I want to see a Splinter Cell! [editline]05:04PM[/editline]
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth would make for one badass movie.
I guess so, but then it wouldn't really be based on this game, it'd be based of the book this game is based on; "The Shadow over Innsmouth" (Think it's called that way?) by HP Lovecraft. Apparently a great book, I haven't been reading so much by Lovecraft though I will.
The Half-Life saga. And the Left 4 Dead series would make a pretty cool zombie movie, too. Like, if I were to make a movie out of L4D2, I'd split it into five parts according to the campaigns, and give each part to a different scriptwriter and director. That'd be an interesting movie-experiment.

A film of Bioshock is already in production. This guy is rumoured to be playing Jack which ruins the film already in my book.
A film of Bioshock is already in production. The main guy from Avatar is playing Jack, which ruins the film already in my book.
What? I thought Wentworhless Miller was playing Jack.
Yeah I fucked up, I've corrected it.
Yeah I fucked up, I've corrected it.
Atleast we won't have to worry about him ruining the character, considering he has about as much personality as Jack.
i agree that they shouldnt make any video game movies that we know and love but ive been hearing this topic so fucking much so i posted a thread on it [editline]07:45PM[/editline]
No on: Mass Effect: Really, the good part of Mass Effect is the whole choices you can make. Unless the movie is about the First Contact War, then its debatable. Valve games: No, no, no. Portal, well, its just 2 or 3 people there now(4 if you count WCC). HL, what do you think? Maybe on: MW2: Mostly to make the fanshits cry about how it is ruined. Heavy Rain: No comment.
Well Mass Effect would be great but its like star trek in a way but that could be okay I Forgot about Half-Life that would be awsome [editline]07:48PM[/editline]
The Half-Life saga. I do believe that if you make it right, Halo could be turned into a really good movie. The Story offers enough content to build a story around it that is worth to give it a watch. Besides that I'd also give a thumb up for Mass Effect.
A movie based on Warcraft lore, which I hear is in production.
As I've said in the other thread, either Starcraft or WH40K
Metal Gear Solid, but its already on it's way. and besides, how could they fuck it up? MGS4 had more cutscenes than gameplay.
Stubbs the Zombie
Some deep shit about finding the Monolith and what drives man to explore etc would be better than Marked One's story IMO.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalker_%28film%29
Mass Effect, but maybe following the story of someone else when Shepard isn't around. Perhaps Garrus during the time between 1 and 2. There's ME books set outside the games (WRITTEN BY THE SAME WRITER), a movie would be fine.
oh yeah like the same thing with halo maybe they could make movies of the books since most people dont read lets make a movie out of it
Psychonauts and Brutal Legend. Simply because these two are more well liked for story and not necessarily gameplay. Although I think they'd be better as tv shows or comics (anything episodic) than films. This is the case with many games as the stories written for them are typically designed to send the player to a variety of settings and situations. Psychonauts could have many unique episodes exploring various minds and topics, and Brutal Legend is designed to give the feeling of a vast world with a wide variety of creatures, so there are many potential stories within it.

God of War Trilogy.
I don't know. We really don't seem to good at converting from Video Game--> Movie and vice versa. It would be cool to have a decent movie based off a game...pac man? :smug:

Really made me think. What would I find if I got what I truly desired? How do I know that I don't want what I don't want, and that I actually want what I want?

Wow, I can't believe none of you have even mentioned the Spyro movie that's due out on April 10th. It'll probably get delayed again, however (it was already delayed from last Christmas). I look forward to it with the same anticipation that I did with the Max Payne movie, but I was let down then and I will probably be let down again when Spyro comes out (if it ever does). Honestly, the only *remotely* good movie I've seen based on a video game was Advent Children (sorry, I can't watch Mortal Kombat for 30 seconds - it's shit, come on). I think that, in theory, any vgame could be cast as a decent movie. The problem is, most particular filmmakers who try to adpat vgames into films just aren't very good filmmakers to begin with. [editline]07:12PM[/editline]
I think assassin creed would be an excellent movie.... Obviously if done properly..
Agree completely - there's no other vgame-adapted movie I'd be more in favor of. Get Ridley Scott - the guy who directed Kingdom of Heaven - to direct it and adapt the screenplay. Matt Damon plays Altair (because he has all the skills of Jason Bourne). There, you're all set for Best Picture winner. :v:
Full Throttle The Curse of Monkey Island Old point and click games would do good.
Metro 2033. A book, a game, AND a movie!
Mario Brothers, Far Cry, Doom, etc.
movie NAMES?
Grim Fandango by Pixar.
Grim Fandango by Pixar.
favorite'd :v:
Metroid.
