Well, great.
I'm here, alone, in the middle of the night and suddenly a radio 2 rooms away from me turns on for some reason.
Really creepy when you're just sitting in your room and suddenly you start hearing loud white noise with a single violin playing.
It means there's an enemy in your house. Quick, grab a nailboard and a vitamin drink!
On a more serious note, do you have any pets who could have bumped it? Maybe a rare (but possible) micro earthquake? Maybe the gravity perturbations from the moon adjusted it? Maybe all of the cows in a certain field in Indiana were facing north at the same time?

Nah, just for some reason the radio's alarm clock part reset to exactly midnight, apparently.

I figured that it was going to be about those freon huffers, though I guess I wasn't too far off.
I know it's shameless self advertisement, but it is related.

The place is "haunted" if you believe in that stuff. My dad and I always have creepy experiences when we go there and a few days after. Nothing happening this time though. So even if there was something haunting about this place, the buildings are destroyed that really were said to be haunted.
I should go there sometime and get night pics :v:

Well there is this one really creepy tree on the top of the mountain at this place. It's sitting in the center of a field that's about 1 mi x 1 mi. It's the only thing in sight, and there are rocks hanging from it, and birthday cards signed in blood all around the tree.
First time I saw this was in 2003 with my dad and his friend. We were all freaked out.
Few other things that I can't really remember at the moment.

I wish there was stuff like that near where I live. Well, there is an abandoned estate but all the door and windows are boarded up and some gates are pad locked. And I went down there early in this year and took some cracking pics but I can't seem to find them on my computer unfortunately. I remember that some one broke into a shed at one of the big houses which I think used to be an orphanage and there was files and projector slides and old computers, telephones. Twas pretty cool.

I'm sure this has already been put on here, but seriously it freaked the shit out of me.

Silly you, you can't bury something in the attic, but I'll play along. Could you please dig up that old hard drive?

To be honest I have no idea which drive it's on, and whether it's in his current comp or not. He has like 8 1TB hard drives, and, the ones from 2005 and before either disappeared or are in some archive.
So to put it simply, I have no idea where to begin to look. But I can google the tree. I know there's an old site dedicated to it.

That would be great!
I seriously can't find the fucking site. I'll go look around my dad's comp after he goes to bed.

It was on a hill in some sector of the hospital. Hell, this was like 8 or 9 years ago when I was like 10.

Quite obviously, a ghost has stolen them.
I want to share a creepy story.
Once I was heading on down to a holiday in England, and I stayed in a small room.
A little while later, fuck me! The room was gradually getting colder, possibly by a few degrees at most. This lasted for a few minutes then left as gradually as it came.
This event scared me so much that I have nightmares about it on a regular basis now, the few minutes in which my room got slightly colder were the worst of my life and I can attribute it to a supernatural experience on the sight.

The tree is in that field. So is the oldest sections of the hospital which were torn down in the late 90's.

But, the tree is pretty far in. It opens up a lot past that gate.

Let me begin with this. My Grandson showed me this website the other day, and told me about how people post their ghost stories and others discuss and talk about them. He also told me that most of them are made up, but even those don't beat the true life one what happened to me. Every word of it is true, and I put that between me and god.
I celebrated my 76th birthday the other day (yes, I understand that most 76 year olds are not avid internet users, but I have help from my grandchildren). I was a pilot and prisoner of war in North Vietnam, and my grandson (who showed me this site) asked me if I had any stories I hadn't told anyone about my time up north. I used to be very stoic about my imprisonment, but I've since came to terms with it. However, what I hadn't come to terms with yet, was the time between me being shot down and captured. These, were without doubt the most terrifying moments of my life. I was flying a reconnaissance mission with my navigator, Dick, on highway 15 near Ha Tinh. I was stationed on the USS Enterprise and I piloted an RA-5C Vigilante, which at the time (1968) was second in high speed reconnaissance only to the SR-71. AAA fire shot off our right wing. We burst into flames, and took a hard roll. It was a matter of seconds, but I already thought I was dead, and wondered why it was taking so long to cross into the next plane. When I ejected, I realized that I was really alive. Dick and I floated (for what seemed like hours) down to the jungle, with bullets flying in every direction towards us. I realized my hands were severely burned. I don't know if it was luck, or a higher power, but we made it to the ground without being fulls of holes. As soon as I landed, I remember the silence. It was unsettling. Besides my moaning in pain, absolute quiet. At first. I reckoned that the NVA would be on us in no time.(It says I ran over the character limit, I will continue in the next post)
I tried to radio US pilots for rescue, but we were in a very inland position and it seemed very unlikely. After my second radio, and I remember dick shooting a look at me, fear stricken. "Did you hear that?" I looked around, and listened. It was a spooky spot we landed in, and I heard a strange crying. It sounded like it came from a dying woman. It was getting closer and closer, until it was so close that we thought some mama-san was right under us. I didn't think much of ghosts more than stories, but with everything going on, I started praying to be rescued with more energy. Then, a rustling startled us. I remember dick saying "We surrender" in broken Vietnamese. Then another distinct crying originated from that rustling. We both jumped. It wasn't animal, but it wasn't human either. In Vietnam, we always heard stories of downed pilots and others telling wild stories of haunted buddist temples and strange noises i nthe hills, but we thought nothing of it. I told dick that it must be the NVA just playing with us, to get us off our guard. We nodded in agreement, because any other outcome would have driven us off the edge. I yelled into my radio, frantically radioing for rescue, saying the NVA is right by us. No Luck. The noises became louder, and it seemed like some sort of symphony or chamber music. It seemed like we lied there for hours listening to that dreadful sound. I tried to put my hands over my ears, but it was in my head, it felts like it was going through my hands. Then, we saw shadows darting back and forth in the bush
We knew something was up. We still yelled insults at the NVA for not just capturing us, but we both knew that it was the land, like all those stories, and not it's inhabitants that were playing with us. The shadows (there were about 4 to 5, and the noise was so loud that we couldn't tell if they were coming from them.) All stopped, almost equidistantly away from me. They had almost the silhouette of people, but stlied almost like a swarm of bees. I yelled into my radio, and I cursed like I never had before of have again. I tried to crawl away, but my hands were so burnt that the pain debilitated me. My adrenalin eventually outweighed the pain, and I started crawling, but they just followed, like they were locked on my position. I was paralysed in fear as they all started to dance around me. I was sobbing and yelling and trying to kick out at them, but my leg just went through
I forgot dick was there, and I forgot I was in the navy, and I forgot I just got shot down, and I forgot in was in vietnam. The Ambient screaming crescendoed, and it turned into a chanting barely recognizable as Vietnamese or some other south east Asian language. I thought that I was in hell, and in a sense I was. I don't know what I must have been screaming in the ear of some poor radio operator, but it must have been the rantings of a madman. All of a sudden, as soon as it began, everything went silent. They were still hovering over me, but I was aware of myself again. I shared what seemed like an eternity looking into their gaseous mass. I heard more rustling, but this was distinct. I saw a vietnamese boy, couldn't be more than 19, standing, looking at me and dick, who were still silent. He shot a burst into the air, and the specters all ran off in seperate directions. It felt like we'd been there for hours, and that we were shot down last night. In reality, I was later told that from the triple A shooting our wing to the Vietnamese converging on our position, it was only 45 minutes.
Dick and I came to our senses, still shuddering from the shock of being shot down, and from the terror of what just occurred. I passed out after that. When I awoke being beaten by vietnamese, I remembered what had happened. That seemed like a pitance compared to the terror of the landing. Dick and I didn't speak of anything past landing on the ground for weeks. One day, we realized we couldn't hold it it longer. "Did that really...?" Is all I said. He nodded, with a tear streaking his cheek. in the 23 months I was with him, and the following 5 years of imprisonment in various other camps, and the years back in the navy, and retired, I had never spoken to anyone onto what happened. In 1973 when we were released, and got off the plane together, we only spoke in isolated letters and phone calls. We were reunited in person in our older age, and after the hugs and soldier's talk, our smiles turned, and we shared a silent moment of remembrance. Dick died 3 years ago, and I don't believe he told anybody. That is why, I told my family for the first time last month, and decided to tell you all. Because in all the stories of war, the sad and triumphant we know, there are a million more that died with the soldiers that experienced them. I will try to answer any questions you have. Mind you, I don't remember everything at 76 years old, but I'm not against telling you anything besides my personal details. I found that healing is in acceptance.
