what are you doing asking facepunch this really ask a forum that isn't full of bigots and batshit christians
Such a forum doesn't exist.
It's not really a matter of opinion. The whole matter of Transgender revolves around the idea that you feel like you should be the other sex, regardless of whether or not you actually want to fuck dudes if you're becoming a woman.
I just find it funny that they actually think they become the opposite sex. They always stay what they were, just uglier.
I just find it funny that they actually think they become the opposite sex. They always stay what they were, just uglier.
They want to get as close as they can, and right now, science can do that to a certain extent.
perhaps you should go and do some actual research instead of playing amateur psychologist like 95% of facepunch likes to do. there are both biological reasons and deep-seated psychological reasons for wanting to change your sex that have nothing to do with 'hurp it's a state of mind get over it'. do you think schizophrenics should just 'deal with it, it's a state of mind'?
I don't think I said he should deal with it, I think he should seriously think through what he is doing. Changing your physical appearance will not change his gender, he will still be male no matter what and vice versa for his girlfriend.
Tell your parents to fuck off and accept your wishes, and if they don't want to, move out and cut off all ties.
what are you doing asking facepunch this really ask a forum that isn't full of bigots and batshit christians
That's the last thing I would say about FP.
Grab her cock.
Now that's overly optimistic. Your "mind" isn't above the influence of the body, it's often the body that directs your mind, especially when it comes to subconscious drives and instinct and the sexual drive is probably one of the most powerful one. You can't just wake up and say "Alright, starting today, I'll only feel sexually attracted to trash cans" and then force yourself. That's just not how the brain works. There are different compartments, some over which you have usually control. But even if you can move your legs and arms freely, there are reflexes that can make you spaz out and override any conscious commands. This is even "deeper" than simple reflexes like yawning which you can counteract (but not eradicate) if you put your mind to it. Sexuality is probably as close as you get to the root of instincts, your brain and body gets completely drugged by hormones there. Ever heard of people that felt dirty or like they did something wrong shortly after finishing their wank? That's the "brainwashing" wearing off and the consciousness "takes control" again. Really, we're not anime hero cutouts that just have to scream angrily and use willpower to overcome any obstacle presented.
Sorry I think I worded that a bit wrong, when I said "change" I did not mean the person themself change, most of our ideas and understandings come from outside influences, your personality being made from the outside influence of others and events in your life. I feel that almost any idea or thought can be changed by a traumatic enough event, whether it be positive or negative. However this is more of a personal hypothesis than an actual psychological idea. Either way a Gender identity crisis is a psychological disorder and one should seek psychological help before taking such drastic actions
let me lay this down for y'all: orientation is entirely seperate from gender (which is different from physical sex). you can be a gay transgendered person or a straight transgendered person or anything in between. you may have confused transvestitism (dressing in the other gender's clothes for sexual pleasure) with transsexualism (believing you are the other gender trapped in the wrong body; you want to change because that's who you are, not because that's how you get your kicks or anything). the latter can happen for any number of reasons, including the biological (such as androgen insensitivity syndrome or congenital adrenal hyperplasia), the cognitive (Bern's gender schema theory, Kohlberg), the psychological (androgyny, gender identity disorder) or the biosocial (i.e. driven to it by their upbringing, their peers or their culture). facepunch you are ignorant as heck so you better educate yourself before you wreckucate yourself!!
That's the last thing I would say about FP.
there really are some around, not many but they exist they usually show up in threads such as this
Dude. Hormones of any kind require minutely tuned dosages. They're really dangerous. NEVER buy them online.
estrogen and spiro are not at all that dangerous and it's pretty obvious how much you have to take if you do proper research unless you're diabetic or have any other kind of conditions, taking them without getting yourself checked first has potential to fuck you up if you risk it
or you could just to your doctor and get it done by an expert, for free (if you're in an enlightened country), with 0 risk and complete confidentiality
or you could just to your doctor and get it done by an expert, for free (if you're in an enlightened country), with 0 risk and complete confidentiality
You think people should be able to get gender changes for free?
i was talking about the hormones but yes they should
I strongly disagree, the person does not need to change their gender to function, they should pay for it.
They should. They definitely should. Denying people the ability to be who they really are just because they can't afford it is horrible.
They should. They definitely should. Denying people the ability to be who they really are just because they can't afford it is horrible.
No it isn't, I want to be super strong, if society doesn't pay for me to achieve this they're preventing me from being who I want to be just because I can't afford it.
If you both want to be different people, then just act exactly the way you want to, whether that's "girly" or "manly" There's absolutely no reason why you should get surgery or hormone treatment besides the sex, and by doing so you are guaranteeing that you will have a harder time looking for a partner after you break up with your current one. It's a stupid idea.
No it isn't, I want to be super strong, if society doesn't pay for me to achieve this they're preventing me from being who I want to be just because I can't afford it.
wanting to be super strong is not a mental disorder that can cause years or decades of misery and depression until it is fixed
If you both want to be different people, then just act exactly the way you want to, whether that's "girly" or "manly" There's absolutely no reason why you should get surgery or hormone treatment besides the sex, and by doing so you are guaranteeing that you will have a harder time looking for a partner after you break up with your current one.
No it isn't, I want to be super strong, if society doesn't pay for me to achieve this they're preventing me from being who I want to be just because I can't afford it.
When an operation comes about that can give you super strength, go for it. For now though, your example doesn't work.
wanting to be super strong is not a mental disorder that can cause years or decades of misery and depression until it is fixed ugh
Send them to a psychiatrist then
Send them to a psychiatrist then
they often are fyi psychiatrists aren't for fixing your gender issues
There's so much ignorance in this thread it's not that they want to be someone different. It's that they want to be themselves. They're trying to be who they're meant to be I can tell some of you are genuinely trying to help but the thing is, most of you don't understand. It's a complicated issue and no matter what you can't just ignore it. It won't go away. You're never going to be genuinely happy if you're stuck as a man but feel a girl. Sorry but if you don't know what you're talking about just don't post at all even if you're trying to help.
When an operation comes about that can give you super strength, go for it. For now though, your example doesn't work.
It's hypothetical, should the government pay for me to have it done just so I can feel better.
it's not that they want to be someone different. It's that they want to be themselves. They're trying to be who they're meant to be
Furries do too man.
It's hypothetical, should the government pay for me to have it done just so I can feel better.
having a gimmick fake operation called super-strength has nothing to do with becoming the opposite sex, you're just bringing the argument down to a level where it doesn't make much sense anymore [editline]20th May 2011[/editline]
Furries do too man.
ah yes the furries card too bad anyone with a brain won't give a shit
Furries do too man.
Being a furry isn't a mental disorder.
ah yes the furries card too bad anyone with a brain won't give a shit
What's the difference between wanting a different sex and wanting whatever furries want to be? [editline]20th May 2011[/editline]
Being a furry isn't a mental disorder.
Sure it is. If wanting to be the opposite sex is, then wanting to be a fur person is too.
What's the difference between wanting a different sex and wanting whatever furries want to be?
many many differences the biggest one being almost not a single furry is willing to go through an expensive and painful procedure to change into who they see themselves as
There's so much ignorance on facepunch
fixed it for you
