why is finland so depressing?
Probably the same reasons as Sweden: Cold, grey, dark, dark, cold, dark, cold, rainy, cold, grey, cold...
Have a Canadian MDM band! Kälter - Spiritual Angel
This video is mind blowing
Am i the only one who actually enjoys the newest In Flames album? I find it just amazing. And i also know its not melodic death metal but this thread is going slow enough.
better than ASOP easily
I dislike pretty much everything they made after Colony. [editline]18th August 2011[/editline]
MagisteriuM - Black Rain
This sounds pretty cool, cheers.
Insomium's one for sorrow song list has been released. Insomnium: One for Sorrow (12.10.2011) 1. Inertia 2. Through the Shadows 3. Song of the Blackest Bird 4. Only One Who Waits 5. Unsung 6. Every Hour Wounds 7. Decoherence 8. Lay the Ghost to Rest 9. Regain the Fire 10. One for Sorrow There is also an interview in finnish, i'll read it and tell you the most important bits. The reporter who wrote this article heard the album and says that; •Inertia is the intro song of this album, like the Equivalence was the intro of Across the Dark •Through the Shadows is the first actual song, and it has what insomnium does the best; immortal guitar melodies. •The vocals are low and the guitars are high. •The sound is dark and thick •The drums are totally different from the album Across the Dark •Song of the Blackest Bird "drags you into the song's world", amazing melodies, amazing vocals, amazing everything •This album is giving lots and lots of emotions. •Lay the Ghost to Rest is a long one, 7 minutes long. Again, it blows your mind. •Unsung and Only One Who Waits are the two "hit songs" of this album. •The atmosphere is really dark and heavy. •A german reporter's first comment was "sounds expensive" A bigger article about this new record is coming 30.9 Again in finnish.
WHY. CAN'T. OCTOBER. COME. QUICKER?!?!?! Goddamn I'm so fucking excited for Insomnium's new album. So excited I may explode.
YES Children Of Bodom kicks so much ass! Why are ppll hating on the new album? It's better than BloodDrunk imo...
COB is amazing. But seriously try the old stuff. Blooddrunk sucked IMO. Try Hatebreeder. Seriously so good.
COB is amazing. But seriously try the old stuff. Blooddrunk sucked IMO. Try Hatebreeder. Seriously so good.
Dude, i own all Children Of Bodom albums, iv'e seen them live 4 times and i know a guy who knows Roope Latvala and iv'e talked him and Laiho! LOL an AMERICAN trying to tell a FINNISH COB FAN about Cob...
uh where you come from has nothing to do with how much you can like a band
uh where you come from has nothing to do with how much you can like a band
The band was an underground Finnish band so yeah, it DOES matter. You know cus' ppll outside Finland hadn't heard of them until later on...
the band's been around longer than you've been alive so I don't see how their start has anything to do with your being a fan. Anyway they've been doing well since they released their debut, it got world wide attention.
The band was an underground Finnish band so yeah, it DOES matter. You know cus' ppll outside Finland hadn't heard of them until later on...
Holy shit. Can you be more arrogant? Just because a band is the same nationality as you doesn't mean you know more about it than an American. I don't even think I can argue with you because that single statement shows me you are beyond retarded. Holy christ.....

You have your own opinions.
Scrolling through the new posts made me notice that you didn't mention Ghost Brigades new album: Until Fear No Longer Defines Us! I'm listening to it right now, and it's great!
Daaaamn, that was brilliant.
I love ghost brigade ! :D Anything else new on the melodic death metal scene? I gotta update my library with new badass stuff

I love his vocals - I can't help but think of Staind when listening to that song. However, that brings up an issue - how precisely is this melodic death metal? I'm not saying it's not a great song - I'll probably end up getting the album after listening to the rest of the album, and I thank you for bringing it up because I haven't looked at it yet - but that'd be a bit like my posting a new Hammerfall album in this thread. :v: [editline]20th August 2011[/editline]
I love ghost brigade ! :D Anything else new on the melodic death metal scene? I gotta update my library with new badass stuff
Depends what kind of melodic death you're looking after. Are you looking for Children of Bodom-like MDM, Insomnium-like MDM, Zonaria-like MDM, Soilwork-like MDM, Scar Symmetry-like MDM, Amon Amarth-like MDM? Or do you not really care, and are just looking for MDM in general? I can give you a dump of recent bands I've found, but I really need to know what you already have and what you're looking for; I don't want to waste my time hunting and your time listening :v:
ghost brigade is more proggy doom really good band though Saw them live with Amorphis and ghost brigade they were pretty sweet.
Dude, i own all Children Of Bodom albums, iv'e seen them live 4 times and i know a guy who knows Roope Latvala and iv'e talked him and Laiho! LOL an AMERICAN trying to tell a FINNISH COB FAN about Cob...
OH RIGHT! I forgot your race is far more superior then mine. Damn I must shut up. So does that mean when you ask for old school death metal I should say STFU FINLAND KNOWS NOTHING. Uhm alright then. Edit: 4 COB albums? What about before they became COB Unearthed was wicked.

You know what, I don't care what people think about Threat Signal. So they have strong metalcore tendencies and their choruses all sound the same. I still like them. :colbert: Looks like they have a new album coming out in a few years, and it looks like it has a cover of Five Finger Death Punch's "Death Before Dishonor," according to the Encyclopaedia Metallum

It just annoys me when ppll think that i don't know all the songs of the bands i listen to and i'm just saying that at first, most of the ppll listening to Bodom were mostly Finnish AND yeah i was born BEFORE Cob made their first album, not after seeing that the first album was released in 97.

His reply was to a post that was very fucking vague about what albums you HAD listened to.
Hey man,you don't have to be an arse about it.He was just merely recommending you to listen to Hatebreeder album in good faith. It is not like he is calling you retarded or anything for liking RRF. If it bothers you so much you could have just replied that you have all the albums and which one you actually prefer.
The band was an underground Finnish band so yeah, it DOES matter. You know cus' ppll outside Finland hadn't heard of them until later on...
You would know that this isn't actually quite true if you were a long time fan as you claim to be and besides were you even a fan when cob was underground?

Thats what you sound like. [editline]22nd August 2011[/editline] Secondly, how the hell was he supposed to know you are a "true finnish cob fan" and you get fucking offended by someone suggesting an album you should listen to.
