought Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I've played for ~30 minutes and I'm already too scared to go on.
