I enjoyed watching it. The hugeass Decepticon was fucking awesome.
To me, it's the mind blowing CGI that kept me in my seat (Optimus + Starscream + Megatron + Grindor = Fucking awesome fight), but other than that it was fairly average a film.
There are movies that are so bad that they're entertaining.
Transformers 2 is so bad, it's unbearable to watch.
Probably one of the worst movies ever made.

see? this shit... is what this thread is trying to figure out
No it isnt... Movies dont HAVE to be to a specification. I swear this section is starting to get a lot like how the music section used to be.
Be more open minded, so far nobody has pointed out the absolute flaws of the movie. 2 seconds of Comic relief doesnt make the movie crap. The acting wasnt even that bad.
Saying the plot was crap is too vague...
The hate so far has been 'it is shit' lets make some meaning out of it
if you want to make your characters at all believable, then acting is fucking important
2 seconds of comic relief? the move had so much "comic relief" i'm pretty sure it stopped being an action movie and turned into a comedy
then acting is fucking important

Batman Begins had no "great" performances... why was it such a great movie?
Movies like The Godfather need great performances due to intense characters and storylines.. this is about robots beating the shit out of each other
now what the fuck were we going to expect?
the first movie wasn't great because the acting was great... not fond of the story either. Yet it won numerous oscars and was praised. This movie took a new direction, not with the characters... but with the robots.
I didn't enjoy transformers because shia leboefsz gob was on screen.
The movie was Megan Fox and Robots and nothing else...
Why are people taking it so seriously?

You're a bloody idiot.
I much prefer the Transformers cartoon movie to either of the stupid modern movies. I hate the new look of the transformers personally.
My girlfriend and I both fell asleep in the movie theater watching Transformers 2.
That's how utter shit that movie was.
Transformers 2 was so boring.

The same reason you feel compelled to defend a truly horrible movie.
Probably one of the worst movies ever made.
What did you think of the first movie?
and I'm not being defensive, there have just been obscure comments that I'm trying to get my head around
What did you think of the first movie?
It was dumb.

This'll tell you everything.
Bandwagon?
First was great.

Too bad ur lying.
Transformers 1 was like Crysis. Sure, it was an average movie and it had no real surprises, but it did everything right and managed to tie it all together into a coherent and enjoyable experience.
Transformers 2 was terrible. The writing was terrible, the characters were terrible, the acting was terrible, the plot was terrible, the pacing was terrible. The only good scene was the forest battle (which was awesome), but it couldn't save the movie by itself. It didn't feel like a badass fighting robot movie. It felt like a merchandising opportunity.
Megan Fox, for example. In the first movie, her role was extremely minor. She was pretty much just the girl the protagonist won. You didn't really know her, but she was likable enough to be a sensible love interest. Do you remember her first scene in Transformers 2? It's her ass. That pretty much sums up her role, and is somewhat of a metaphor for the rest of the movie. In the first film, she was a generally likable character. In the second, she's a two-dimensional bitch who's really only there to have a nice rack to stare at.
I don't think Michael Bay has EVER made a good movie. Not even once. Transformers 1 only looks better because the sequel somehow managed to sink to the lowest possible depths of cinematic disaster. It would easily have been last year's worst film, except the BlindSide happened to come out in November. More of a disgrace than even the likes of Dragonball Evolution or fucking Wolverine. And no, I'm not kidding. A 200 millions dollar film is getting every POSSIBLE chance to succeed. To fuck that up so bad, you have to be a MASTER of cinematic failure. And at the very least there's no stupid crowd of morons trying to disagree that DBE or Wolverine were unmitigated pieces of shit. That's more or less accepted by everyone.
I don't think Michael Bay has EVER made a good movie.
I think the only cinematic terror that he has made was Pearl Harbour.
The slowing down of the movie gave more perspective of the scenes, I didn't think it was very effective, but I didn't exactly die with boredom when I watched it.
Are we suggesting that due to the immaturity in parts of the movie makes it terrible?

I dunno about you but I don't like looking at John Turturro's perfectly framed package.
I loved transformers 2. I love Megan Fox's ass :D
You're the kind of shallow person that T2 is made to appeal to. Besides the fact that Megan Fox cannot act, like, at all, she's not amazingly hot either. Looks like a pornstar, and not in a good way.

This is probably true. I could classify the Bad Boys films as being entertaining, but even they are by no means good films.

oscar worthy.. memorable... great... that -esque :smug:
Christian Bale and Liam Neeson were the soul of that movie. Doesn't mean they "performed" at their best level.
American Psycho for Bale
Schindler's List for Neeson
well?

No, his movies are made terrible by his shitty idea of what cinematography is supposed to be, his army fetish, his belief that as long as something explodes it means the plot is moving forward, and his complete lack of an artistic soul. Consider after all, he's a director, not a writer. While he can and does make alterations to suit his stupid whims (which tend to be as recognizable as a crowbar to the head) he manages to torpedo movies entirely based on how he said they should go.
I have never seen a Michael Bay scene trying to convey any mood other than "generic battle, raaaaa!" that didn't feel fake and chintzy. Any time he tries romance, it's utterly bland and usually dominated by some stupid pop song going on in the background. Example? "I don't wanna close mah' eeeeeeeeeeeeyes-!"
Please, unless it's mounted on a helicopter, Bay doesn't know how to do long shots, use tripods or keep the camera any less than 20 feet from the subject, and then usually while using the optical zoom. Oh, and everything happens at sunset, let's not forget. Because sunsets are AWESOME after all, as are LENS FLARES.
Y'know what Bay should direct? The Halo movie. That's the perfect film for him. Generic un-ironic solemn army worship against under-characterized alien bad guys with only slightly more characterized military badasses blowing them up in space armor. I'm sure he'd LOVE doing it, and Halo fans would eat it up. And the rest of us can watch it make inevitable millions while critics pan it and laugh at these douchebags. But at the very least, it'll keep Bay busy for a while doing something nobody worth taking seriously cares about getting ruined.

Both of them are fantastic actors. Just because it wasn't the best performances they've ever done doesn't make it a bad movie. It was a fairly good movie, mostly because instead of being 'Batman kicks ass' movie, it's a 'What makes Batman Batman?' kind of movie. It's pretty much the polar opposite of Transformers.
Transformers has a complex and fairly deep backstory that they could have explored, but instead chose to go the way of stupid comedy relief, putting Megan Fox's ass in the middle of the frame every five minutes, giving a Transformer balls (wat), and having a very stupid plotline in general, which is just a poor foundation to have robot fights.

Hey, the Halo storyline is pretty shit game-wise, but they have some pretty damn good books. Not all of us Halo fans are mindless, you know.
Too much cryptic shit and waaaay too much stuff to follow up on, ever heard of the Medicant Bias? exactly, too much so I gave up on Halo, that and the multiplayer community sucked dick.
make it a bad movie.
wait what the fuck?
I think its a fantastic movie (batman begins)
Needs more Hot Shot.
