did you just say bands never go to LA bands area ll over the LA area NUTS bands never go to nevada, cuz they just want to go to california but i only have to drive like 4 hrs to see them in anaheim
LA = Louisiana And fuck yes kicking it off with a Minneapolis date, so glad when I saw that. Almost every band comes to Milwaukee and Chicago but never to the good old Twin Cities.
That's why I hardly ever refer to Louisiana as LA, because everyone seems to mistake it for Los Angeles.

Seeing them in 2 days, quite excited
La Dispute helps me. The other day, I told a 'acquaintance friend' about them, and he loves them. Also, Trophy Scars reminds me of Blood Brothers, not exactly what I listen to much anymore but still cool and nostalgic sound that some of you may love.
found out that a girl i know listens to La Dispute when i saw that she reblogged one of the many variants of ~I THINK I SAW YOU IN MY SLEEP, DARLING~ pictures on tumblr. and she also likes Touché Amoré apparently.
Oh my fucking god page 3's second half ruled. I thought I was the only one that really loved REAL screamo. Motherfucking City of Caterpillar, how obscure aren't they? Whoever posted them on page 3 is a fucking hero (see what I did there?). Loma Prieta, too, are freaking amazing. But I'll admit I enjoyed Life/Less alot more than I enjoyed I.V. Needs more asianz. Also, Circle Takes The Square. My favourite band ever, almost. They came here (Sweden) a few weeks ago, but I couldn't make it. So incredibly fucking bummed about that. Has anyone heard Jeromes Dream?

I need to listen to Jerome's Dream, I think I will right now actually. Also somewhat relevant, I was playing this song on guitar just a minute ago:

Some of my favorite bands, ever.
This should just become the like screamo thread lol although one does exist already but it seems to be kinda dead
Every now and then one gets bumped/posted but they never stick around for long
Yeah, but that's kinda the problem I guess. This thread survives pretty well though
such is life bein a master Anyone listened to Hot Cross? And I think this thread has slowly become the screamo thread.
my brain wiring sees screamo as (i really don't like these bands): the devil wears prada bring me the horizon attack attack of mice and men ... maybe its just because the people around me, though. everything else mentioned in this thread, along with hundreds of other bands, i just consider "hardcore" or some sort of shit like that. Hot Cross is really good. ~hXc~

Did you know that the vocalist, when recording, would put his mic on the ground before they started playing and record the vocals from his feet? Anyways, in non-derailed news, just got back from La Dispute. Dear god, They are great live, but it was an underage show, so there was about five people who didn't act like it was a Justin Bieber gig. The crowd were more interested in trying to get Jordan to either punch them or make out with them then they were in the music. I hate emo kids. But, I did pick up Wildlife on clear vinyl! Score!

using this is general emo thread ok owns
I just found this thread. Thank You.I feel like I've heard them before though, but I cannot figure out where.Reminds me a lot of this though, which I love.
The vocalist sounds like he's crying, or about to
which is one of this band's big charms
The vocalist sounds like he's crying, or about to
I love his vocal style. It actually feels like it has personality and emotion to it, something most other bands lack.

They used to tour with La Dispute back before their new album when they were mostly instrumentals. Their older shit is still the best:
I absolutely love A Lot Like Birds! They used to tour with La Dispute back before their new album when they were mostly instrumentals. ALLB and DGD are currently touring together down in the south and Kurt is doing vocals for both bands, really wish I could check that out. Come to think of it, he was really good on the Death-Star album too.

I know, and I would kill to go to that tour.

[sp]we are waaay off topic[/sp]
this should just be the general emo/screamo/post-hardcore etc thread anyway since it's pretty much what it's become and it's better that way
this should just be the general emo/screamo/post-hardcore etc thread anyway since it's pretty much what it's become and it's better that way
I actually made a general Post-Hardcore/Screamo thread awhile back when the guy who made the hardcore thread said post hardcore wasn't real hardcore and couldn't be posted there. We could bump it if you'd like.

[sp]we are waaay off topic[/sp]
We're doing this thread a favor, by a) putting ALLB on the table, and b) keeping this thread moving. It seems like after all the drama with Jonny though, people are beginning to realize how good Kurt was. More on topic, since I just found La Dispute and love it, I have to ask, does Jordan Dreyer(?) ever do guest vocals, or does La Dispute ever feature anyone? And what album would be best to start with?

I recommend starting with either Somewhere at the Bottom of the River or Wildlife.
