Thank you all for warmly welcoming me back. I've certainly missed the Facepunch Community and all it's fine residents.
Some of you question my business sense. That is fine and dandy, but I just want to create and share content that the world can enjoy. If I am able to make a buck from following my passion, I'll be the most jovial chap on this here spinning sphere of ice us we call earth. If I fail, there's always panhandling and street performing.
But seriously, My big brother and I have jumped in the river of glory and we'll keep swimming no matter which direction the current takes. We will keep learning. We will keep trying. We will wake up everyday and give it our all. Unless one of us drowns. Then it was all in vain. Fortunately, we're known to be quite the swimmers.
I apologize if my words lean a bit toward the bizarre. I'm two glasses of Chardonnay in and I feel like absolutely anything is possible.
With love,
Jasper
Have you read Electric Retard? They pull off webcomics very well, maybe you should take a glance at their website and learn a few things.
jump in a river
I've already made the plunge, comrade.
jokes aside i respect how composed you've kept yourself throughout this thread (from what ive seen). i honestly do hope your comics/whatever you end up doing takes off, but you might want to think about a different approach
Not again.
where did this come from?
your texts are more funny than your comics, start a blog and get popular
If someone's bumping this thread again and again just to piss people off, it's fucking working.
heh
I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE SPICY TORNADO COMICS

Constructive criticism: The last two panels are expendable.
Well, Mr.SpicyTornado? Any ETA on the upcoming comic?

GOD DAMN IT. WHY??? Why do you? WHY?
Why hello there, legends!
It has been a mighty long time since I have graced you fine folk with my presence. But worry not, the Jasper drought is officially over. Additionally, Spicy Tornado (http://spicytornado.com/) shall soon rise from the ashes like a post-metamorphosis caterpillar.
Now that I am back, I’d like to update you all on my life. As many of you know, I quit my prestigious career with the U.S. Postal Service to pursue my dream of becoming a self-sufficient comic artist.
My big brother and I gave up everything to pursue our goal. We put our blood, sweat, mucus and tears into Spicy Tornado. Some Face Punchers thought we were absolutely insane for putting so much of our souls into a website they found repulsive. Others appreciated our work ethic and found our comics to be downright delightful.
I struggled with the criticism. The man upstairs knows I found solace in a glass (or three) of Chardonnay more times than I’d like to admit. I tried my best to learn from the negative feedback, but it wasn't easy.
In hindsight, I can’t deny that much of the criticism was spot on. My big brother and I took a leap of blind faith when we dove into comic making. We didn’t know everything about the industry, and we still don’t. But despite my overwhelming desire to succeed, I let my demons get the best of me. I spiraled out of control. I lost my way.
But, now I’m back. Jasper 2.0 if you will. And as I look to the future, all I can see are rolling hills of greatness.
My big brother and I have built Potluck Comics (http://potluckcomics.com/) from the ground up. Our dream of providing a platform for unknown artists has come to fruition. Only problem.. we’re losing money.
We could have cluttered our site with homely ads, but we refused. Instead we launched a t-shirt company – http://llamafish.com/
We’ve only sold two shirts so far… and truth be told, one was to our supportive uncle, Rick. But still, we are very excited about LlamaFish and its potential. If any of you fine folk out there legitimately enjoy our selection of shirts, I’d greatly appreciate your support. If not, I appreciate you anyway.
In regard to SpicyTornado… the little comic site that could is not dead. It has simply been hibernating like a lethargic marsupial. In the next few days, Spicy Tornado will be back – Better than ever!
To the Negative Nathans out there, I want to thank you for giving me the kick in the buttox I needed all those moons ago.
I love you all,
Jasper 2.0
"Negative Nathans". Pure Gold.
Oh no, not again. Please. Do it for the children.
New one's out

Uh... It seems you guys still have a lot to learn.

What the fuck that's so creepy.
and why in the dick is a barrel of severed hands biohazard?
I'm going to remove my eyes now.
I'm confused
Is he supposed to be addicted to tickling or something?
That still doesn't explain the biohazard thing.
It makes no sense.

Eh, a barrel of severed hands would be considered biohazardous material.
Would be funnier if he was in an alley paying hookers to tickle him, though.
This one actually made me "lol". If this is the direction they're headed in, they might actually get somewhere

here's how to make money
get a job for now and invest in a tablet (I have a wacom bamboo and it's good enough for what you're doing)
once you have a tablet make sure you're using some decent art software, now I don't know what's cheap/free but you'll find something
spend a while getting comfortable with the tablet and then start learning how to draw better
post stuff in creationism corner and you'll get semi-good criticism (some people in there are stuck up but their advice is ok)
then make a completely new comic, spicytornado is now a laughing stock
then spread your comic around and make it famous
then get some ads up on the website and once it's good enough start making books and shit
(note I have no experience in this but that's how I'd imagine it is)
but if you think spicytornado is going to get you anywhere you are wrong
[editline]21st February 2012[/editline]
ok i didn't read past page 8 but lose the pony shit because otherwise you're going to become hated by everyone ever in the world [sp]except bronies but they are outnumbered
This one actually made me "lol". If this is the direction they're headed in, they might actually get somewhere

But that comic isn't even theirs.

There is no way I can describe that without posting an image macro.
