Exactly, so why don't they change their name? Otherwise it just gets confusing. If anyone has like a list of the albums before/after the new vocalist, then that would help me understand this whole operation a little better.
the first album is the only one with the first vocalist. i enjoy both dance gavin dance and emarosa. in fact they are doing a show together here soon and im so stoked. i havent gotten into the new album much, second album is my fave. i dont think i have a fave song. i have that awesome yellow triceratops shirt too :P
I love The Fall of Troy, don't get me wrong. However, there are times where his voice is just painful to listen to. For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvYb5XNVESg#t=1m14s
The screaming is meant to sound insane in that album, it's for the added effect, Laces out, Dan! song title is named after Ace Venture Pet Detective's insane football character lol, so you should get the idea! EDIT: The vocalists for this band have some good skill (For the first three albums anyway), It's weird how the whole band was replaced yet they still sound good.

Johnny craig was only with them for the EP and first album. there is a noticeable difference. go listen to anything from the album "downtown battle manhattan" and compare it with a song from the album "dance gavin dance." completely different.

I didn't mention anything about a difference, though I'm aware of it.
Jonny Craig has a freaking awsome voice, the band started to get worse ever since he left and the newest album sucks in comparison to Downtown Battle Mountain
Jonny Craig has a freaking awsome voice, the band started to get worse ever since he left and the newest album sucks in comparison to Downtown Battle Mountain
Agreed, the band isn't near as good since he left. his solo album is fucking great too.
That section is meant to sound like that. I like it, to be honest. It sounds more intense and fits the lyrics.

The screaming is meant to sound insane in that album, it's for the added effect, Laces out, Dan! song title is named after Ace Venture Pet Detective's insane football character lol, so you should get the idea!
Intentional or not, there are some parts where it's a bit too much. I understand the creative direction, I just disagree with it. Just my two cents.
Unexpected awesome.
just got back from seeing them live, it was awesome
Stop Gavin Stop!
Lol hi bump. Started listening to their latest album, Happiness. You can notice there's other people, but nonetheless I still like Happiness. I particularly like Strawberry Swisher Pt. 1 & 2, Carl Barker and Don't Tell Dave. But my favourite album of theirs is still Downtown Battle Mountain.
Stop Gavin Stop!
Run Forrest Run! Anyway, I love old Dance Gavin Dance, not so much a fan of the new lineup though.
I still am a huge DGD fan. Didn't like them all that much on my first listen but tried again a month later and was hooked. Now one of my favorite bands. As far as Similar bands the ex-vocalist is now in Emarosa and does solo work. I think Emarosa was better efore Johnny Craig but they are still pretty awesome. Also if you like hardcore but are avoiding mainstream Emery is worth a shot. [editline]07:49PM[/editline] Oh and Johnny Craig is also in a new supergroup with Craig Owens called Isles and Glaciers. I suggest watching them with rumors of EP soon. And I almost forgot that fans of the Fall of Troy should look into the Sound of Animals Fighting. Everything from their first album is gold and their other stuff is a mix of gold and really weird/freaky stuff.
