The problem is this thread everybody here thinks that thier OWN fashion sense is the correct fashion sense. Failing to take account of numerous subcultures and niches. The OP is VERY over simplified. I mean really? "No long hair just do short ok"? Didnt even took account of different facetypes and what works best with them: I mean jesus that is almost required for any advice on hair. I agree with have nicely fitted clothes and no fedoras. No running shoes though? That is super dumb considering there are many many athletic people in the world. There are many different styles that come with fashion: Menwear, prep, streetwear, athletic, gothish etc No skin care either or basic grooming? I used to have pretty horrible acne but im spotless(except for scars) now and learned ALOT about fighting acne so I can help you guys with that. Im not saying you guys got bad fashion sense but there is ALOT of missing infomation in here that is pretty important to look good.
how many people come here asking for advice now anyways? threads dead compared to its golden days of popularity anyways, not to mention the the new GD and thread system keepin it off the front page doesn't help either
the oldest threads i remember were the ones that were full of graphic tees discussions every 10 pages nowadays this thread is fuls vs lemonator and from time to time fuls vs notlabbet, but i like coming here either to give or take advice talking about advice, i know its like the 5th time i ask but have they come up with any super trendy~ new haircuts? i can't go to a single public place without seeing 20 people with HY haircuts
So for an actual fashion question, I kinda want to get a pair of high tops (as in actual high tops, not chuck highs) any recommendations?
you cant even be a real person
Just ban him ffs [editline]1st September 2013[/editline] I mean, he's obviously trolling. No one can actually be that stupid
Just ban him ffs [editline]1st September 2013[/editline] I mean, he's obviously trolling. No one can actually be that stupid
Just because you won't take my advice doesn't mean I'm trolling, some people here have agreed with what I said http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tall_poppy_syndrome
yes, i remember when i was taught tall poppy syndrome in year 7 as well lemonator [editline]1st September 2013[/editline] it is unfortunate for you that it does not apply here
Im not saying you guys got bad fashion sense but there is ALOT of missing infomation in here that is pretty important to look good.
p sure the OP is oversimplified just because if someone wants more info they can post and ask also on long hair being not recommended is simply because you not only have to have the right face, you also need to have the right hair i think if i had better hair for example, it'd look just fine on me, but the way mine works i ended up looking like slash when i was younger and tried growing it out. simply put, it's rare to see people with the right characteristics. also on athletic/running shoes, yeah, they go well when you're doing stuff they're made for, but when you're running laps and shit you probably shouldn't be worrying about looking your best
Just because you won't take my advice doesn't mean I'm trolling, some people here have agreed with what I said http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tall_poppy_syndrome

Tall poppy syndrome (TPS) is a pejorative term primarily used in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other Anglosphere nations to describe a social phenomenon in which people of genuine merit are resented, attacked, cut down, or criticised because their talents or achievements elevate them above or distinguish them from their peers.
yeah no
avoiding athletic/running shoes altogether isn't entirely true nike flyknits and roshe runs are really nice. roshe and flyknit and the great thing is with all the colorways and ability to iD (least im pretty sure you can still idk?) gives you a lot of options to pick somethin you'd like

No running shoes though? That is super dumb considering there are many many athletic people in the world.
yeah, if you're going running, wear some damn running shoes they're a utility clothing piece and should be treated as such, otherwise you'll look like shit (in most cases, some running shoes look ok, like roshes)
There are many different styles that come with fashion: Menwear, prep, streetwear, athletic, gothish etc
if i made an OP that covered all that, do you know how much of a page stretcher that'd be?
ill never understand the aesthetic appeal of running shoes (other than the practical purpose of running in them). they all look atrocious. like dad shoes.
running shoes generally don't have aesthetic appeal, in fact I have never found any type of running shoe very aesthetic until the roshe and flyknits were released this past year those look nothing like what the general dad shoes look like imo. I personally dont know what people see in new balance shoes though

Why DON'T you ban lemonator Rusty It's not like he's something shitty that happened in the past, he's like a regular now he's here all the fucking time God knows you have reasonable grounds for getting rid of him, between that acc and his alt he's been threadshitting for what must be over a year now
because he hasnt broken any rules yet but people are constantly asking me to find a reason to ban him. so maybe he should take that as a hint and buzz off before he messed up :)
idk i think we're pretty rough on lemons sometimes he definitely has his head up his ass in terms of prices and practicality, and he acts like a bit of a snob to people who call him out on it, but he offers some good advice sometimes on higher-level fashion
yes let's ban someone just because we don't like him/agree with his opinions yes let's :^))) [editline]1st September 2013[/editline] if being a bit of a snobby dick was a bannable offence half of facepunch would be perma'd lmao
idk i think we're pretty rough on lemons sometimes he definitely has his head up his ass in terms of prices and practicality, and he acts like a bit of a snob to people who call him out on it, but he offers some good advice sometimes on higher-level fashion
nobody here cares about higher-level fashion, according to Lemonator we're all poverty stricken common scum
because he hasnt broken any rules yet but people are constantly asking me to find a reason to ban him. so maybe he should take that as a hint and buzz off before he messed up :)
Isn't just making an alt for access around a ban bannable? Also threadshitting/causing constant arguments etc Plus he's kind of a bigot and some sort of facist and generally just a little rotter Besides, it was always my understanding that there were rules written only so that people would read them and not do those specific things that they might be accustomed to doing on other forums or boards. The mod team are supposed to keep the peace and sweep troublemakers under the carpet at their discretion - there's no comprehensive list of rules that you're upholding, there's obvious shit like warez and spam but almost all of the community related bans are judgement calls made by those who are supposed to have the most sound judgement of all the regular posters (this is a real easy judgement call, you get me) We'll all be old men by the time lemonator takes a hint, that's for sure
nobody here cares about higher-level fashion, according to Lemonator we're all poverty stricken common scum
there's a few people here who have passing interest in higher-level fashion you don't need to tell me what he's like, i have plenty of experience interacting with him
what you guys need to understand is some people have clothing as one of their main interests and top priority on their spending habits people who are into cars spend thousands on a nice car: acceptable people who are into playing music spend thousands on instruments/gear: acceptable people who play a lot of video games spend thousands on games/hardware: acceptable people who are into fashion/high end clothes and have a wardrobe that costs thousands: WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING YOU HAVE TO BE RETARDED TO WANT NICE CLOTHES HOW STUPID ARE YOU, WE SHOULD BAN YOU FOR LIKING THIS

[editline]1st September 2013[/editline] i totally understand spending a lot of your money on clothes. i am fast heading toward that direction myself. but yours are just plain frivolous and ugly.
what you guys need to understand is some people have clothing as one of their main interests and top priority on their spending habits people who are into cars spend thousands on a nice car: acceptable This makes sense people who are into playing music spend thousands on instruments/gear: acceptable if you shop smart you can get every thing you need in a set up for less than $8000 (my current set up is about $3000 and does more than I really need) people who play a lot of video games spend thousands on games/hardware: acceptable Games do stack up, but yet again, you can get a great computer for >$3000 and you can just shop steam sales people who are into fashion/high end clothes and have a wardrobe that costs thousands: WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING YOU HAVE TO BE RETARDED TO WANT NICE CLOTHES HOW STUPID ARE YOU, WE SHOULD BAN YOU FOR LIKING THIS Think about it this way, how many different outfits do you wear out? Based on rick owens and the prices of other "high end" shit you've posted I'd wager that the price of a full outfit is about $4000 to $5000 for a SINGLE FUCKING OUTFIT, take into account that you'd need at least 2 pairs of different shoes to match different outfits, a couple jackets, a few dozen shirts and quite a few pairs of pants, if you solely shopped high-end you'd spent much, much more money than any of your examples, except maybe cars. Not to mention it looks about the same as clothing you can get for up to and beyond a 20th of the price
