I never said that. I said that I just prefer it to be cut.
Actually, you kind of did say that.
Because, some women find uncircumcised penises gross.
I've seen one in my life and was disgusted.
I presume you didn't continue to have a meaningful relationship with this man.
I presume you didn't continue to have a meaningful relationship with this man.
We weren't dating. :v:
Either way, not all relationships are sexual. If I loved a man who I found out was uncircumcised, I would continue to love him and grow to love his turtle neck. I apologize for wording my previous posts to make it seem like I wouldn't dare an individual based solely on their penis.
We weren't dating. :v:
I mean, by the tone in your voice, you sound like you would never have a relationship with any uncircumcised man.
you sound like you would never have a relationship with any uncircumcised man.
Of course I would. Again, I'm sorry that my wording was poor. It's was my fault for the misunderstanding.
I mean, by the tone in your voice, you sound like you would never have a relationship with any uncircumcised man.
I thought that too until I talked it over with Nicole over steam. It seems more like its just that she prefers cut, same way I prefer uncut. I have a feeling I'm less picky than her, though.
Your right, I didn't bother looking at every country, i simply looked at one of the most populous ones.
The population of Europe is over double that of the US. Australia adds a mere 21 million more to that number, but it still increases it.
Either way America is in the minority, and rightly so. There's no need to practice arbitrary circumcisions at birth just because something bad might happen.

I still don't understand why this (cut vs uncut) is a problem for females. I mean, okay, if you intend to be giving long handjobs or blowjobs then I could see how it might bug you if you're not used to it, but if the exposed penises that you're around spend the majority of their time in your vagina why should it bother you? You won't be looking at it during that time.
And as I posted on the previous page (or perhaps it was the one before now), an erect, uncircumcised penis looks pretty much identical to an erect circumcised one.

I'm not saying one is better than the other, its just my personal preference. Same way some people prefer brunettes over redheads. I just find them more attractive for no particular reason. It's not going to stop me from falling in love with anyone, though.
What are the positives to leaving the child uncirc?
What are the positives to circ?
Because so far, all I've really heard positively is that supposedly leaving the kid uncirc. means better sex pleasure in the future, which really isn't an issue, because other mind-problem reasons(uncirc doesnt know what it feels like to be circ. circ doesnt know what it feels like to be uncirc[unless done later in life, but that's not the issue here]).
But push that aside, and we have the issue of we shouldn't circ because the kid doesn't have the choice. Really, if circumcising will be more hygienic and prevent future medical problems, is letting the kid have the choice really important?

No one said it's more hygienic. As long as a person looks after themselves there's no difference.
And future medical problems? It is suppose to decrease the chance of HIV but as long as your not dumb with who you sleep with you should be fine with that.
And if it's for medical reasons, such as infection then you need to get it done. It's not a choice.
But having it done is just ridiculous. Males must have it for a reason. You're born with it. So why in hell do you want it cut off?

...Yes?
I am never going to get my child circumcised unless it has a medical problem at the time OF the decision.
i want my child to be able to decide whether they want their penis cut or not because of something that might happen, and who gives a shit if circumcision makes your penis easier to clean, if you really want to get your penis cut just for the sake of not having to clean it, that's ignorant.
Cleaning is as easy as pulling back and giving it a scrub, it's not like shower heads don't exist either.

It's lazy too.
It sounds to me like you're trying to defend it off of nothing.
"We were born with it, therefore it must have a reason"
We were born with appendixes, but they have no purpose anymore. They're "leftover from our plant-eating ancestors."

Same goes for some other parts of our body like wisdom teeth, back hair, etc.

Yes but this still has a purpose. It protects glands at the tip of the penis.
Wisdom teeth have a purpose. They're teeth. You use them to eat with. Lots of people still keep their wisdom teeth.
I am circumcised but was circ'd due to my foreskin not retracting successfully when urinating, and it prevented me from urinating altogether.
I am circumcised but was circ'd due to my foreskin not retracting successfully when urinating, and it prevented me from urinating altogether.
That's a valid reason. If it's not for such purposes it's pointless.

I do not understand how you can deem the foreskin (the tip) of the penis unnecessary when it protects the tip of the penis from a lot of things.

We don't use our wisdom teeth anymore, and if you chew your food ALL the way in the back of your mouth, then tell me I'm wrong. But in general, most people get them removed because they become painful and we don't use them.
Protecting the glands? I guess so. But we have full-body clothes now. Underwear does a more than decent job of protecting. I can understand if that's what it was used for with our ancestors

This is my first debate. Hope I'm doing decent.

Isn't that what clothes are for?
Isn't that what clothes are for?
What if you want to go swimming naked in a lake, what if you get something inside your underwear, what will you do when you don't have any clothes anymore?
[editline]2nd October 2011[/editline]
by that sense we can just remove all the skin on our body because we have clothes to protect us

I use mine. They're still grinding teeth. For plants.
So clothes aren't made of fabric which can rub against anything any more? I see.

No, most people have them removed because they don't come in properly due to a lack of room in the mandible or cranium for additional teeth. The jaw bone in humans has been shrinking over time.
If they're coming in fine then there's no need to remove them. In fact, if you have them removed and it's not necessary - hell, if you go under general anaesthetic for ANY reason and it's not absolutely necessary - then you're probably a complete moron. Nowadays it's pretty safe, but it's still a gamble and I wouldn't take it unless necessary.
This is like debateing about braces being morally wrong or not.
This is like debateing about braces being morally wrong or not.
Braces fix your teeth. They fix. Loosing a few teeth so that you can have the rest in your mouth. If you even need that.
You aren't forced to have braces when your born.

Circumcision keeps you from getting infections down there. Nobody is forcing you, just your parents.
Circumcision keeps you from getting infections down there. Nobody is forcing you, just your parents.
But you may not get infections!
And you don't get a choice when your a baby.
But you may not get infections!

No, but your parents do and as a child you belong to them. And of course you may not. There is ALWAYS a chance for infection on the human body.
No, but braces can still be forced upon you as well. Obviously not at birth but at a later point in life.
So you'd rather not have your teeth fixed for free?
No, but your parents do and as a child you belong to them. And of course you may not. There is ALWAYS a chance for infection on the human body.
I should get my eyes cut out as I may get an infection!
No, but braces can still be forced upon you as well. Obviously not at birth but at a later point in life.
Unless they are physically impairing you, you don't need braces! You can say no even when your a kid. I said no to braces. I probably need them but I'm not going to go through with the pain.
[editline]3rd October 2011[/editline]
So you'd rather not have your teeth fixed for free?
And that's not free! That's still being paid for by someone. Even yourself.
No, but your parents do and as a child you belong to them. And of course you may not. There is ALWAYS a chance for infection on the human body.
If a child is its parents' property and they can do whatever they like to it, why do we have child abuse laws?
You cant.. really.. say no as a child. Your parents can chose to listen to you, but until your 17-18 almost everything requires parental consent. If we listened to children, no one would receive immunizations, since a good 90% of kids are terrified of needles. You see, when a child is 13+ you can reason with them.. for the most part, their still incredibly short sighted, and can usually only see the pain that's about to be inflicted, but when their below 13, even if you reason with them, they'll still usually say no.
I disagree with 90% of children being afraid of needles. It's only the few outliers that make it seem terrible.
And I said no to braces and having my ear fixed. Any GOOD parent should give them a choice if it's only cosmetic, which braces are.
Which circumcision is mainly as well.
And a lot of parents refuse to immunize their children.
