Not try to be the "voice of reason" here, but I wouldn't exactly be proud of something like that. While I would generally agree that nearly all of the content on the site lacks any real humor to it, it's an endeavor they started, and I'm presuming realized they failed at. That's honestly more than 80% of the members on Facepunch can say they experienced.
I personally know I experienced failures in 2 business endeavors, and it's never easy. Especially when you quit your job and dedicate every spare moment of your life to doing something you believe is your "destiny" and "passion."
Was it right to critique the comics? Well, everyone is entitled to voice what they think, but to leave messages on his profile saying "go kill yourself" and shit like that is a bit...extreme to say. If history has taught us anything, it's that shit like that causes people to unload on people.
This guy might be stockpiling ammo as we speak...
I still fucking laughed at some of his comics though.
Fuck i remember this thread.

I personally think that the GMail one is so bad, it's actually funny. It's like puns.
Implying all gangsters are black too. Every cool motherfucker uses the name Thug_Bug63.

I remember that, I made that to make fun of his rage at facepunch that one time.
I was reading this thread yesterday, I had a urge to bump it, but I didn't want to, but woah. I guess jasper was a negative nathan since he left without saying goodbye.
On a serious note, this shit is crap, I do like putlock or whatever it's called, idea. Very clever.
"Clear!!!" BZZZT!
I saw this thread when it first started and I thought it couldn't get any shittier.
[sp]Oh god, I was so wrong. It's just gone downhill from there.[/sp]
Potluck comics still seems to breathing, with money, despite the lack of ads.
Also, it seems as though...
http://wealthywalrus.com/
Ugh... Web design is just as bad as Potluck.
[editline]19th January 2012[/editline]
It's good that they realised they were failing. It kind of pushed them to do much better things, like potluck.

IT'S ALIVE ONCE MORE!
Why are people bumping this?!
Oh shit I remember this.
Edit: Accidentally posted twice :(
It's alright everyone, just take a step back and let it die.
Why hello there, legends!
It has been a mighty long time since I have graced you fine folk with my presence. But worry not, the Jasper drought is officially over. Additionally, Spicy Tornado (http://spicytornado.com/) shall soon rise from the ashes like a post-metamorphosis caterpillar.
Now that I am back, I’d like to update you all on my life. As many of you know, I quit my prestigious career with the U.S. Postal Service to pursue my dream of becoming a self-sufficient comic artist.
My big brother and I gave up everything to pursue our goal. We put our blood, sweat, mucus and tears into Spicy Tornado. Some Face Punchers thought we were absolutely insane for putting so much of our souls into a website they found repulsive. Others appreciated our work ethic and found our comics to be downright delightful.
I struggled with the criticism. The man upstairs knows I found solace in a glass (or three) of Chardonnay more times than I’d like to admit. I tried my best to learn from the negative feedback, but it wasn't easy.
In hindsight, I can’t deny that much of the criticism was spot on. My big brother and I took a leap of blind faith when we dove into comic making. We didn’t know everything about the industry, and we still don’t. But despite my overwhelming desire to succeed, I let my demons get the best of me. I spiraled out of control. I lost my way.
But, now I’m back. Jasper 2.0 if you will. And as I look to the future, all I can see are rolling hills of greatness.
My big brother and I have built Potluck Comics (http://potluckcomics.com/) from the ground up. Our dream of providing a platform for unknown artists has come to fruition. Only problem.. we’re losing money.
We could have cluttered our site with homely ads, but we refused. Instead we launched a t-shirt company – http://llamafish.com/
We’ve only sold two shirts so far… and truth be told, one was to our supportive uncle, Rick. But still, we are very excited about LlamaFish and its potential. If any of you fine folk out there legitimately enjoy our selection of shirts, I’d greatly appreciate your support. If not, I appreciate you anyway.
In regard to SpicyTornado… the little comic site that could is not dead. It has simply been hibernating like a lethargic marsupial. In the next few days, Spicy Tornado will be back – Better than ever!
To the Negative Nathans out there, I want to thank you for giving me the kick in the buttox I needed all those moons ago.
I love you all,
Jasper 2.0
