Awesome. Now we just need the fuckin' album... Also note how most of the guitars are THE EXACT SAME guitar, sans color. Ibanez JEM's. I guess the airy, wintry Tele is gone :saddowns:
do you guys know any more cyber metal other than a dark halo or sybreed?
do you guys know any more cyber metal other than a dark halo or sybreed?
These aren't all 100% cyber metal, and not all of them are melodic death metal (so their relevancy to this thread isn't full), but they're what I settle for when I go to sate my thirst for cyber metal. LINKS Posted by relevancy, with the most cyber-ish at the top, and least cyber-ish at the bottom.
You are a god. Seriously. I cannot thank you enough for all the bands you've introduced me to.
Quite honestly, Kalmah is the best example in the OP of the kind of melodeath I like most from OP. But I'm not a huge Kalmah fan(still good though) View YouTUBE video http://youtube.com/watch?v=e5IpHczLeV8 Insomnium are my favourite melodeath band, most definitely. This band Oh goddamn this band They're absolutely fucking amazing. Just listen to the opening riff (doesn't start till about 40 seconds cos the video has that intro thing.)and tell me you don't cream yourself right there :frogc00l: Insomnium have easily my favourite guitar in any band ever, and the growls are great. The riffs are just astounding. May well be my single favourite band, but I don't like to pick a single one :v: Also they're Finnish. One thing I love about this band is that you can listen to them loud and rock out to them, but you can also listen to it reasonably quietly, and relax to it, they're really something.
I more or less creamed myself over the sound of those drums ::3: [editline]09:34PM[/editline] What does Scar Symmetry come under?
Wintersun!
Oh fuck, not again. Why did you have to remind me of Time! It just makes the wait harder :( It's going to be fucking awesome to hear Jari and Teemu play together!
Scar Symmetry are Modern Melodic Death Metal. Their cleans are beautiful :3: Also Goddamn, I've never got round to listening to Imperanon before, they're great. Sounds like Petri Lindroos while he was in Norther. [editline]04:34PM[/editline] Also yeah I am going to fucking go insane if Time isn't out next year, seriously. And they better TOUR LIKE FUCK because they have sooo much touring to make up for.
When Aleksi was in Imperanon, they sounded abit like Norther. Now that Aleski is in Norther, they(Norther) sound different..
Oh it's him? Cool. While he isn't quite Petri, he's a damn great replacement. [editline]04:53PM[/editline] also for those who don't know it Pretty fucking disrespectful of him to change the lyrics though :|
Yeah I agreed man..but then Norther just dont feel like Norther without Petri (something I should be over with right now but hell I can't) I remember posting this before but this is for those is too lazy to read the pages before If you wanna download the latest single
Yeah I totally agree. Petri WAS Norther, and he was the only remaining original member. How can they still call themselves Norther without him :| Also are Jukka Koskinen- Wintersun and Norther's bassist- and Pasi Koskinen- Frontman of Amorphis between the late 90's early 00's, and of various other bands, brothers? I know Koskinen is a common Finnish name but damn they look alike. [editline]05:27PM[/editline] also on the topic of Norther, I fucking LOVE THIS SONG I AM THE DEATH UNLIMITED AND DEATH IS ALL I HAVE TO GIVE I'LL TELL YOU THE MEANING OF LIFE IT'S NOT TO LIVE, BUT TO DIE I AM THE DEATH UNLIMITED AND DEATH IS ALL I HAVE TO GIVE LET ME SPILL YOUR SWEET BLOOD AND TO YOU I AM GOD :rock::rock:
The most epic and my favourite part is at 1:05..hehe and the Koskinens I dont think they are related but come to think of it,they look alike.Well what can you say,the Swedish and Finnish have similar first or last names especially sometimes together in the same band.
Now, I know this genre is usually looked down on by true metal fans, but is there any 'melodic deathcore'? I've found only one band that fits the bill. I figured this thread is the best for asking.

A Canorous Quintet reunited a few years ago, but they changed their name. They're This Ending now. Also, I bought my ticket for Amorphis last night fuck yesss :frogc00l: Ghost Brigade are supporting, as well as Orphaned Land. I know they only released a demo but I want to know how they sounded like.

Glasgow, Scotland. I live in Edinburgh though so my parents are driving me there. It's like an hour to get there :c still, totally worth it. Also. Good fucking news guys http://www.nuclearblast.de/showDynamicPage.php?ident=newsdetail&nid=3703 Amorphis have announced a new album, they just started recording it. Set for release in 2011. It's going to be a followup to Skyforger.

[editline]12:40AM[/editline] Ehh, probably was the recording of that new song. Hopefully they do one soon though.
I used to associate metal with AC/DC, a band that I can't stand because of the shrieky vocals, so for a long time I thought I didn't like metal. Then I learned about melodeath through Amorphis and later Insomnium. Now I like metal.
Blood Stain Child would be releasing another album too on 2011.
Hm. I'll keep an eye out for this one. I didn't particularly like Mozaiq (their latest album) as a whole, but FREEDOM was an incredible track.
Just get the train with me like a normal person :v:
I would but I'm going to 5 concerts and it costs £12 for both trains so that's £60 just on trains. Can't afford that. Going to Job For A Cowboy DevilDriver (ELUVEITIE SUPPORTINGGGG  main reason to go but DevilDriver are a good band too_ Amorphis  Arch Enemy Bullet For My Valentine (But this I'm going with friends and one of my friends bought my ticket and stuff for my birthday so I'm losing nothing on this one) Costs about £60 for all the tickets, and another £60 for trains is just too much.
I'm pretty sure Insomnium are working on one too. Let me check. [editline]12:40AM[/editline] Ehh, probably was the recording of that new song. Well that means I have to buy 2 albums soon. Goody!
