The woman in this story is like that last copy of CoD: Black Ops you go to pick up, but you notice the wrapping is torn on the side, and when you go to pop the case open, the disc is missing and your heart sinks. Then you realize some asshole is out there with your copy of Black Ops.
No, the woman in this story is like a copy of CoD: Black Ops that is laying on the sidewalk and you sit there for 3 hours contemplating on whether you should take it or not, until some guy walks by, sees it, picks it up, and walks off. Then you get all butthurt and tell the internet that it was rightfully yours because you were there first and the guy is a fucking asshole for taking it.
EDIT:
And then you realize that Black Ops is the same exact shit as MW2 and plenty of other shooters, so you got all worked up for nothing.
Rejection doesn't really bother me that much. Unfortunately, I have a borderline phobia of awkward situations, and vividly remember every awkward situation from my past so well that it conjures the same feelings as it did when they first happened.
Same.

amazing analogy
except black ops is fun
theres a big difference between asking a girl out on a date and "going out"
one is having a fun time with a girl, one is dragging her around on an awkward, invisible leash

what
Asking a girl out is what initiates you going out.
So, what Dysentery said.
what

And even if you did pick it up, chances are you don't meet the system requirements.

Holy fuck that's the greatest analogy I've ever fucking read.

Well shit, guess I'm glad I didn't buy it. Back to playing L4D.
You put down in words what I was always too ashamed to admit. Bravo. god i love your threads
very interesting, i am a little hesitant to follow advice on facepunch. but fuck it ill give it a try.
same thing happened to me, girl was fun to hang out with (in a group of friends) realized i had a crush, waited on it for a year (idk why, i guess i was nervous) then a month later she starts dating some other guy.
Yeah at first i was pissed at the guy, but after this i realize it was my fault for sitting at the sidelines wondering... sure i still have the crush, ive contemplated telling her about it. I feel like it would clear my conscience (ive lost sleep over this) but at the same time i feel like thats an excuse to try and win her over. this i need help with... its been a year since and shes still with the guy, still happy. and every once in a while i get stuck thinking what if? ugh i guess i just need more time to move on, after reading this i will hopefully realize theres an infinite amount of opportunities and i shouldn't get stuck on this one.
So i guess i will move on to this other chick i have a crush on. almost same situation, she hangs with me and a group of friends, i like her. Now i guess the first step is to finally ask, without mentioning the fact that i really like her. just to get to know her on the level you guys are talking about. if it doesn't work, well at least i know i tried and i will leave with a clean conscience.
i guess the fear that some people have on this, as i do, is ruining what is already there. i don't want to freak them out and make hanging our with friends awkward. These girls are great to hang out with, if you do it right (ask them out without creeping them out) then i guess it will be fine even if it doesn't work. you both will realize ur not meant for each other on that level and know that you like to just have fun.
my problem is dwelling on the past and i hope no one makes that mistake of sitting there and wondering what could have been. its bad for the soul and my high school years are filled with that sorrow. get out there, ask him/her out, make something of yourself so you don't sit there wondering about what could have happened if you did this or that. sure i will live these regrets as long as i let myself, i guess the only remedy is to move on and turn it into something beautiful and worth living, aka asking that girl out.
Wow that 30+ hours of no sleep must be getting to me. I read the thread title as "For guys who like falling asleep with female friends."

A fucking huge spot...
I gotta visit the Love Advice Forums more often, hilarious threads there...
Ive been down this road. Never took it to the actual relationship level. if i see her with another man. im cool with it.
Enjoy the friend zone.
Been down that road. It fucking sucks.
If I had read this 2 years ago I would be alot happier right now.
Basically: I love her, she loves her semi-ex, her semi ex-loves me.
Love triangles. Fucking complicated. She now hates me because I decided not to lie to her about having got with him at a party. He has fallen more for me. I still love her more than anything. Hell, she's the only thing I seem to care about. Fuck.
My personal life:
Thread killing since 2007.
I had a friend-girl.
A week ago or so, if I recall correctly, she stopped talking to me. She pretty much cut off all communication between us.
My friend called me 5 days ago saying "Dude, she's going out with DOUCHE_BOYFRIEND042"
(My friend happens to know DOUCHE_BOYFRIEND042 pretty well.)
I thought "What the fuck" and I didn't really say much, I though I'd just wait again.
Yesterday he called me again saying "He apparently broke up with her."
Guess who fucking called me not an hour later?
Guess what I said?
"..."
Because I'm fucking gordon freeman.
Also don't hope for a long-distance relationship.

I just fell in love with 3 lines of text. God I'm so easy.
See I started off with my best friend like this, but now she really is my best friend.
Female friends are awesome by the way, they have all sorts of secret dating hints that usually work.
Here's a diagram of my situation:

Simple, just don't get yourself into such situations. Rather, just move on.
Stop over-complicating complicated things by simplifying them don't let your fear and paranoia fuel your passion live in the moment. And recognize when enough is enough for trying with a girl.
Some time ago, i was about to tell a amazing femfriend that i loved her, then i found out she was bi.
I then thought "the world gotta be made of dull bitches wich either are weaboos, or impossible to reach(age, sexuality etc.)", then i looked a bit closer at things, and found a new possible target.
Your thread inspired me to ask her out.
Men + Women = Sexual Tension [/thread]
I have long hair because I'm a metalhead.
Have I lost now?
Nah, its my passion...now I just gotta stop calling people by yelling, "HEY PUSSY".
