Should I activate the self-updater?

At least groups are not gone. Most of my friends are in the same groups as I.
anyone who has restarted steam since the last update has the bug. It's not deleted your friends list, the community's just fucked up.

nothing wrong with mine
Good thing most of my friends are on facepunch, even if my friends did not get wiped.
I still have my friends :)
Restart steam then, Citizen.. :ninja:
I hate this!
Same thing, I restarted Steam and still not showing friends. I hope Steam can restore to an earlier time.
Some people are having their games removed, consider yourself lucky if they're all still there
I just wish Steam would let us know what the fuck happened, and how to fix it. It would be better than leaving us in the dark. But I fear the only way to "fix" is to add everyone ourselves. I picked the worst. fucking. day, to want to reinstall Gmod.. but how was I supposed to know this shit was going to happen? No one knew. At least all of my games are still there.
nothing wrong with mine!
