been having an insomnium buzz recently
I'm always on an Insomnium buzz
That is their best song imo. Well that and The Killjoy Ill-Starred Son and In The Groves of Death and The Elder and Weighed Down With Sorrow
etc
They are a consistently amazing band. Listen to them all the time on my mp3 player.
that's awesome. went nuts when they played that live
If you don't like Mortal Share, you shouldn't be listening to Insomnium.
If you don't like Mortal Share, you shouldn't be listening to Insomnium.
even for someone who isnt used to melodeath mortal share is awesome
:iia: i got my stepdad into Insomnium by showing him the video to Down With The Sun, because I want trousers like the singer has and I found them to be the best example. And I know nowhere to get alternative sort of clothes so yeah
Now he is a fan :frogc00l:
Oh Jaari. Just read the last page of the booklet from Ensiferum's album Iron. It's where all the members write a list of who they would like to thank.

Getting sick, singing in cough and throat ache, money problems, bills, taxes, guitars out of tune, equipment breaking, computers (love & hate relationship), month without sex, stress, hurry, sleeping problems & early wake ups, drinking alcohol rarely, parties without me, holes in my shoes, rain, waiting (especially in hospital), short sound checks, shitty pizzas, bad hangovers, dishwashing, doing laundry, dreaming, 9 to 5 jobs, Sounday & Monday, pain, coldness, missing episodes of Bold and the Beautiful, HKL, TB, 3/4 lungs, the amount of humans, life...
I introduced my friends to Insomnium and melodeath in general. All except one are hooked on it. /flex
I don't understand how people can hate it. It's too good.

I lol'd
I think lots of people get turned off by the name. When people who aren't into death metal, they generally think of stuff like this:

so it's understandable that people don't like it. But honestly I wouldn't really call the majority of melodeath death metal. I mean, In Flames and the like sound nothing like death metal in any way, shape or form really. Completely different riffage, drumming isn't all machinegun aggression, singing is a different style etc
Bands like Insomnium, Be'lakor etc do retain more of a death metal style, but really they're still not that like it.
I didn't like death metal at first but dying fetus was one of the few i loved :v:
Dying Fetus is great!
Dying Fetus never appealed to me :v:
I preferred Decapitated.
Obscura :h:
Fell off front page, must post music.

Credits to gmod for posting this band before.
so i learnt that one of my friends sisters has awesome taste in music and she showed me this band today

They're not really straight out melodeath, more groove/death but I think it fair to call them melodeath as well

I know this band, they are more of an Industrial Death Metal band but I dont listen to them much to actually call it a Fact!
Edit: anyway another song just to keep it in the first page

That Daath song was nice. I enjoyed the drumming a lot.

I wonder how they gonna sound like with their new album without Jesper although I dont doubt Gelotte's skills.

EDIT: Yeah, I'm excited now.
Yeah. I just had a random feeling that if I checked In Flames' MySpace, I would see news about a new album that I previously heard nothing about.
Sure enough, the day I checked was like two days after they posted that they entered the studio for a new album. :frogc00l:
Soilwork. Nuff said.
I wonder how it will sound
I wonder if they've gone back to a more heavier sounding style.
We can all only wonder
Soilwork are one of the bad supergeneric melodeath bands
I don't really like bands like Soilwork because they sound the same as EVERYTHING ELSE
