And what does "Server 'MARGE'" mean? At the bottom of the screen in blue "Facepunch Studios 2010 - Server 'MARGE'"
Facepunch owns a few different servers; you're currently connected to MARGE (they're all named after Simpsons characters) and AFAIK that's the only one hosting the forums. The other ones are hosting the other sites (facpeunchstudios.com, garrysmod.com, garrysmod.org, garry.tv, facewound.com etc.), the forum database and there's probably others doing different shiz..
I attempted to use "Mark forums read" and it brings up this error:
Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid. If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.
How long has it not worked, will there be a fix soon?
What other the other called? I know you said "they're all named after Simpsons Characters " but is that the family? As in, Bart Marge Lisa Maggie Homer, and are there actually 5 servers? [editline]07:20PM[/editline] BJK sounds more like a problem on your end (browser settings?) rather than a server error.

I missed when they were Red Dwarf characters. Oh and welcome back garry (streamers) (balloons rise) (party poppers)
BJK sounds more like a problem on your end (browser settings?) rather than a server error.
Most likely, I am using Opera.

Garry mentioned on Twitter that there's one running called Linux called RALPHWIGGUM and there's a database server called HOMER. Back in the day nearly all of them were listed at status.facepunchstudios.com and you could see whether they were up or not.
That page doesn't work
That's why he said "Back in the day"
That page doesn't work

Back in the day
It wasn't around for very long. It went after Garry changed the host from Softlayer to EC2.
That's why he said "Back in the day"
Oh, I think I misread the thing
How come ratings sometimes appear instead of ?
If there are 5 or more different ratings on a post, then it will remove the text. This gets confusing with the new system that requires at least 2 to view the rating though, so if someone gets 46 funny, 1 dumb, 1 agree, 1 disagree and 1 optimistic then all you will see is x46 funny without the text.
Ah I see, thanks.
But sometimes there's 1 rating it the post, like polite/nice/friendly, every time I can't see the text on that one
He explained that. you require 2 of the same rating before it will show up on a post, so if a post has 4 polite/nice/friendly 1 funny 1 informative 1 dumb and 1 optimistic, then only the 4 polite/nice/friendly will show, but because there are more than 4 different ratings on the post, the text will be omitted.

Why was that thread deleted in Film and television? And why was the OP banned? I would look at his posts to find out myself but search is down. Little curious.
Chrome was a spammer, posting threads consisting of the image "Pain series" from encyclopedia dramatica. [editline]11:59PM[/editline] Do not search that by the way
You mean the "offended" page?
Do not search that by the way
I regret deviating from your instructions.
What I want to know is why responding to spam isn't a bannable offense anymore. Everyone just freely responds to spam and keeps it at the top of the page for others to see. :sigh:
I tried this for a day - so many people were banned it wasn't funny. I usually warn about the possibility of a ban when I lock a spam thread but as it's not a consistently followed policy no-one really takes much notice.
You mods need to make a warning system, it would be really effective and probably stop people doing the shit they do.
Not really any more effective than banning, but it would be more effective than doing nothing. If FP provided the same ban scare effect it used to while actually being as easy on people as it is now, I think things could shape up, unless people just get used to the fact knowing they will not be banned for half the crap they were told they would be banned for.
You mean the "offended" page?
No, I mean "Pain Series" It's basically a series of shock images.
No, I mean "Pain Series" It's basically a series of shock images.
:barf: what the fuck man Also, when was Smartness actually removed?
You mods need to make a warning system, it would be really effective and probably stop people doing the shit they do.
But that's pretty much what she was doing, she only banned for a day or so. If that wasn't effective, I doubt whatever your idea of a warning system is would be.
:barf: what the fuck man Also, when was Smartness actually removed?
January 8th, 2009. Almost two weeks after I joined.
I know this happened a while back, but why did mm3guy perma himself? Was he just tired of the community? Do gary or any of the mods keep in contact with him?
