did you get dropped off of a fucking bridge when you were a child?
Uhh, that would kill him... :rolleye:
i didn't know facepunch cared so much about childrens movies
If those are childrens movies I'm Steve Buscemi.
I can't wait to see this. wind8ws told me how awesome it is this morning via text messages.
Jeez, I think they were laying it on a bit thick at the beginning. My DAD was in tears. Great movie, though.
They loaded that movie with tearjerk moments. it was ridiculous. Movie was awesome.
Shame I can't watch it in 3D due to my eyes. :( But I'll see it eventually.
I loved this movie, the dogs were just the best. The begging was just sad, the begging. you save this stuff till the middle or end
A team of movie makers that can successfully talk about consumerism, pollution, over-population, and over-reliance on machines with a main protagonist that can't even utter a single coherent sentence is excellent in my books.
This movie was fucking incredible.
It was an exceptionally good movie, it manages to say and express so many things without even using dialogue. Very sad. Very funny. Honestly, everything a movie should be. Also, the dogs provided a constant stream of hilarity.
The beginning really reminded me of that weird little game where you just walked a person from one side of a place to the other listening to this weird song while you steadily slowed down as you aged throughout your life and eventually died. Hrm.
Saw this last night; totally amazing movie. Definitely the best of 2009 so far. Most underrated scene: Dug fetching the ball. Everything he says in that scene is 100% perfect in every way. :v:
No, it all started with Toy Story.
no it didn't, they've been around for just over 20 years. Toy Story came out roughly 12-13 years ago [editline]12:56AM[/editline]
You all think those are as good as the first Pixars? Like the beginning of the desk lamp in the cartoon-short? Toy Story? A Bug's Life? C'mooooonnnnn.
well due to technology and in general expanded knowledgebase, it doesn't take as many resources, and so it's easier to make the movies, not a walk in the park by any means, but much easier and faster in comparison. that allows them to focus on story more. i do love A Bug's Life, in fact, i bought the blu-ray on the spot, and i love Toy Story even more, but because of nostalgia. really, if they were released as they were nowadays, in terms of story, they would not hold up too well in the box office. not that the stories are too simple, they're both actually relatively deep and metaphorical/representative of other stories (ie seven samurai), but not as emotionally driven as, say, Wall-E, Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc., or Up!. [editline]12:57AM[/editline] what i really cannot wait to avoid seeing and boast not seeing: G-Force. oh god that looked horrible.
Gforce makes me want to kill small animals.
Great movie. I cried. Loved the cloud short at the beginning too. Was one of my favorite Pixars of all time.
Haha, I saw this on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Fantastic movie. Previewed Movies sucked.
This doesn't come out til September in Australia...
I cannot wait to see it, I searched when it comes out in germany, too bad didn't find it since it re-translated means "up there".
I just saw it, easily one of the best movies I've ever seen. Pixar never ceases to amaze me, they just have it all. Their visuals and animation is the best in the business, they come up with great story lines, they're funny as hell and at the same time can be serious.
Pixar is indeed Valve in Movie Form.
Pixar is indeed Valve in Movie Form.
Pixar should make a new EXTREMEM GORE section, and then help VALVe to make a Team Fortress movie :v:
How would a Team Fortress movie go?:crossarms:
So yeah. Saw it yesterday. It was a really great movie. Pixar is still doing great, and considering this is their 10th movie, they really put a lot of effort into, it seems. And the 3D doesn't really distract, it seems to amplify the tone of the scene. Like if it was sad, you may as well take of the glasses, but if it was exciting, or happy, it kind of bounded about and you got some more depth perception there. Also, Toy Story 3 is apparently coming out. That could really sink or swim becuase Toy Story is kind of one of those things you think of when you think Pixar, and so if doesn't live up to everyone's expectation's it will bomb.
Loved the cloud short at the beginning too.
:raise: I didn't see this short, we got a Toy Story 3 trailer thing instead. What gives yo
