God fuck, good bands never come to Australia except for the shows where I have to travel 1000km to get to. I'm moving to Europe when I finish school.
Im going to move to Finland if that's what it takes to see some good bands.

I don't really like melodic death metal, but I do enjoy Amon Amarth.
They are more of a death metal viking metal rather than a folk metal viking metal......
Amon Amarth are melodeath. Nothing else. They've even said themselves that they play melodeath.
Viking metal is technically melodeath with viking themed lyrics.

And yes, that song is fucking awesome. I prefer Der Ewige Sieg though. Got an awesome bit of musical genius at 0:40.

Imperanon, they only released one album, but it's so awesome. I think I posted them before though.

(all their songs sound the same)
And all their songs sound like Children of Bodom (and Norther :v:).
For what they are, they're okay, I suppose, though.

Guyssssss
Children of Bodom are doing a big tour next year in April. Ensiferum and Machinae Supremacy are supporting, and in the UK Amon Amarth are as well
I'm not a big CoB fan, but Ensiferum and Amon Amarth own and Machinae Supremacy are cool stuff.

Look how close all those show are, that would be like having a band play in 10 cities in one state. you should go to all of them!
No one ever comes to where I live :saddowns:
Which is where?

No-one comes to where I live either. You're not alone.
Holy shit.
Not a huge fan of CoB, but I would really like to see Amon Amarth.
Despite my general aversion to moshing, I'm very tempted to go to the Manchester one.
Moshing is awesome

It'll be finished by the end of this month, then they've just got mixing to do! :buddy:
Hi everyone! It´s been a while.
I´ve been working very hard with the synths&orchestrations and I can finally say that I´m feeling very positive about finishing this long and gruesome task by christmas. So hopefully around the end of December I can finally start mixing the album. I still have a few vocal parts unfinished, but I will be singing them meanwhile I´m mixing.
The only problem about the mixing is that my current computer gear simply cannot handle these insanely huge projects. And the other problem is that I have no money for new gear. So we have discussed about this problem with our label&management and they have agreed to help us with an advance to buy new and more powerful computer gear, but only if we agree to play a few shows and show people that Wintersun is still alive. So after carefully weighting all the different possibilies, we think we need to play these shows to help the completion of the album.
The shows will be for now:
Metalfest (3 shows)
Metalcamp (1 show)
There´s lot of work and preparation to do for these shows, ´cause we have to update our live gear as well, sort out technical difficulties and of course rehearse the songs. This will most likely affect negatively with the mixing schedule, so I can´t give any predictions with that yet. I also need to try out the new computer gear first and see how it handles these projects. The software is still not 64-bit, so the "infamous 4GB RAM limit" might also be a problem with the mixing, since these projects already eat about 3GB without any plugins. But I will do my best to overcome this challenge the fastest way I can.
See you at the gigs! Who knows, we might even play one new riff… I mean Song! ;)

How long does mixing usually take?
Knowing Wintersun's luck, about three years. :v:
:v: Probably lol.
In Flames discovered trance?

I'm pretty sure I've heard that before. It's good.
But it doesn't remind me of In Flames at all.
Just the singer really. Sounds a lot like Anders.

But you can't listen to the music if you're trying to stay on your feet :v:.
I like the Blood Stain Child song, already have it. The rest of the album, however, is very... eh.
Reposting Insomnium's Across The Dark signed by Ville Vänni and Niilo Sevänen, since this is the right thread :v:

Virginia. The only things that have ever come here that I'd want to go to have been Roger Waters' The Wall, and Rush.
And on both of these occasions, I couldn't go anyways
I am soooo going to see Roger Waters do The Wall next year
I'm going to need a job to pay for all these concerts
Yeah I was pretty pissed I couldn't go
I went to see Chinese acrobats with my mom instead. Which was admittedly kind of cool, but not something I wanted to miss seeing Roger Waters for.
