You said your waist size is shrinking, if it shrinks too much you might want to consider getting some new pants. Don't try to use a belt to hold up pants that are way too big for you
my trousers aren't falling, they could just do with being a bit firmer around the waist. plus i'm already at spooky scary skeleton town levels of skinniness to begin with, so finding trousers that fit me perfectly fine without a belt would be more hassle than i think is really necessary - and with my Ehlers-Danlos that i've mentioned before, i'm not entirely sure i could really afford to just put on some weight due to the risk of me dislocating a limb.
a little bit of exercise never hurt anybody responsible exercise that is
what is the most versatile belt color if one exists? i don't own any belts as of yet and i've never needed them, but at the rate my waist is shrinking i think you'll have to measure my torso in planck lengths by next month
white

Geez that's horrifying. Sorry you got dealt that hand.
Just looked up Ehlers-Danlos... Geez that's horrifying. Sorry you got dealt that hand.
it's really not that bad in my case. so long as i pay attention to how i walk, the hypermobility basically functions as a good excuse to never play sports and a neat party trick, and since the skin fragility side of it only manifests as stretch marks on my back, stretchy elbow skin and a small amount of weird-looking scar tissue on my left arm, it's pretty much a non-issue. i haven't even dislocated anything yet, but the doctor warns me that it's very possible, so i'd rather not risk it. only thing i can really think of that might screw me over big time is possible osteoarthritis when i'm older, and probably extra wrinkles later on due to a collagen deficiency. on the other hand though it's given me cool creepy piano-playing fingers like Count Orlock, so i can't really complain. [editline]27th October[/editline] also, creepy Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome fingers + anemia = pre-made vampire costume for Halloween, no makeup or prosthesis required
hey at least you won't run the risk of aortic dissection when you're older like me. in fact most type IV patients can't live till 30 without severe life threatening complications piano playing fingers on my part too though lol, i'd consider at least that much a gift
ah yes, i heard suits are in this season
that would be an awesome halloween costume if it weren't (presumably) extremely expensive
Bought this backpack [img_thumb]http://www.evo.com/imgp/1500/65247/325369/herschel-supply-co-settlement-backpack-grey-front.jpg[/img_thumb] It's a bit darker than on the picture. Got it on sale for 35£ The quality is generally good (a few loose threads), but the zipper is pretty awful. Difficult to zip up. There's a few leather pieces on it (the on the zippers and one on the back) which is a nice touch. The golden zipper and brown leather bits go very well with the grey fabric of the bag.
I bought a Herschel backpack a year ago and it's gone through spilled beer, eating shit on skateboard, and concerts without a single hole or stain on it. The only negative side is that over here, everyone has a fucking Herschel backpack and it's getting more popular among the Obey #swag snapback people.
Herschel is okay, but it's one of those things that people buy for the brand. JanSport has some backpacks that look better than Herschel ones. [editline]26th October 2013[/editline] This is unrelated, but I bought myself a blazer off of eBay for like 25 dollars.
i feel like that is self explanatory fedora tier
I feel like it's only fedora tier when you do something outlandish like wear cargo shorts and sandals with a suit.
Herschel is okay, but it's one of those things that people buy for the brand. [/editline] This is unrelated, but I bought myself a blazer off of eBay for like 25 dollars.
I bought the Little America backpack because I really liked how it looked. It has that 1930's feel to it. I was going to buy a randoseru because of it's look, but I decided on a Herschel because I didn't want to look like a japanese elementary schooler, but they do look a bit familiar.
I feel like it's only fedora tier when you do something outlandish like wear cargo shorts and sandals with a suit.
Dressing for the wrong occasion is, well... unfashionable. [editline]26th October 2013[/editline] Those backpacks with leather on the bottom half are probably the best looking ones, in my opinion. Brand doesn't really matter, as long as its of respected quality.
I feel like it's only fedora tier when you do something outlandish like wear cargo shorts and sandals with a suit.
nope casual suit-wearing is fedora tier
I bought a Herschel backpack a year ago and it's gone through spilled beer, eating shit on skateboard, and concerts without a single hole or stain on it. You can usually get them slightly cheaper than Herschels from what I've seen, and mine's gone through just as much and still hasn't got a scratch.
Also, what do you guys think of Ivy League fashion? It's the best comparison to how I dress, although I don't look like such a douchebag. Button downs, knit ties, slim fitting sweaters and cardigans, leather shoes, that stuff. Think Banana Republic and J. Crew. I know a lot of people here lean more towards streetwear, but everyone was putting down suits a while back and I felt that this was worth mentioning. I mean I still wear a tie almost every day and blazers and stuff, but I don't look super formal like some freshman business major or some kid at a bar mitzvah.
This is the fashion I've grown up seeing. I like it, but it isn't for everyone. You have to own it, and be very comfortable in it to even think about pulling it off. (Although I don't wear a tie most days) Also
nope casual suit-wearing is fedora tier
This is true. A suit is your formal wear, unless you are required to wear it on a daily basis. Get one, get it to fit and wear it out when you need it, but do not go wearing it around town just 'cuz omg so randumb its a suit guiz'. No. I like suits, I get it. However the key to wearing them is knowing where it is appropriate and where it is not. If you want a dressy outfit get a blazer and chinos and conservative shirt and tie, if you want semi casual but still neat, get a blazer, jeans, and a more laid back shirt. Or something else that fits. No suit. Not for daily wear. And by god don't ever let me catch you wearing a waistcoat. Also business majors at my school have to wear suits, and they all bought off the rack relaxed fit size up things that they are attempting to hide in. These people billow like black and navy sails in the wind.
imo even just a blazer for casual wear is fedora-tier dad-wear at best
[t]http://www.styleforum.net/content/type/61/id/1014987/width/500/height/1000/flags/LL[/t] this is definitely not dadwear
help me choose the best/nicest iphone case???? [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] cheap
help me choose the best/nicest iphone case???? [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] cheap
Here you go.

Anyway, I just realized I need some new winter shoes, otherwise I'll be dipping my toes into the cold snow bare-naked. And that's a big no-no. Does anybody have an universal tip for acceptable winter footwear?
don't use an iphone case. it's a beautiful phoen.
don't use an iphone case. it's a beautiful phoen.
until you drop it I found out the hard way ;( [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] I actually want one of these iphone cases http://www.mstrpln.com/shop_minimal_sneaker.html#iphone so expensive though
http://society6.com/mstrpln/Minimal-Sneaker-Project--III_iPhone-Case looks like a jordan 3 they're nice, but there's too much branding imo.
http://society6.com/mstrpln/Minimal-Sneaker-Project--III_iPhone-Case looks like a jordan 3 they're nice, but there's too much branding imo.
yeah they're modelled on sneaker patterns (like the Jordan 'Cement' pattern) not actually expensive looking at them now
imo even just a blazer for casual wear is fedora-tier dad-wear at best
nah man, i wanna dress like I can look like a dad but at the same time poor enough to show im a college student.
help me choose the best/nicest iphone case???? [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] cheap
[t]http://www.universalcycles.com/images/products/large/61177.jpg[/t] this is mine it works really well and people are always intrigued by it because of how different it is i believe its called g-form something
I've actually got the Vans one Not a bad case, holds up better than the shoes :v:
i really think it's a massive design flaw that you can't drop your iphone without the screen shattering. it's such a nice phone, but it seems like most people who own it gets a case for it, which completely ruins the design.
its pretty fragile, both the screen and the back of it. everyone says "yeah lol these people should be more careful" but i consider myself to be careful with most stuff and ive still dropped it a couple of times [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] also it sucks that most cases either look like a tank version of the iphone and protect it well or are beautifully designed but will probably break more easily than the phone itself
I don't think I've ever owned a phone I didn't drop at least once. It happens, and should be designed for it.
