So long ago since I saw this movie.. Should really see it again.
Superb animation on their part.
It needs an HD Blu-Ray re-release.
I doubt they will sadly, iirc it was Disney's biggest financial loss.
According to Wikipedia, $140 million to make, grossed about $110.
Shame really, I liked it.
Then again I was also 10 when I watched it.

Actually I also read how it lost to Spirited Away at Academy Awards. Funny how this movie cost $140 to make when Spirited Away had better animation and only cost $19 million. Inflated and inefficient Disney budget.
Spirited Away is also a better film, although 8 years ago I would have ignored such an opinion.
The setting and feeling of this movie is just amazing.
This movie seems vaguely familiar but I think that's just because it reminds me of Atlantis.
Holy shit!!! I still have the DVD. This movie inspired me to draw when I was a kid.
Nostalgia, nostalgia everywhere.
Thank you op, I forgot about this gem of my childhood.
If there was one thing I would change about this movie, it would be this loudmouthed fucker.

A little too similar...
I thought this was a very good movie.
Man, if it wasn't so wrong, I'd totally bone the Captian.
Why dis you have to be a cat? :argh:
I added this to my netflix queue right before I saw this thread.
I remember this movie as being really cool. And some company released a promotional ice cream flavor to go along with the movie, and it had like little bits of candy in it. It was the tits.
I remember seeing this in the theaters as a kid but for some reason my parents never bought the VHS of it so I forgot about it for a long time. Then two years ago my brother rewatched it and recommended it to me so I did and oh man was it ever good. My brother even found the official art book in a used book store. It's p cool.

Sorry for such poor quality pics.
Amazing movie. Great art style, great character design.

Sorry for such poor quality pics.
I also remember watching this in the theaters. At the cheap movie theater specifically (love that place, good thing they haven't gone under yet). And likewise, my parents never bought a VHS or DVD of it so I sort of forgot it as well.
And this reminds me of Atlantis so goddamn much (we DO own that movie on DVD).
Oooh, I loved this movie! Got to see it again, it's been quite a while...

In Japan, you're given a budget and told "make this movie in * amount of time, oh, and it better be good". Those that succeed are given money to make more stuff, those that don't won't. While a stressful endeavor, it's also a labor of love to the creators and not just another job, but to be fair we'll say the same applies for Disney.

Spirited Away was phenomenal until I started thinking about how it's basically an ingenious Japanese remix of Alice in Wonderland/The Wizard of Oz. :v:
Someone finally posted about this?
Whats with all of the old cool movies and shows coming up now?
I miss this movie. When I was younger, I loved it so much. The art style was great, but that's my inner-ten-year old speaking.
I still have my disc and cadet manual. I loved the game but got stuck on a couple levels.
I just put that name into google and I went on the ED article and...
oh dear. :ohdear:
I can't get on ED for some reason, care to explain/show the images?
I never saw this movie. I had a shitload of it's McDonald's toys though.
One of my favorite movies as a kid
Am I the only guy who liked BEN?
