I tend to like American spelling better, but British pronunciation better.
i like to think of british english as a more ancient and outdated version of american english

I like our British obscenities, like "twat" "cunt" "bender" and "mongol". Sounds better to me than "moron" and other american ones.
here's a tip, stop putting a space with your apostrophe
God damn, I know if I had to hear "ruf" everyday one day I'd snap and scream "IT'S CALLED A ROOF YOU FUCKING MORON!"
But I grew up saying "ruf." :smith: [editline]25th February 2011[/editline] Lods of emone
here's a tip, stop putting a space with your apostrophe
what
My Grandma's accent is different than mine in some ways. Like "Ruff" to "Roof" and "Garb-eej" to "Garb-edge". [editline]25th February 2011[/editline] Also my British friend said I sounded like I didn't really have much of an accent, he said my speech sounded "generic".
Apparently monies is what we should be using instead of money, in Britain that is.
what
it seems that he didn't understand that the op used grave marks instead of apostrophes

Despite pretty much any word being used as an insult here. Calling people a "fucking spoon" used to be a favourite of mine.

I love how 'mug' can be an insult.
I've heard people use "mong" and "mongoloid"
Same, mong is also one of my favourites.
I'm french Canadian, so I always learned the "British" version of English. However, I spent so much time programming and being on the internet with Americans that I know use the "American" version.
Where the hell are those Americans from? I've heard of a lot accents (such as the "warsh" for "wash"; my grandfather uses "warsh" since he's from the midwest), but I have never heard anyone say "twat" with anything other than a long 'a' (such as the word "cat"). :saddowns:
Californians.
Yeah, west coasters have an odd thing going on with their voice. It's somewhat subtle.
You fucking Mongol goddamn it always raiding the Russian countryside I bet you always sucked up to Genghis Khan.
There is a good chance I'm related to Genghis Khan, my family has roots in the areas of Eastern Europe that the Mongols invaded.
There is a good chance I'm related to Genghis Khan, my family has roots in the areas of Eastern Europe that the Mongols invaded.
Mr. Prosser?
ITT: People flaunt their accents.
Are you guys still arguing about the way Americans and Britains speak?
America British: Ah-mar-i-kah American: Uh-Mare-Uh-kuh
America British: Ah-mar-i-kah American: Uh-Mare-Uh-kuh
Nope.
America British: Ah-mar-i-kah American: Uh-Mare-Uh-kuh
I'm British and I say "Em-Erika"
Americans stole british english and ruined some pronunciations.
More like, they fixed it.
Frederick, to the west of Baltimore.
Yeah, you guys have a way more neutral accent than we do :v: [editline]25th February 2011[/editline]
America British: Ah-mar-i-kah American: Uh-Mare-Uh-kuh
what
Are you guys still arguing about the way Americans and Britains speak?
This isn't an argument and hasn't been. People can discuss things without arguing you know. [editline]25th February 2011[/editline]
i hate saying the word router as british on ventrilo with americans :smith:
I hate the American pronunciation of it, it just sounds wrong. I dislike their pronunciation of "route" as well, same reason.
