Dear Damian, 2015.... sort of just flew by. Shit's weird, you know? That whole memory problem you have is going to fuck you over in the long run. Even now, I don't know in what year I did what in the last few years. Everything still seems like it happened the other day. You have to find something to curve that. Get into high gear in terms of school, you nerd. You've slowed down in your studies this year, allowing yourself to get Fs. You need good grades for a good higher education. Also, you'll have to decide what you want to study; next year is your last year in high school, so you'll have to decide soon. Continue being social, you made a few more baby steps this year. Try to learn how to cook this year, you'll really need it. Try to become less lazy than you currently are. And don't die, I swear. Remember, out there, there are people who care about you. Yourself included. Yours truly, Damian
So, the year has passed. It went by just as fast as last year. That whole memory problem is gonna be a bitch, but I honestly don't know what to do about that, so we might as well leave it to fate. My grades haven't improved much since you wrote. A virus in the area left me sick for two weeks this semester, and everything I had to catch up on just piled up. Things have just been getting worse honestly. No extra progress has been made in the social front. I did something, but the amount of things I did didn't increase since last year. Disappointing, I know. Now... --- Dear Future Me, I know that you feel stressed right now. You've changed quite a bit since last time, and so has the world around you. Your studies have got you bogged down, especially as you seem to be afraid of being wrong. You know that the teachers know you well enough to know that when you get properly ready for a test or a oral exam, you knock it out of the park. So, for both our sakes, loosen up a little. But that is only covering half of the issue. As a result of that very same stress and fear of being wrong, you don't find the will within yourself to study as much as you did before. The times ahead are scary, but you have to persevere. Doing so will only make you stronger. The end of high school is coming, and with that has to come the beginning of higher education. And you yourself know that the topic of what you want to study will only magnify itself as that day draws near. But you managed to talk about this and got yourself a gap year to figure yourself out. You know just as well as I do that in today's society that degrees are what allows one to move forward in life. For both our sakes, you have to figure out what you want to do in your life. Just remember that it has to be something you enjoy. Don't just get a degree for the sake of money. As long as you enjoy that profession, things will be fine. I could talk about the usual stuff like being social, learning how to cook, becoming less lazy, remembering your loved ones and caring for them, not dying, etc, but you don't need me for that. Just do something about that stress, please. It's eating at you from the inside and crushing you. You need to find someone to talk to about this, even if it is a psychologist, it doesn't matter. Just don't bottle things inside anymore. It wears you out. You can't find enjoyment in most things anymore, and just find everything to be a waste of time, from playing games to take your mind out of things, to even studying. You have to bring joy back into your life. And most importantly, don't be afraid of the big question ahead of you once you finish high school. It may decide your fate, it may be something you would never be able to ever truly take back, but that's life, you know? If you could change anything about yourself, then that wouldn't be you. Your experiences wouldn't be the same, what you know and how you apply that knowledge would be different... you wouldn't know the same things as those different yous. So, raise your chin and hold your head up high, be glad you had reached to this point in your life and be cheerful about facing the question, alright? You need all the optimism and positivity you can get. At the very least, you're a gold now. Enjoy it while it lasts. Sincerely yours, Damian.

I mean it's 6th now but what the hell, here goes... Dear future Me, 2016 was a hell of year. You changed alot, grew and evolved as a person. It wasn't always a smooth ride but you got back up each time you got knocked down. Despite all the chaos you pulled through and lived to see the start of 2017. You finished school, you got two jobs and you've met alot of new people. When you're reading this hopefully you've finished your medic training, hell, maybe you're about to begin basic training with the SAF or maybe you've climbed farther up the company. Regardless of what have happened, how you feel or where you are I hope that you never forget these things: - Family comes first. - Never stop fighting. - Don't be too hard on yourself. - Don't be too judgemental. - Keep treating people with respect. - Don't be afraid to try new things. - Don't be too afraid to live life, you only have one. - Never forget how far you've come. - Never forget the people who didn't make it this far. - Never forget to appreciate what you have. I hope that 2017 will be a blast for you and filled with new experiences. I hope you meet new people and hell, why not a girl or two. Stay safe. Kind regards, L
Hi DicTac, do you have a new car yet? Maybe a decent Subaru or something? You're a bright kid and keep pushing yourself to achieve greatness. P.s. I'll have you know I've been watching you for the past 23 years so don't fuck up or I'll frown upon you for eternity. Love, TicTac
...Game? What game. Damnit I should have clarified. Anyway, new message for 2018 self. Did you get your Ps? How is your stomach fat, is it gone yet or at least thinner? You on the pills yet? Is the Switch and Breath of the Wild good? Did you screw up any friend ships yet? You better not have. Anyway keep up the good work, don't screw me over.
I figured out what I meant by Game. The game we were developing. Haha I guess we didn't finish it. Anyway to the questions. I got my Ps (finally), my stomach is just....loose skin, and it's started to thin out. Nah I stopped taking the Pills, realized it wasn't for me. Switch and BOTW is fucking amazing. And as for screwing up friendships? Eh, I tried a few times, wasn't really successful unfortunately.
hope you made rent dickhead
Hey future me. I hope things are just as good as they are now with your current career and wonderful partner. Hopefully you've picked up your reading speed and atleast gotten something into space by then or atleast built some cool gadgets and made more of a life for yourself. Hopefully you're still comfortable around family and are building up to be more ready for when you finally come out. Finally, keep treating you-know-who the best, they're the best thing in your life thus far and I hope you continue to grow closer. Godspeed you adorkable man, Past Me
I'm happy to report that besides reading speed staying the same, you`ve found a better job and became even closer to you know who so much that you moved in together! Happy 2018 you lucky adorable man!
Yo Are you still happy? Because at the time of writing this you're in a very good place in life. Did you graduate from school? I know you're worried about that. Where are you going in your summer vacation? Are you gonna study after you graduate? I really hope you didn't fuck things up. Alright my dude peace, have a good year
Things got fucked up man, First six months of 2017 were hard. Broke up with your long term girlfriend after a LOT of fighitn and misery. Lost you purpose in life after a while, made plans, failed those plans. But after that, things slowly started to go up again. You made some great new friends, people that REALLY care about you, you went to your first festival and after that on a vacation to Italy. You saw your favourite artist live 2 times in a row, and met some good people there as well. Your entire style change for the better, and all in all you're so much more confident and happy then you were ever before. 2017 was good, even if a large part of it was shitty
Future me, 2017 was one of the worse years of my life. Let's hope 2018 is better. PS finally finish a game for once.
So no job, no money, no nothing right now. That's cool mush, still so much time to get things sorted. Hopefully you can get a temp job for the meantime and get that military role sorted out, so get fit. Don't worry about finding a missus, that's not a priority for us right now. Didn't leave a message back in 2016, but hopefully this will be enough to get completed this time next year. Best of luck!
Got job, got money, not sure what something else is but still no someone to spend it with. It's not like that's important anyway. 2017 had its ups and downs but damn son, you've progressed. I'll keep it up for you!
I really hope i wont be on this site long enough to read this message
fuck
Heyo. How's the computer I built you a month ago still holding up? Did you finally build it to spec? I had to cheapen out on some things after I quit my job. Did you get another job? Is it better than the last one? College when? GF when? Did you finally fucking finish RP_Darvishigh, The blender scripts for Halo:CE, and that Duke3D level? Did you get any further with your upcoming custom Halo CE campaign "Halo: Odyssey", or is it still a bunch of loose sketches and ideas, you procrastinating fuck? Are you as baked as I am?
-I finally added an SSD. Besides that, pretty good. No hardware failures yet. -Besides the SSD, not really. -Yes. You do night stocking at a supermarket. I hope you have your shittin' pants on, because retail is gonna be a wild fucking ride. -No college yet. -No GF, but your personal skills are slowly improving. -Nope. Job ended all of that. -Nope. Job ended all of that. -Nope. Will be later though. oh btw I got you gold. You're welcome, fucker.
So... it's been another year, huh? First of all I hope everyone in your family is ok. You don't need to deal with that bullshit, at least not yet. You have probably finished studying at university, congratulations! I hope your employer kept their word and raised your salary because of this. What about your big project on work? Did you finish it? Of course you did, let me ask a better question - is it being used by anyone? I hope it is because if it's not then you wasted several months of your life. I hope you finally got better at reading sheet music and some basic improvisation. You know, it's time to start being somewhat good at it. Also I hope you finally able to sing those fucking high notes without strain. Have you saved at least some of the money for your trip abroad? I know it's hard to do with your salary, but I really hope you've managed to do this. Please say you've got better at 3D modelling. I watched so many tutorials, it's time to use this knowledge. Have you finished the model I started working on back in august/september 2016? Well, I think that's it... Are you ready for 2018? It's going to be an interesting year for your country - it is the year when we will see if something will finally change. P.S. I wasted an hour writing this. You better have some good answers to those questions.
- Thankfully everyone is ok. - Yep, not everything went according to plan but in the end it's close to being what I wanted. - It's being used by some people. But it can be called failed because of stuff which was out of my control. - Reading sheet music and improvisation? A bit better, but the difference is no where as good as I want it to be. Singing high notes? Better by a lot. - Money was pretty tight in 2017 so no. But I have some travel plans for this year anyway. - Haven't had much time or desire to do anything serious or finish any models. But I've got better at texturing! And I can already see that in 2018 nothing is gonna change in Russia. :hypeisnotreal:But I'm looking forward to 2018 because I plan to make pretty big changes in my life this year.
2018 Coyote replying to 2017 Coyote:
2017 even more so, I hope.
(Context: Animation skills) - Haven't improved much, but then again I haven't been doing it much as professionally I've worked a lot more with motion capture than handkeyed things. I'm probably just rusty now.
Well, I went from an in-game animator with no real say who did occacional cinematics to full-time cinematics & marketing go-to guy with tons of responsibilities, frequent overtime and lots of international travelling. I'd say it's going good. :vs:
I'm now more overworked than the year prior, I feel constantly undermined, and I've burned out several times. I also developed a crippling flight anxiety. So not really good at all, no :vs: 2018 Coyote to 2019 Coyote: Heyo! So, how did it go? Did you actually go back to school like you thought you might? If not, are you still burned out? Did those weeks off help anything at least?
Hey there, Ezhik. Who will you be when this year is over, I wonder? 2016 was better for you. But we still live defined by the year that came before that. It's hard to analyze exactly what happened to you and me then, and I don't really want to. I managed to walk you from absolute despair to nihilism to actually looking forward to something. Please make use of this. You have something to look forward to. Keep this image close to you, and believe that you can get what it shows. I know you can do it. Your friends know you can do it. Your family knows you can do it. You know you can do it - you know it, but you don't feel it. What else... You're obviously still learning Japanese, I know that much. I hope you can focus on your actual major, and I hope your new life is better than your last one. I'll see you only after your second big transition, and I really hope I can make you proud so that we can be in the place we want to be. Love, Ezhik of 1/3/17 6:16PM GMT-08 P.S. I ended up where you wanted me to be, and I am doing well. You did a good job.
