Still sends shivers down my spine.

Same. That one, along with the one where the guy is in the hotel and looks through the peephole with the red that's actually an eye and the one where the guy goes into a cabin and sleeps in a room full of portraits but wakes up and there's only windows always manage to give me a scare, no matter how many times I've read them.
I've been thinking about this a bit. I know that HPL's work is fictional and all, so don't go off at me.
Azathoth is a being in HPL's work. It created universe by blowing on its flute so hard, cracking it, and creating energy and matter from the sound which emanated outward forever. The sound he made then destroyed his intelligence, making him stupid and blind. He blows on his flute in his court in the center of the universe, matter and energy and sound swirling around him, piping eternally with no senses or thought. Should his piping stop, the fabric of the universe would rip itself to shreds and all would be lost.
I had a comparative history of religions class this semester. Very interesting. I noticed parallels.
Buddhism and Hinduism: The universe is held together by a sound rythm- a beating drum traditionally, that started when the world was created.
Gnosticism: The world was created by an idiot god- the god of the bible, who was stupid. He was truly one of many gods, but he, being an idiot, believes he was the only one. This is why the world is imperfect.
And my previous knowledge of some scientific concepts.
String theory: All particles at the most fundamental level are made of strings vibrating at a certain frequency.
Black holes: Celestial objects that suck up matter and energy, swirling around it until it is sucked in.
Light holes: The opposite- proposed to expel matter and energy.
Kind of a stretch, but the concepts seem pretty similar to some of the concepts of HPL's Azathoth. I'm sure that if HPL was around to know these ideas and know about these religious beliefs he'd attribute it to Azathoth in his stories.
why am I in this thread at 2:37am in my pitch black room with headphones on? Do i stop to look at what may be behind me? I think not.

As soon as I read this post I turned around.
Someone should remake that Skyrim V05C mod once the modding tools are released. Except the harddrive wipe and the door of knowledge. It would be so creepy... :suicide:

Interesting. Even more so for me because I am quite a fan of HPL's work, but I've never thought so much into it.
Nice analyzing.

Now that was the first creepypasta I've ever read, and like you say, it gives me the creeps every time I've read it since.
I don't know if this is on topic, but I totally just scared the shit out of my brother. They were talking about going upstairs, so I decided to stand sort of off-to-the-side of the top of the stairs in near total darkness. He flipped out! Hahaha. I kind of feel bad, but oh well.
can some of you guys link me a good creepypasta website, i just love this shit and want to be creeped out :D

Isn't that image from some creepypasta?
Isn't that image from some creepypasta?
It's from one called "Check the Camera"
It always makes me laugh at that story when [sp]both of the parents see a shadow go into their childs room and they don't investigate it.[/sp]
Alright. So today me and a few buddies from mine are getting together to hike it out in the canyon near by my home.
My friend did a lot of digging and apparently there is a cult compound that has been operating in the vicinity of the canyon for almost 5 decades. They're going to be congregating out somewhere with in a few hours and we're going to make sure we're going to see it and check them out from a good distance. We're also exploring a few other areas at night so this may yield some good and creepy shit.
Also. Bringing my rifle in case coyotes get too cocky.

Yeah, it's apparently a Catholic cult called the St. Josephs Hill of Hope. If you google it there's probably a blog that entails a lot things of the canyon we're going into.

For all I know it may some Last Exorcism all up in this shit, but it'd be cool to see some activity. There's also an old cold-war era ammunitions dump in the canyon that almost caught fire from a brushfire a few years ago that we'reg going to check out.

would be a lot scarier without the bugeyes.
Was heading upstairs when a white object was in the corner of my eye. I thought it was a ghost, so I rushed.
I checked it out in the morning, turns out it was a jacket, I hate it when stuff like this makes me all paranoid.
Back from hike. Did about 8 miles of walking through a bunch of hills and shrubs.
I'll get pics up and here's some more background info about the cult.

So I was on my bed listening to some creepypasta podcast, when I look up and notice my sliding wardrobe door slowly opening, so naturally I shit myself, jump up, turn the light on only to find out that it was just my aircon causing it.

Haha, yeah right. I saw it was a .GIF and immediately scrolled down so I could only see the text.

Which creepypasta podcasts do you listen to?
The Nosleep podcast is good, but it only has 18 episodes and counting.
