Nope, im too skinny to give blood. Even if I did the fear of needles would stop me in my tracks. Cant they numb the area first?
They don't have to. It's painless.
Except for when that one nurse here does it. She misses about twelve times first. The worst part is hearing her annoying squeaky voice saying "sorry" twelve times.
Not only blood, but also bone marrow (eventhough they told me It's not likely I'm ever going to get called to donate it because of compatibility issues) and organs (for when I die, they'll serve no purpose inside of me).
To all of you guys which are afraid of it, seriously, try it, it's not that bad, the worst thing is when they puncture your finger with a small needle to see your hemoglobin levels, because it itches like hell. The rest is lying in a bed, drinking water, reading something or watching tv for 10 minutes while they take your blood, then they give you something to drink (Cola, juices, water) and something to eat (usually dried fruits), and you leave with the feeling of having helped someone.
I tried to donate blood once.
It turns out I have Hepatitis B core antibodies. So... I can't ever donate blood for the rest of my life.

They let me bring my MP3 player in. And we get donuts afterwards.
I don't because i had to give blood when i was little ( oh god like 9 tubes i thought it would never end)
And since that day i'm afraid of needles :(

Blood work is common.
I always wonder why they need so much though.
I've donated two different types of bodily fluids.
Yes, it's awesome.
Next time I donate blood I'm going to ask if I can have them take an extra bag "to go" and see what they say.
No, I'm fairly certain I need my blood to not die.
No, I'm fairly certain I need my blood to not die.
Unless you plan on getting shot immediately after leaving the blood bank, I'm pretty sure it'll regenerate.
When I tried to my blood clogged teh tubes and they were like "lol we'll keep it but we dunno if it can be used"
But it still got me out of half a school day so I'm fine with it
I want to, but damn laws make it so you can't til you're 18.
Same. I don't understand why you have to be 18 to do so.
I haven't yet but I voted yes because I plan on doing so. I'm a registered organ donor already though :D
Also here in Australia you can give blood when you're under the age of 18, you just need parent/guardian consent.
Not old enough yet, but I probably will once I get older.
Yep, getting high and earning money? Who can't resist that.

No one needs your immature blood.

Normally they don't pay for blood donations.
No, my blood type is IB positive.
IB positive they aint' touching me with no needle.
Yes, but not mine.
My sister gave blood once, after which she felt queasy, faint and vomited several times.
She would give blood again given the opportunity.
Ugh, I hate it when they miss the vein or go straight through. Pisses me off.
Sucks a lot of you have needle phobias :(
I don't like the thought, but I would if I could (underage)
I have O- so it'd probably be a good idea to donate in the future.
O- is quite handy apparently.
I believe O+ is compatible with all blood types.
I'm still unsure of my blood type. Age aside, I'd love to donate blood. When I'm 18 and have the chance, I'm sure I'll go try and see if I'm eligible.
I have B-
I tried. They didn't want it because I have to take medication for my epilepsy daily.

That's O-. O+ is compatible with all + blood types.
O- is compatible with all blood types, and unfortunately is the only one compatible with itself.
I would donate the blood of my victims.
