So, I'm curious about what your school serve. For me, they have different stalls, which sell different kinds of food. The first stalls sells drinks. Sadly, no fizzy drinks because its against the school rules. Second is a malay stall, sells all sort of malay foods. They have specials for everyday. Monday-some spicy noodle called mee bandung Tuesday-Hor Fun. A chinese dish, but they made their own. Wednesday-Mee Siam [img_thumb]http://zaraney.webs.com/photos/My-luvs/killineys1.jpg[/img_thumb] Thursday-Laksa [img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d6/Laksa.JPG/800px-Laksa.JPG[/img_thumb] Friday- Tom Yam noodles [img_thumb]http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1019/1236098515_2c99e7d034.jpg[/img_thumb] The third stall is some shitty malay food stall which I don't bother. Their rice taste like porridge The forth is a chinese noodle stall. Quite a large number of people buy from that stall, but I think the noodles is shit. The fifth is the worst its some crappy chinese stall that sells all sort of werid shit. No one goes there, because they sell very little crap. The only popular thing is sushi there. The sixth is a mixed rice and vege stall. Pretty popular among the chinese in my school. And not bad as well. The seventh and final stall is a tibits stall, which sells all sorts of crackers and shit. Oh, there's a western stall. Really overpriced chicken chops, costing $2. Their food are always cold, but their burgers aren't that bad. I try to get pics tomorrow.
What the fuck is this. All we get is goop put onto a Styrofoam tray.
The food at my school varies, but generally, it is very good. We have sit down lunches Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and on Wednesday we have walk through lunch. So, let me get this week's menu: MONDAY Lunch Salad bar Turkey club sandwich Hummus Tabbouleh Pita bread Potato chips Apple crisp Matzoh bread Fresh fruit bowl TUESDAY Lunch Salad bar Zucchini keftedes with feta and dill California grilled chicken French fries (sweet potato) White sandwich rolls Wheat sandwich rolls Butterscotch brownies Matzoh bread Fresh fruit bowl WEDNESDAY Lunch Salad bar Fruit cut ups Bagels Linguine Tomato sauce French toast Canadian cheese soup Garden vegetable soup Chicken salad Bbq pork sandwich Grilled bbq kielbasa (tofu) sandwich Corn chips Rocky road brownies THURSDAY Lunch Salad bar American chop suey Gimme lean american chop suey Green beans French bread Lemon cookies FRIDAY Lunch Salad bar Hot roast beef sandwich Broccoli and cheese pie Mashed potatoes Peas White bread Wheat bread Oatmeal mint choc chip cookies Of course, as it is a boarding school, we have breakfast and dinner too, but as a day student, I don't eat either very frequently.
We have a Nathans, Subways, Pizza seller, Panini maker, Wraps, and REAL food that one would buy from an actual restaurant and eat or make at home. This is all at my college too.
my school is vegetarian so we cant have meat on the premisses we have occasionally nice meals, but half the time the food is either jacket potato or pasta with tomato sauce, i got sick of it and turned to the packed lunches, now i make amazing sandwiches like cheese and onion with salad creme and cream cheese and watercress.
I wish I could have gone to a vegetarian school, but I do think it's wrong to force all the other unwilling/uninformed kids to be a vegetarian aswell... Actually, no I don't wish I had gone to a vegetarian school...it's not that hard to be a vegetarian in a meat-eating school.
My school used to sell all sorts of soft drinks a few years back, but I guess some soccer mums complained about it and eventually they stopped selling them (mind you, if it were a financial decision it would of been a dumb one considering they were probably the best selling things at the canteen) however occasionally (a week every few months or so) the canteen will sell cans of pepsi max for $2.00AUD. Me? I bring soft drinks to school, and sell some for $1.50AUD. good profit (considering I buy them at 50c a can).
The potatoes at our school are basically water. They fill a huge vat with instant potato dust and pour water all over it. One time I wore my ushanka and passed out a case of Leninade, I am now known as the man of the people. :ohdear:
I didn't even know instant potato dust existed. That shit sounds NASTY.
The chefs at my school used to work at a restaurant, so the food is very good. At my old Elementary School we got USDA-approved food, which tasted terrible.
We usually get some shitty school food but sometimes we get motherfucking spaghetti bolognese with parmesan or even (i dont know how are those noodle-tubes called in english) with tomato sauce.
(i dont know how are those noodle-tubes called in english)
spaghetti?
spaghetti? [img_thumb]http://viewyonder.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/spaghetti.png[/img_thumb]
Nope, i mean pasta or pesta or hows that called. Tubes with nothing inside they're like barrel without lids.
pasta is called "pasta"
Ok i found what i meant.
penne? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penne [editline]26th April 2011[/editline] pesta isn't a word i recognise you also get pesto, which is primarily basil and olive oil. very tasty
Exactly!! ^ I love penne with pesto alot. It's even better than bolognese. Have you guys tried making noodles with bacon bits? It's orgasmic.
We just get generic school food, pies, mashed potato, chips, chicken curry that kind of stuff. I don't eat any of the cooked stuff their as I cannot be arsed waiting in the cue with the other mongoloids and sitting in the overcramped dinnerhall to have some random people I dont even know next to me. Its easer just to run to the sandwich bar and grab whatever they have and a brownie. Their spicy chicken salad sandwiches are nice, but the tuna is watery and revolting. The beef is always veiny aswell, which is revolting.
today i was hungry and i had a Mega Barm (2-3bacon (depends on lucky you are) 2 hashbrowns and 2 sausages)
This week we had.... Monday 9/5 ---------------- pasta Bolognaise, fullgrain-spaghetti Salladbar Fresh Bread Thusday 10/5 --------------- Fried chicken, Gravy, potato wedges Salladbar Fresh bread Wednesday 11/5 ------------------- Greek hamburgers with sundried tomatoes, tzatsiki, fullgrain rice Salladbar Freshbread Torsdag 12/5 ---------------- Tomatosoup with pasta, Fresh bread, cheese, fruit Fredag 13/5 ------------ boiled sammon, cold fish sauce, potatoes, lemon slices Salladbar Bread.....
