what is katawa shoujo and why is on every award
It's the best game every made.
It's the best game every made.
It's not even a proper game, Its a visual novel. More so a interactive book.

So far I've only made one choice (whether or not to introduce myself to my new classmates) so it doesn't feel much like a game at this point. Time will tell whether that'll actually change. The art is pretty well done though, as is the music, and the story up to this point has been well written enough to get me semi-interested. I'm gonna save the game and take a break in a minute, this game has reminded me that I've got work to finish.

Also why is there a monstergirl-rape simulator in best game nominees (with what I assume is cropped porn as a image). Then again same goes for cripple fucking simulator.
The walking dead had things like quicktime events, and a lot more choices - Katawa Shoujo's choices were more 'click this for this whole chunk of writing which you may or may not achieve from the points system' rather than 'this is going to work alongside with your choice from earlier'
I'm not hating on it, but I don't think it's a game that can be measured up against the games with erm, gameplay. Katawa Shoujo was an enjoyable story. Usually I despise anything involving anime but I still enjoyed it, for the record.
Don't get me wrong, TWD is more of a game than KS for sure. I just mean that it becomes hard to draw a line between what is a game and what isn't, it's not a clear separation.
I heard it was really patronising, also only pays attention to negative depictions of women, ignores good ones.
People have a problem with it because she took the money and ran. She hasn't made a single video on it and acts like a victim when people call her out.
Honestly, nobody liked last years so I don't know why they're making another one.
COD gets the Stop It award. Hands Down.
I'd say that CoD may be the least deserving of that award from what I've heard. Treyarch seems to be getting bored of the "Shoot foreigners until you die and then keep going until you win" storyline the Modern Warfare series sticks so firmly to. If they continue to focus more on characters as characters, rather than just familiar faces like Soap and Price, and took some cues from Spec Ops (The whole "If you try to be a hero like this you're going to see a lot of bad shit", not necessarily the insanity bit) they could have a really interesting story.
It would probably do them good to drop the Call of Duty name though, since the two series are very different at this point.

Monster Girl Quest is probably more of a joke entry since it's a full on porn game that focuses on monster rape, while KS is basically a slightly interactive story that doesn't revolve around porn being the main focus in the game.
Monster Girl Quest got my #1 vote.
not enough love for Hotline Miami in this thread
This is pretty obvious but I think the Meat and Fish award is supposed to reference Edmund McMillen of Team Meat and Phil Fish (Fez creator).

Continuity, monster girl quest part 1 was in last year, too. And it didn't win for some fucked up reason, i sure wanted to see the explanation for that one.

Surely, after receiving money people WILLINGLY gave her to support the making of a videos series on the various depictions of women in video games (whether positive or negative) justifies all the insults, flash games in which you beat her up, and other countless online harrassment episodes she went through. From day one.
"best of all, she says she's a victim! lmfao what a bitch wow haha"
by the way, the last update on Tropes VS. Women is from Dec. 10 2012 - it's a video series, with a video released each month. Give it some time and wait instead of jumping on the bandwagon excuse that she "TOOK THE MONEY AND RAN AWAY!!"?
The whole Anita Sarkesian hate is pure mysoginistic bandwagonnery, nothing less
There's a problem with the way most women are portayed in most videogames, especially the ones that reach a greater audience. Both men and women acknowledge it - and the kickstarter's success is the proof that a lot of people are genuinely interested in looking at it.
Did she steal money? Did she insult anyone? No, she started an interesting online project as a feminist (and woman), and all she's got back - aside from tremendous support -is a giant harrassment campain from 4chan and other pathetic websites, to destroy her public image and personal life as much as possible, just for that.

there is absolutely no reason that she had to take up cash in order to do this.
It might have been donate only but it's been 7 months since she started raising money for it and has yet to post a single video from the series. Why she even needed Kickstarter funding for continuing to produce what are essentially the same videos she's been making for years now is beyond me. Additionally she intentionally misled people about the costs of producing the series. She already has decent recording equipment, she clearly already has consoles necessary for researching the series, she claims to have lots of experience with video games which implies she owns at least some of the titles she plans on shitting all over.
It's a cashgrab in the sense that she requested money to do something she had already been doing, played on the rightfully garnered controversy to justify what she was doing, then has failed to deliver what she promised donors.
There was plenty of hate directed towards her before she started the Kickstarter project due to previous videos by her. A lot of the backlash did go overboard, but ultimately she profited off a fanbase who she intentionally misled, then played the victim when people were drawing legitimate criticism against what she was doing and how she was doing it. After that, it devolved into nothing other than shitflinging on both sides.

I'm giving them one more chance.
It better not be like last year where every single fucking award went to Portal 2 and Bastion.
I don't like Reddit, but it was fucking hilarious when they dissed Reddit for giving every good award to Portal 2 and Bastion.

Didn't see either game in any category. So unless they pull some shenanigans, they won't win anything other than a reference to the fact they won everything last year.
Journey or Max Payne 3 should win best soundtrack.
Journey or Max Payne 3 should win best soundtrack.
I think Torchlight 2 should win it.
I get the feeling Dustforce will only get about ten votes, and that's from the ten people that bought it.

No but like at the beginning they talk shit about Katana Weeaboo and some other indie game, then end up giving every good award to those two games.
Oh hey, Frog Fractions. Wonderful soundtrack, glad to see it's nominated.
