i was scared of the dark when i was like 12ish but yeah... you get over it in time... you dont have anything to be scared of... untill your parents first talk to you about the birds and the bees.
Put small mini nightlights throughout the house, and honestly, remove those stupid paintings. Who the fuck want's pictures of some old man looking down at you, and some weird statue of Lincoln?
Embrace the darkness. Call Riddick to your house, he'll fix your paranoia.

im gonna hide in your house at night OP. and you know that when we are kids we are able to see whats real cause we dont have any believes and our mind isnt fully grown, that is the ability to see ghosts and whatever is in the darkness. remember that next time you go down there cause now that you know about this you might just trigger this and be able to see the reality.

Just don't sleep
Why did this require a bump?
How do you go to sleep?
You just have to face up to it, sit around in the dark at home, a place your familliar with so you know theres nothing there and youll gradually build up confidence against the dark. because theres nothing there. Your mind will play tricks on you, but theres nothing there.
I used to be scared of the dark, then I stopped being scared and started being awesome instead. Worked every time. Until I tricked myself into seeing faces in shadows, crazy shit :v:
Remember, When it's light, you can't see into a place that's dark, but when it's dark you can see what's around you a lot better. So if there's monsters, or bad people, you can see them. And if you're in the dark... they can't see you. And once your eyes get used to the dark, you can see all sorts of things around you really well. Pretty much that. Also, you need to close your eyes to see into the dark. You shouldn't let the fact that your eyes are impaired get you paranoid. Smack you back against a wall and hit the lights. Wait until you can see. Get up. Look around. Start walking around. Rinse repeat. The fact that you can see a little should mitigate the fear a bit. Once you realise that not only does the darkness not hold anything evil, but that it also protects you, you'll realise that you fear what's IN the dark, the unknown. That's a bit harder to overcome, but there's two ways that I know of. The first is my personal favourite and that's plain old imagination. The unknown is exactly that, unknown. So either imagine it's there to protect you, or imagine up monsters that are fighting to monsters trying to harm you. The second way to overcome this (and any fear) is exposure. The more exposed you are to something, the less scary it becomes. Just keep staying in the dark.
Don't be afraid of the dark. [sp]be afraid of whats in it.[/sp]
Stop being 9. Problem solved.
Put on a Cool Face. I don't think there's anything out there that can stand seeing a Coolface without running away like a pussy.
walk into the woods at midnight with 5 candles and incense you know what to do next
You won't see the dark with sunglasses.
don't play clue on a retarded TTT server.
A nightlight?
go outside at 1 o clock and just demand for whatever is there to show itself, and stand there for like 3 hours.
Dude consider yourself lucky, a creepy mansion, a douchie dad, a FUCKING MAID. I wish I had a Mansion, A dad, and a fucking maid....why do I never get nice things. *Sad Face* BTW...I felt the same when I moved into a bigger space, then I fucking realized Im not ganna be doing this my whole life so I just stopped caring. Like the great Mongolian Leader Ghengis Kahn, he once said (Or atleast in the movie I saw in "Mongol") that the reason he wasn't scared of thunder anymore was because he had no-where to hide. Take that in mind bro.
Play Amnesia Dark Descent
Play Amnesia Dark Descent
Definately do that, if you overcome that shit, you probably wont be scared of the dark ever.
Buy a camera with good night vision. I loved using one of those, pretending I was a navy seal in the middle of the night when I was young. It should help you overcome your fear.

I love the dark because I can see in the dark just fine.
