Thanks, but the only thing I got remotely happy with was the overall shape, the colouring was inadequate at best. And you can't really see his double-chin with the poor effort of a beard I made him.
Getting some faces right can be hard. Unless someone has some kind of distinct feature it's hard to get them right. I think I done Ed Gein, myself the Pope and Hitler but all have a feature that can be used to make them recognizable. The Kurt pic looks like Kurt, the eyes are the give away.
Over a month since I created this thread, almost two weeks since I posted something here, and well... That's about how long it's gone since I've drawn something. And this something is... I liked the way the hair came out (even if it's pretty poor excuse of such a simple technique), and the overall shape of the head. I'm probably going to redraw the whole thing, but it was fun doing it :)

I think the walking one looks pretty ok though, might be a bit 'feminine' or whatever.
Well, I've done some more on the character : [img]http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/549/character.png[/img] Added a crouching position, added the AK47 and the strange 'running' pose is now the fighting pose, also added a holster for the pistol. [img]http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/378/characterpistol.png[/img] And the holster for the pistol, is probably a bit hard to see though. One thing I like about the way our comrade works is his organised, methodical approach to things. I work with him on the morning glory stuff and the way he does things makes him easy to work with and easy to browse his work. Spriting and pixel art like this isn't really my expertise but I can appreciate the effort that has gone into this.
Well I've got to be honest, this stuff is far from well made and a complete re-do would probably be the best, but I've already started the 'project' and I've just have to live with the way they look right now.

Looks good, could look really nice with some smoothing of the animation and color refining, one problem I see it the legs don't come up to the front of the body so it looks a tad like it's shuffling. I've heard the best method to do a walking/running animation is to start with the the two frames of the leg being extended the most and then fill the gap between them with 4-5 frames. Don't hesitate to experiment with different colors too.
Do people seriously enjoy drawing sick stuff like this? :saddowns: Technically it's drawn pretty well, though.

I was thinking about using some more 'experimental' colours on this one, just had it coloured gray right now to distinguish between the leg closer to you and the one far from you. You can see how it was first meant to look like beneath the prototype legs, it made for some really awkward walking though so I reversed them and went with the design I have right now.
