A nice old PS1 classic. It's nothing super amazing, but the one thing that kept me coming back was the soundtrack and setting. Seriously, the soundtrack is great. The multiplayer, while basic, was pretty fun, though the biggest issue I had, and still have, is that it did not use memory cards - progress was "saved" via passcodes to unlock missions. That's it.

So few people know of it that the wiki page it once had was deleted for some reason.
SSX Tricky is better imo.

I always loved this series because you could just level an entire city and throw cows at the police.

Definitely the game series that got me into open world as a kid. Sadly the newest ones are pretty much complete garbage.

Killer is Dead. I wouldn't say it's unknown but it feels like nobody's played it except for suda51 fans. I had a hell of a lot of fun with it despite some of its flaws.

Not sure if anyone here remembers this game. I loved this game fun gameplay, good humor, and not to mention it had some nice local co-op.

I was just about to post this, I loved this game!
[T]https://fanboydestroy.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/the-last-story-cover.jpg[/T]
This game is fucking great. Its very Final Fantasy, both in gameplay and music, The Last Story is a tale about a group of mercenaries that work towards becoming knights, and in the process, they discover the cold, dark world of nobility, the age old conflict between humans and Gurak, and the cause of the land's decay. The characters are a very large part of why I love this game so much. Over the course of the game, you slowly learn more about the mercenaries and their pasts, and their reasons for fighting. They all have their different personalities and quirks. You have a cold and cynical mage, an alcoholic swordswoman, a playboy, a gentle hippie, a focused and ambitious leader, a runaway princess, and then you, the player. These characters really tie the game together. The combat is really fun as well. The combat isn't as hack-n-slash as it might seem, and you actually need to slow down and think about the battle before you rush into it. You can hide behind objects and deliver sneak attacks, or you could draw the enemies away while your allies kick the shit out of them.
Overall rating 11/10 its perfect.

Oh yeah you can literally dye the mercenary's clothes invisible so you can fight lizards and fish-people in your underwear while swinging around a fuck-huge sword

Maybe you have heard of it, maybe you haven't, but easily one of the funnest fucking games I've ever played in my life, and remains a favorite of mine to this day. My childhood was less depressing and sad because of it.

Oh also the Dreamcast itself

Pump It Up. I know it's big in Korea (where it was created), Mexico and I think some parts of South America, but it never had as big of a following here in the US due to DDR eclipsing it. I would kill to have a machine with a recent edition of the game near where I live, I'd go play that shit every week.
Same deal with DDR -- you got a dance pad and songs to choose from -- except it has diagonal (corner) arrows and a center button. As a result, playing it feels like you're dancing a lot more than playing DDR. At least that's what I think. It also produced some amazing freestyles:

[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/0c/Stronghold_(2001)_Coverart.png[/t]
Besides Heroes of Might and Magic III, these were generally the mainstays of my childhood. They're not completely unknown thanks to their sequels, but they tend to be amazingly overshadowed and it's basically impossible to find anyone IRL who has played them. The sequels for Age of Wonders and Stronghold are good (AoW3 and Stronghold Crusader (and the Extreme editions)) but none of them have managed to hold me like the old ones did.
Mind you I was born in 97, it's not like anyone else grew up with games like that and there were plenty of better looking, better sounding, probably better in general games coming out when I was a kid. Still, none of them held a candle in my mind.

These games really makes you think long and hard on customization before going on a mission and having a well built mech can mean a difference between victory and defeat.
I wish that the online community is more active, because I miss being a helpful operator.

One of the greatest console FPS games, there is a PC version but it's more like Duke 3d, and the saturn port is like Doom + Metroid in egypt.

So this is like the third time I posted this intro in one of these threads, but I just love it so much.
For those that don't know, Demon's Crest is basically Gargoyle's Quest 3. You play as Firebrand, a red arremer a la Ghost n' Goblins, in a Metroid/Mega Man-esque platformer. There are a lot of different kind of power ups and secrets. I loved the games art and music and hope that one day they have a good follow up for it. (Probably unlikely though)

It was a cheap game someone gave me once and I thought it was the shit
It had good cover mechanics, one character was stealth based and used cloak and such while the other was a walking tank and usually carried rocket launchers and heavy machine guns. The plot was pretty crappy but it was incredibly fun, if at times absurdly difficult (hello, fucking skydiving segments)[/QUOTE]
This is on Steam btw
but for my game that I love:

I remember playing it when I was 5 and never getting past the second level. I still have the original CD in my games pile.

I ended up buying 5 of my friends this game, just so they can experience it due to how criminally underrated it is.

I have Fusion Frenzy, as well! Also, if it makes you feel better, Blinx is downright bullshit in later levels. Beating it was one of the greatest accomplishments in my life. Kickass soundtrack, though.
