I got framed at work, but I looked at the cameras and found out who did it.

If you sue, keep us updated on it.

Good for you. Those guys might learn how to be nice when they are back to living in their parent's basements.
I don't understand, in the email did you talk about having video proof of him opening the door? Why would the owners fire you then?
Start a kickstart if it's necessary. I'd be happy to chip in a few dollars if needed.
Kickstart is for projects only sadly.

Yes the email stated there was proof.

Because they are probably in on the whole framing.

Do you mind posting the email for us?
Also, aren't they expecting to get sued now? What is your goal? Do you want your job back?

The email was sent from our Signage Computer. In our office we have 4 computers in the main room. One is the store managers, One is for attendance/payroll, one for sign making and one for inventory. I deleted the email so other employees could not snoop around in outlook. I used the stores contact email to email the owner.

Update, I have turned my website into a site dedicated to this. There is a donation button and all funds will go directly towards this legal battle coming up. Updates will be posted every day (Usually same time like i always post updates as its the end of the day). I won't annouce my next moves intill they are done to prevent any backfiring.
Publicity is what I need at the moment and get this case known to the public.

little advice- make the youtube videos either private/link-only/whatever, don't mention youtube when talking to your lawyer, present the videos as files on-disk to the lawyer.
good luck with all of this, sounds like the owner seems to be in on something, though I don't know why the other dude would need to go open the door open to tell somebody about it if they just wanted to fire you for it behind your back anyways. I honestly think that's the only thing that really sets off a 'what?' alarm for me, and thankfully it also gives solid proof that it was a setup. If he didn't do it at all, it'd be a matter of proving that the door didn't latch right or something, which you can't really see with the video feed as well as a guy being shifty, looking around to make sure the coast is clear, and gently propping it open. That is your case's redeeming grace, and a whole lotta red on their hands.
I have a flash drive with all the original raw data and video. My phone still has all the original texts.
also, audio recording of someone without their consent is illegal, thus why security cameras don't have sound. I'd advise against the hidden camera stuff.

Acutally, NYS allows for recording of audio but you have to have a completely seperate system that isn't connected to the video.
My local mavis records audio and video both on seperate systems.
I would take down the videos. Company could counter-sue on grounds of conversion (basically theft but in the civil court system).
You need to tread lightly here, anything you do will be twisted against you if the employer finds it fitting.

Conversion of what? It would be suppressed by the clear evidence of trying to frame an employee getting them fired and clear working together to wipe this off there plate quickly.
releasing private security footage without consent of the company. Like I said, make it private-link and show people directly, only if you have to. Just document it via text here if you have to.

Conversion of the video. In theory you took a copy of the video out of the store. Regardless if you took the original or just recorded your own copy.
Same thing happens with copies documents. If an employee is fired and takes with him copies of documents from his office, the employer could motion to have it suppressed because it was taken "illegally" in the first-place.
Or worst, he could counter-sue for damages. Conversion is a legal grounds for suing in civil court.

Guess Ill do so then till I get confirmation from a lawyer.
Since it's an easy case I'm sure you'll get some good support from your lawyer
I don't know about the legalities surrounding the use of evidence copied from your workplace, but if you can use it then the case is pretty much open and shut

The fact the footage might be gone now, The Secretary told me that the store manager was swifting through it in the morning. That further supports my cause is the legal system attempts to get the original footage and the store "Lost" it.
If they deleted the videos and the version you have are allowed to be show in court, then they are in serious trouble. Well not only will you obviously win, but the fact is that they deliberately hid evidence. That will sit very badly with the judge and jurors.
The only problem is actually allowing the video as evidence into court. There shouldn't be much trouble, especially if the videos were deleted, but the employer will try everything to squash them.
Hopefully it all works out, nothing makes my blood boil more than people punished for shit they didn't do.
Best of luck.
I hope you win, and please do keep us posted. If I had any money on my paypal I would've donated some. But will probably have so I can at least donate something, so you better win!
These assholes need to get taken down. FAHRI2012
Good luck fellow IFAP'er
Scumbag dairy manager :v:
Man that sucks, I hope you win this.
I want to congratulate your lawyer, because this is going to be an easy commission
I bet when you pitch the case to him you'll see the money signs in his eyes
this reminds me of the time my brother was told he had to cut his hours at our local petrol station by his managers or face the sack but he might of let slip to the area manager that the managers where filling up there cars with petrol and asking the clerk inside to write it off as a drive off (in other words they were stealing petrol) and oddly enough my brother was allowed to keep on at his current hours
lets hope you can get an happy ending like my brother did
I'm sure you've thought about this already, but here we have "no-win-no-fee" lawyers which might be worth looking in to. They usually only take stonewall cases from people who are being pissed on but don't have the financial means to fight back. I think they'd be more than happy to help you.
On a sidenote, good luck. I hope this works out for you. My only concern is what happens next time you go to an interview and get asked "why did you leave your last job". No matter how far in the right you are, a lot of employers won't look favourably on suing your previous one.
That said, take this guy all the way. What a prick.
You don't have to mention that you sue'd them if new employers ask what happened to your old job.
At least that's the way it happens here (UK). and most employers don't ask if you have a reference down, and you cant really get a bad reference unless they have proof else you can sue them for slander.
And good luck.
From all your stories your workplace must be the pinnacle of shit.
It certainly looks like it. OP, do you know whether or not they deleted those video's? You said you suspected it...
