I love myGRAIN. Their first album, Orbit Dance is great. I haven't really been able to find much on their second album, but from what I've heard, it's not quite as good. What album is that song from, though? It has Orbit Dance's album art, but I don't remember ever seeing it on Orbit Dance. [editline]This edit is actually the newer of the two :smug:[/editline] Yeah, I thought that song must have been off of Signs of Existence. It had that tone that Orbit Dance just didn't have. [editline]FISH!![/editline] Wait! Holy shit! myGRAIN have a new album out! Time to go find it! [editline]SO MANY EDITLINES![/editline] Doesn't sound too bad. Hope the other songs are better, though. :v: Also, are my ears deceiving me, but did myGRAIN's vocalist learn falsetto? I am hearing a lot of power-metal falsetto in this song.
Put the 'Death' away and you get this. Don't hurt me, it's what got me into the genre.
Why would anyone hate In Flames are amazing
Why would anyone hate In Flames are amazing
It's because they've changed over their career /instant hate.
damn elitists not being able to accept that bands can change/get popular without still being good :argh:
damn elitists not being able to accept that bands can change/get popular without still being good :argh:
They were always popular. [editline]30th April 2011[/editline] As much as a melodeath band can be popular. They've always had a large fanbase is what I mean.
So, Chaos Divine's new album is pretty kickass. Their vocalist's cleans have a lot more power to them, while retaining their melody, and his harshes have evolved an incredible amount (they were really weak on the previous album). Listen to this whole song. While it's mostly his powerful cleans, you get some good samples of his new and improved harshes, too. And, of course, being Chaos Divine, it's melodic as fuck. While still being metal.

Thoughts on this band?
Pretty cool. Got a great sound.
Melodeath dump. Awesome songs incoming. Good instrumentals. Although I just noticed something that I found a bit annoying with the vocals. All singers, except the ones from Aeveron and Universum, sounds the same. :v: I guess I just don't find that style of vocals appealing.
They're my favorite sort of vocals. Becoming the Archetype and Callenish Circle have possibly the best sort of vocals I've ever heard. It's a shame that so few bands use them. :saddowns:
New Amorphis Single out, folks. This one is called My Enemy.
I really really love Children of Bodom, their old stuff is technical and Alexi's leads are fiery and catchy while their newer stuff is raw and energetic. Have to be my favourite band of all time, i've been listening to them religiously for like 2 years now. But I also love Wintersun and At The Gates, along with some Arch Enemy and Amon Amarth. Great thread :buddy:

Amorphis are a pop band now lol but they're still really awesome
Amorphis are a pop band now lol but they're still really awesome
Are you kidding? that song was way more heavy than previous amorphis songs.
A small insomnium update, The drums have been recorded and next up is the guitar parts in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Didn't even notice that new song Sweet But still. They're a pop band with death metal influences [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline] I don't mean to say this in a bad way because I love them [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline] Also I don't see the new album being better than Skyforger but we shall see
So, in other news, I think I have decided to make a fourth "15 MDM bands you've probably never heard of." I may end up using some bands I've used previously, but with new albums. I just hope I have enough new bands / albums to make it. Otherwise, I shall have to continue to scour the Encyclopaedia Metallum for new bands. I have a few pending already, but I need to listen to them some more before I make a final decision as to whether or not I feel they're good enough to go out and get their album(s). For those who don't know about them, here are the links for the three existing ones. RoutaSielu was formed this winter.
Lately, I can't get enough of this song:
I do not know about you people but melodic metal is shit when you add singing and screaming to it. Melodic metal is purely for instrumentals. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] All these songs sounded awesome untill someone sang. The only decent melodic metal I can find is Xenogenocide. Only 1 or 2 of his peices are songs.

i fucking hate when friends call melodic death metal just senseless screaming. and insulting me and my style of music. someone asks me what kind of music i listen to then that little idiot shows up and says "he listens to music like this: "AAUHGAUHTIAHTATAOGATJAJTY"" Im not going to show his picture, but he looks like justin bieber with unibrows and moustache. He listens to dubstep and drum&bass. The shit, repetitive kind of dubstep and d&b.
i fucking hate when friends call melodic death metal just senseless screaming.
I hate it when people do that about metal in general.
I hate it when people do that about metal in general.
Yep, they do that too. Yes, they. The whole damn class listens to dubstep only. WITH CELLPHONE SPEAKERS OH GOD :gonk:
Those tools aren't worth your time (When it comes to music at least)
