When did not believing in some being in the sky make you wear a fedora? I didn't even know what the fuck the difference between agnostic and atheist is because who gives a shit. Still not really sure what the difference is. I don't believe in any gods because there is no evidence, is that agnostic or atheist?
it was supposed to be a joke to begin with
There is a sort of spectrum that you can be on with regards to religion. As far as I know an agnostic atheist would be someone who doesn't believe in god but doesn't claim to know for sure that god doesn't exist.
I don't see how anything other than 0 on that scale can be 'straight'
I mean, do you legitimately want me to answer that, or do we just want to move on?
EDIT: Okay, since there's an agree, I'm going to explain it. The Kinsey Scale operates on the principle that sexuality isn't a binary, but more of a sliding scale. In the 1940s, Alfred Kinsey and his colleagues conducted research into sexuality in both hetero- and homosexual subjects, and they found that while outward sexuality (actions, identity, and presentation) is often divided into either exclusively heterosexual or exclusively homosexual, internal sexuality (thoughts, desires, attraction, fantasies) can be both heterosexual or homosexual even in individuals that otherwise consider themselves to be exclusively hetero- or homosexual.
If sexuality were a true binary, having homosexual thoughts as a heterosexual person would mean you were actually homosexual, and a lot of other psychologists approached the problem that way. Like Freud. The Kinsey scale is sort of where we get the idea of bisexuality, but also of incidental homo- or heterosexuality, which presents externally as exclusive but internally is somewhat mixed.
And while it's easy to just say that people who don't fit into the binary are bisexual, that doesn't work in all, or even most cases, as bisexual people are usually closer to the center of the scale than the edges. So we wouldn't call a committed family man with a wife, two kids, and a picket fence a bisexual, but he might have some attraction, however minute, to the same sex, so we have the sliding scale to account for that.
And, of course, there are other representations, like the Klein grid, which encompass more of the possible sexualities. If you want to learn more, I'm sure you know your way around Wikipedia.
If you're wondering why I know this, my department has mandatory diversity seminars.

I didn't say "Being OK with having a gay relationship", but i know what you're saying.

It's either let him have a monopoly or have another massacre after having to deal with the Rust subforum, and this is preferable.
That gender imbalance, China ain't got shit on us.
The humanity is about to get wiped by a mysterious force, and only Facepunch knows how to defy it.
Cue BattleTanx come true.
Not surprised that we basically have the demographics of reddit.

I voted for you because you were the only mod I ever saw in my first years here, and you always seemed pretty cool even if I never posted back then.

I appreciate the response but I get the scale. the thing is the married man example's tiny homosexuality would be what, 0.1? so I guess I'd correct my assertion to 'anything above 0.5' or something
I mean you said 1-2 for yourself. well 1.5 on a scale of 6 is basically 25% gay :v:
but I guess I can understand it more when you say its internal? the way it's listed as 'more than incidental behaviour' seems to imply that a 1.5 would typically be into girls, but enjoy the occasional brojob - I think that falls into most people's definition of bisexual. but if this is all about the thoughts/subconscious I can see your position
oh wow being gay makes me an extreme minority
literally expected like 40% or more of FP to be gay
yall gay

I imagine because putting yourself forward to moderate the absolute hell hole called Sensationalist Headlines is worthy of a commendation.
I'm surprised that Catholics make up the biggest religious group on Facepunch (if we exclude atheists and agnostics).
Where all the Catholics here at?

I actually think sexuality could be more fluid than that. Not only can it be to a different degree from person to person, but could most probably change throughout the years or even on a daily basis.
I really don't see any views or ideas as black or white (brains are not binary), but we often just generalize or lump things together, just because it's easier.
Although I really would have no idea what 'incidental homosexual behavior' would be. Is that when you accidentally walk in on a friend pissing, and you momentarily stare directly at their cock? Or, accidentally getting aroused when it's only you and your same gendered friend on the couch?

I think at one point that was true, there even used to be an annual UK camping trip.
I wonder how the country data from this compares to the google-analytics data. Probably less non-native english speakers in GD then the forum average.
im surprised we have more transgendered people than females
There's quite a few people on the site who have a history of actively driving away any user who has the gall to say they're a girl even when it's completely relevant to the discussion. Also while it's a lot more common now, in the past guys were a lot more likely to play video games than girls. And transgirls, being raised as guys, are thus more likely to have grown up playing games as well. (And likely seeing them as a form of escapism too.)
