I went a few days ago to see the new Twilight. I just felt like I wanted to see it on my own cause I really did like the first part. I couldn't help but feel weird from all the sympathy stares I received. WTF? Does everyone need a plus 1 to be perceived as normal in our society?
To be honest, I don't see any harm in going by yourself. People always say how they like to go with friends, but it really doesn't matter! You're not going to be sitting talking to your mates whilst the film is on are you? You would be sitting in silence watching, just as if you were on your own.
On a sub note, Twilight is a fucking epic film. New Moon; not so..
I waited a while after paranormal activities release so I could go alone and watch in an empty cinema.
Good stuff

GET OUT OF HERE STALKER.
Oh, I went to the movies alone, because sometimes there might not be a movie that a family member like my dad would not be interested in. Sometimes it's okay.
I wouldn't do it or at least not right now since I would get bored.
To your question, it's not "normal" because people at your age don't tend to do that, but it isn't "wrong" either
This reminds me of when I went to see newest Harry Potter with my friend, there were 2-3 little girls on the frontseats and yelling and screaming stuff (oh noes, Ron died (when he passed out)), untill a little boy from upper seats yelled SHUT UP very loud. :v:
I see nothing wrong with it. Especially since I don't have to worry about my friends talking all the time or texting.
A lot of the time I see a movie I go alone because none of my friends think it looks worth seeing. I'm a huge movie fan. So if going alone means shitty stares, than so be it!

I'm surprised the internet didn't crash from the weight of this heresy .

The only thing that would make that movie scary is if the theatre caught fire and your foot got pinned under the seat.
When i want to the "Clone Wars" premiere, i was sitting there, and there was some mom with her 2 4yr olds. No one else. It was a weekday 3-4 pm, so it was kinda normal, and i had like the whole place for me! yay!
But seriously, friends in a movie are good company for laughing at the jokes, but be sure to pick the ones that don't go to the bathroom every 3 seconds and want YOU to tell them what was going on, then there's the ones with annoying laughter, and the ones who are all the time talking during the movie.
It's normal and even better to go watch a movie alone, or go with friends that know how to behave in a movie theather.

Being alone didn't really make it scary but it added to the experience,
makes me wish I had my own home cinenema :(

Rather be alone, and masturbate in the theatre.
