What really bothers me about those is when they get those obnoxious all white tux with a gross neon colored vest and bowtie. It's just... euuguhhh.

Same here, nobody wear suits at homecoming and its more of a semi formal thing.
But the closet thing to formal that I ever wore in my life is a polo. So im lacking in that department.
you could have been psy lol
I get that a lot soooo much. With the usual haircut I get, I look more like him.
I'm going to say they're actually rather small, but the perspective's all kinds of screwy in that picture... Does Zenni do the at-home try on thing?

They are definitely comically small d3tbs
honestly its the biggest one ive seen on that site, and its bigger than the ones i have now. Asians usually have wider faces, thats why they end up looking so weird
[editline]21st October 2013[/editline]
check out the glasses of this chink here, theyre not bigger than his face width either

Well I think if you're gonna go with thicker frames they should be nice and big too (also just to compliment your gigantic face)
the hell, since when do you have Gold Mako?
Yeah thing is theres not that many frames designed for asian, the market follows the whites. But i know what you mean
Oh gee I've been boostarred, didn't even notice
Wonderful!
Uhh well my girlfriend is half asian and happens to have crap eyesight, I'll ask her if there's somewhere online she buys frames from if I remember
check out the glasses of this chink here
is this racist? i think this is racist

TOPIC CHANGE:
It's cold. It's almost winter, I live in Tennessee, and it's COLD. My wardrobe isn't fit for this.
So, I'm probably going to go buy some clothes soon. What's the general consensus on flannel? That still a thing? It's warm as heck, I know that from high school.
Also, scarves? Can I wear them and still look like a, albeit slightly flamboyant, heterosexual person? (Not that there's anything wrong with flamboyant people, or an variant thereof, but I try to dress pretty plainly. I will admit to having exploited hipster fashion in the past, but I'd prefer not to talk about that.)

This... Is true. But a good pair of glasses can look great on any face, as long as they fit properly and follow the contours of the face in question. For more rounded structure, such as yours, a Hornrim or Ray-Ban original would probably work pretty well. Alternately, you can go the more traditional route, and get some thick-rimmed rectangular glasses. A lot of the Asian people on my campus wear those.
Just some thoughts. Don't get discouraged; as a slightly overweight white guy, it's just as hard to find a decent pair.
lol what the fuck
lol what the fuck
These are the things I ask myself as I stare into the abyss.
What were we talking about?
Found a pair that is bigger than the other ones, since I think I need bigger ones because of my asian face. Still have to confirm the measurements someday when I get my eyes checked though. But still, do you think these fit me?
Tbh just try and find an opticians and try pairs on there. That's the best way to know if they actually fit properly or not.

flannel is fine, it's very generic but it's not like that really matters. scarves are pretty ehhhhh for me, they only go with a few things and even then, only if you wear them right. if you have or can get a jacket with a nice warm collar, just pop/zip that shit up when it gets cold and it'll function the same and look better.

How formal are we speaking?
Also its getting chilly in Philadelphia and i forgot my camelhair coat at home.
But I do have my sweater-vests!
i wonder who first looked at a camel and thought "imma make a coat out of that shit"
i wonder who first looked at a camel and thought "imma make a coat out of that shit"
"that camel looks smug as shit, imma take him down a notch by taking his coat"
edit:
Also since I am now in walking range of plenty of thrift shops, I expect to find lots of nice pieces to show you all.
Now to find a good tailor.
Tbh just try and find an opticians and try pairs on there. That's the best way to know if they actually fit properly or not.
so basically I was at the opticians a while ago. I said I wanted an exam so that I could get the numbers and all. Basically all he did was the biggest bullshit Ive ever seen. He put me the glasses on, and just tried some different lenses. Then in the end he was like. "Oh yeah youre k" And I ask him if there wasnt some document with the info and all, which I doubt there was since it took literally less than 5 minutes.
But on the other hand I got to try some stuff, and now I am 80% sure that those should fit me

Yeah, find yourself an optometrist. Just... Go do that, then buy glasses.

yeah, trying things out physically is really the best. I wouldn't trust an online thing to predict how it'll look. And my eyes shrink up when my actual lenses get put in, that's the only problem. I remember posting a bunch of glasses on this thread and my eyes were pretty huge.
Yeah, find yourself an optometrist. Just... Go do that, then buy glasses.
I dunno, back home I would get a full exam at the mall for free. Of course they would end up trying to sell you glasses, but they dont charge anything.

Shacks and shirt basically. Maybe a vest?
Shacks and shirt basically. Maybe a vest?
i give a ferm 'ew' to vests
at dances (which are over for me) people wore just t-shirts and pants, stuff like that.
prom was tuxes and prom dresses (duh) one dude wore a dress and danced with his twin brother, it was... disturbing.
Shacks and shirt basically. Maybe a vest?
vests are nope
