So ive been asked to train some of the guys in our platoon macp as the assistant instructor so they can get their level one. I had to help and spar with the LT alot who is 230 pounds of muscle, were still debating the winner, he choked out but I have a severe concussion.
Registered for the ACT and SAT. Guess I actually have to devote to studying for these things now. Anyone taken them already have any tips? I've done a legit practice test for both of them, I feel pretty confident but what do I know.
my fish died i gave him a honorary salute and sent him on his way of all the aquatic lifeforms i have encountered in my travels, his was the most watery
My fish is about to die. I have had him for many a years and watched him grow from a little tiny 2" nub to an 11" tornado of consumption. He has gotten really sick and there is nothing to help him. He has been inactive for the past few days and will probably die soon. :c

Apparently if I'd scored above a certain score I could have gotten a scholarship here though, do research on that. Guys, we should have a chat room or something. I am bad with girls, I met this girl who seems really cool and I cant to try and be her friend but I just sound weird.
Registered for the ACT and SAT. Guess I actually have to devote to studying for these things now. Anyone taken them already have any tips? I've done a legit practice test for both of them, I feel pretty confident but what do I know.
I've never taken the ACT but I have a good SAT score. Do a ton of practice tests, but personally, I'd find out which one I'm better at, and focus my preparation on that test. Might depend on how good you are at science. The math section in my opinion isn't too hard, if you've taken precalc you'll probably do fine as long as you have practiced. Do a lot of questions. Also, be careful not to be caught by trick answers. The wrong answers on the math section are based on common student mistakes, so don't make snap judgments or go for an answer that is really appealing without checking it first. If you're pretty good at math, it can be tempting to solve every problem, and then look at the answer bank, but on the hardest questions, it's probably faster to plug in answers and eliminate them one by one. For critical reading I'd say you should probably not spend a ton of time reading the whole passage first. I prefer to read the first and last sentences of each paragraph right away. If you do this you should have a fairly strong idea of what's going on in each paragraph. Then, on each question, go and look up the answer in the passage. Once you find it, try and read the sentence before and after to get some context, especially if the question asks you for the meaning of the word in context. I probably am not qualified to offer advice on writing, because I think the MC writing section is too full of tricky answers and generally is kind of iffy. This kind of thing should probably be taught by a qualified SAT coach or something. For the essay, I would recommend you avoid writing anything too extreme or anything that could be considered anti-American, mostly because the essay grader's personal beliefs might cause some sort of bias. Also, it helps to bring in examples from history, literature, and current events for the essay, although CollegeBoard claims that personal examples are fine. My preferred examples are the American Civil War, and the book To Kill a Mockingbird. One might think that preparing examples in advance limits what questions you can answer, but after writing the essay multiple times, I can say with certainty that any question can be twisted to fit your prepared examples. The SAT grading system docks 1/4 of a raw score point for a mistake, but does not if you leave a question blank(although you don't earn the 1 point for getting it right). This means that if you have absolutely no idea which answer is correct, you should not guess, because you'll lose more points (1.25) than otherwise (1). However, if you can eliminate two of the answers, you should pretty much always guess. IIRC, even eliminating one potential answer improves your chances enough that you should guess. If you can find the average raw score to final score ratios, then you can figure out how many questions you should try to answer and how many you should omit. If I knew more about the ACT, I'd be glad to help, but nobody at our school takes the ACT for whatever reason. If I were you, I'd do more research and see which test plays to your strengths.
nevermind not as awkward as I thought she gave me her number uhh but yeah I think a chat room server or something would be awesome for us but I've never set up anything like that.

Talked to my guidance counselor today about Army Warrant Officer program. She has put me on the ASVAB and AFAST test list. Cannot wait.
I need to register for the SATs too. I did around average on the PSAT but math is my worst weakness. I'm so slow at it too. I'm way better at English so other than having to study more vocab I should do pretty well on that. Also I need to talk to my guidance counselor about the AFA or ROTC, or what colleges I should look at as a backup. With the military budget cuts going on, my future plans were pretty skewed because I thought the AF would be a good way to pay for college since I doubt my parents have the money, my older brother is graduating this year.
The SAT sucked oh my god. 6 hours of pain. Worst part is I'm going to be taking it two or three times. I got a dead average score my first time a few months ago (granted I'm still a junior I guess).
I did a lot better on the SAT practice (not the PSAT, took that a long time ago) than on the ACT practice, mostly because the science section was killing me. The SAT website isn't letting me upload a picture to register. :c

On the topic of punk rock, I rather enjoy me some Dead Kennedys, Corrosion of Conformity, and Stormtroopers of Death. Not sure if they're punk enough for you guys, but I like it. On the topic of electronic music, I recently found this album and think it's pretty good. This is also another good one. This is also an amazing album. Bit of a funk thing going on. I would have gone to their show in Chicago not too long ago but it was 18+.
This is also another good one.
Just found out about Giraffage last week: That whole channel is a goldmine.
Personally, I think punk is one of those genres where people get too caught up in the "image" punk rock that they forget what punk rock really is. People get so caught up in this idea of punk rock... that they forget that this is also punk rock [editline]12th March 2013[/editline] but anyways, have some Flatliners

After two weeks of being at my new school, I FINALLY made some friends, and am no longer TOTALLY alone. Also, on a semi-unrelated note, I swear my package is getting bigger cuz my pants are getting tighter around the crotch area and I got major bulge going on a lot of the time and people are noticing [editline]12th March 2013[/editline] in a good way of course [editline]12th March 2013[/editline] I'm glad I could share this with all of you
Some of the same reasons why people like religion, it fits their personal sense of ethics on what's right and wrong regardless of a reality that increasingly tells them otherwise. I don't like durgz and booze because I find they make people suck hardcore, but I don't care if my friends and family use them or whatever. Only time they really piss me off is when people would rather get fucked up than hang out, which makes me feel like a shitty individual.
of course, that's understandable. I've never had alcohol in my life and I never intend to, it just doesn't look like a good time to me. I'm talking about people who hate it because the stereotype is that people who smoke weed are lazy and don't do anything with their life.
There is evidence linking adolescent marijuana use to diminished brain development, it just gets drowned out in 420 SMOKE WEED ERRYDAY bullshit here on Facepunch. Edit: It's still better than tobacco but all this MIRACLE DRUG nonsense is just that.
this is a good point too, there's idiots on both sides of every political issue. that said marijuana is awesome for medical uses, my 85 year old grandma tokes up to help with her parkinsons, my best friend to help deal with his depression and like I said earlier both my parents have their medical cards.
Daily Life V9 should be titled "In Memory of Taepo", when I saw the posts about the fish going away it reminded me of learning how to drive and driving home yesterday and just the day before there was a horrible car accident involving 3 fatalities, Mom and 2 Sons girlfriend of a son was unharmed but the driver that hit them is alive, I drove over the street where they had been struck and saw a huge stain of red on the street. It was still horrifying, may they rest in piece.
