Well first niceness is subjective. Now I don't really care for fashion but I do like to throw a look at the latest collections now and then. I observed that "normal/cheap" clothes are boring. They don't look bad. Just safe. They all look the same. Same cuts, same materials just different colors and prints. High fashion designers actually do experiment with clothing. Which is why high fashion clothes are so polarizing. You can't find most of the experimental high fashion stuff somewhere for less. Unless H&M or Zara decides to rip it off. Still it won't look as good.

i havent seen a single piece of nice looking 'high-fashion' in this thread. i have however seen similar things in stores for a fraction of the price. [editline]1st September 2013[/editline] and it doesn't matter if it's 'ripping it off', it seems like they're doing everyone a service and giving you the same stuff a fashion designer tried to flog you but at an affordable price. serves anyone right who tries to sell you designer stuff that looks basic and bland but also just plain odd at extortionate prices. [editline]1st September 2013[/editline] it really just feels like 'high-fashion' exists solely to rip off and take advantage people who can afford it.
I can understand 'high end fashion' from Zara to Versace. If you are spending higher than Versace you need to check yourself
Jesus are you guys actually fighting about the whole cheap va expensive thing? Who cares if somebody wants to spend lots of money on clothes let them, this is a fashion advice thread not a financial one.
finally! the token "stop fighting guys let people do what they want :(" post [editline]1st September 2013[/editline] also what is frianical what is this moonspeak
You are arguing about HOW a guy spends their money instead of a giving good fashion advice. Sorry for not wanting this thread by shitposted by you because you weep everytime somebody go to a high end store. Anyways for a grooming advice, anybody know a good shampoo and conditional that doesnt dry the shit out of my hair?
You are arguing about HOW a guy spends their money instead of a giving good fashion advice. its more hilarious than it is a problem for me
i think its kinda sad like a hobo that spends all his money on booze
F
i hope you enjoy your thousand dollar slave labored sweatshop rags
If anybody against companies using cheap sweatshop laborers use this: http://www.free2work.org/ Has alot of brands and rate them according to human rights. Just putting it out there. [editline]1st September 2013[/editline]
i think its kinda sad like a hobo that spends all his money on booze
You are comparing a homeless man spending all the little amount of money he has on alcohol to a man who buys expensive clothes he obviously have money for. I'm not saying spending thousands on clothes is the way to go but seriously who cares? Also im kinda curious, lemonnator you wanna post your wardrobe in here?
You are comparing
let me stop you right there, i'm not comparing jack shit besides the way it makes me feel about the person, capisce?
I'm not saying spending thousands on clothes is the way to go but seriously who cares?
this is what you don't understand, nobody cares, people start to get pissed when those individuals spending the exorbitant amounts of money openly look down on us lowly peasants who don't spend like idiots
Sorry for not wanting this thread by shitposted by you because you weep everytime somebody go to a high end store.
Wow listen to Mr august 2013 over here :v:
I think I'm picking up these Nike Sb Eric Koston 2's, thoughts? [t]http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0050/4532/products/nike-sb-koston-2-black-white-9_1024x1024.jpg?43453[/t] I know people might find them "boring" but they're for skating and school. Like three months ago I picked up a pair of these HUFs and I did like six tricks max and they were completely wrecked across the side: [t]http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0050/4532/products/huf-sutter-blue-hawaiian_1024x1024.jpg?43453[/t] [editline] . [/editline] [sp]Never buy canvas shoes if you want to skate them for longer than ten minutes[/sp]
I'm a firm believer in buying quality clothing when you can afford it, and quality clothing is usually expensive, but not everything you need should be expensive, and not everything expensive is quality. Buying $80 underwear or $400 sneakers is pretty ridiculous. With sneakers there is no justification other than being collectable (and then you cant wear them) because $400 sneakers are not going to a better investment because even if they are better constructed than $100 sneakers, they are still going to be made of rubber, plastic, canvas and leather and will wear down at the same rate as cheaper $100 sneakers, and I'm pretty sure someone who spends $400 on sneakers isn't going to be wanting to walk around in worn out shoes even if they were more durable because they would get ratty. So buying $400 sneakers is only to show other people that you bought $400 sneakers, and in my opinion telling people how much you spent on your clothing, directly or inadvertently, is the mark of someone pretty desperate and usually compensating for something. Most of the high fashion stuff posted in this thread has been stuff that has no true justification of price besides the perceived superiority because of price. There is always the rule of diminishing returns with clothing, it is best to find the optimum spot on the curve where you are buying clothing that is quality, looks great, doesn't break the bank and ultimately will achieve the same thing. Past that point you are only competing with other people like yourself, and that's a losing game because there is always someone else with more money, and to someone on the street a well dressed guy is a well dressed guy, looking good doesn't depend on what the tag on the inside of your jacket says, it depends on the materials, the cut, and you're own understanding of style.
As far as quality goes, I am a strong believer in spending and investing money in good denim. I think 100-200+ dollars for a pair of jeans can actually be really worth the price in terms of quality and all that. Of course you can make a cheaper quality jean look just as good with tailoring etc, but like I said I really notice quality while wearing jeans I notice it in shirts and sweatshirts and all that stuff too but to a lesser extent where I feel the money is worth spending. As far shoe spending I go, I'm one of those people guilty of spending 200-300 dollars on a pair of sneakers or nice boots because to me what I wear on my feet is pretty much the most important part of my outfit. With shoes you can argue that you won't get higher quality spending more money, but moreso you're paying for the design imo, not all shoes are the same, and you sure as hell don't want to be paying for a cheap chinese knock off that'll fall apart in a few months
i want long sleeve tshirts with words down the arms. i know its suprem but i want it, and its p cheap supreme wise
I don't understand why plain white leather low-tops are so hard to find under $100.

I've never tried raw denim jeans before, and I know those would be pretty robust, but as far as selvedge, I've not seen a real difference in wear quality myself.
Depends what colorway they use imo the original blue ones that came out in 1997 are the best looking ones. [editline]a[/editline] Matter in fact most of the clean colorways look the best.
Honestly man, I am a massive fan of shoes but foamposites are just ugly. Not even down to the colour, they look like crash test dummy shoes from the 80's
If someone paid $400 for those I'd be pretty disappointed in them.
Actually he would have saved quite a lot of money since these are $1200 new.
Actually he would have saved quite a lot of money since these are $1200 new.
Not worth it They look okay, but like 80$ okay
