I like to try on shoes before I buy them.
This site has some pretty neat stuff in you're in the us www.huckberry.com
fuck I hate members-only sites. Just let me see what they have, damn. Side note, thinking of picking up a pair of these http://www.clarksusa.com/eng/product/desert_boot_men/26078358 Thoughts on colors? Barring the camo boots, of course. [editline]1st November 2013[/editline] ooh those too: http://www.dsw.com/shoe/mercanti+fiorentini+double+monk+slip-on?prodId=287422&brand=300235&activeCats=men,300235&isBrand=y&categoryName=men god help me I don't know how to shop for casual shoes. [editline]1st November 2013[/editline] I think I like the buckled shoes because my motorbike boots also have buckles like that. They're pretty neat.
I buy vans as my regular day shoes, I go to macy's for fancy/general work shoes and then nordstrom for shoes I wear to fancy events that I care if i scuff them etc. 25% wearing vans, going out with friends shopping or to eat or just casual basic stuff. - The current vans I own http://shop.vans.com/catalog/Vans/en_US/style/rqmcnv.html?categoryId=137105&colorCode=RQMBKA 74% wearing fancy/general work shoes for either for my job or for political/community meetings 1% wearing expensive shoes for expensive dinners or fundraisers Probably going to pick up another pair of vans, They are wearing out not because they are shitty but I'm hard on them kicking stuff and etc. For 60 bucks they look good, feel good to walk in and last longer then usual pairs for me.
I have been meaning to pick up a pair to compare them to vans. What stores usually carry Keds? I like to try on shoes before I buy them.
costco has keds for, like, $15 or something
I dunno, I can find knock offs of Vans for 20$ in nearly any shoe store I go thats not a huge chain store

Hey, I end up walking five or six miles a day. If I wore Chucks, I'd wear them out in a week. I think people are missing the whole "college student" thing...
If comfort is really a problem then find some shoes that aren't utterly atrocious but maintain some comfort. Those shoes are hideous and I genuinely feel bad for you for wearing them, do you not get odd looks or anything? I thought you were a regular of this thread? How you've managed to read this thread for x amount of time and not realise that you're wearing the ugliest pair of shoes on the planet I have no idea.
That shit really only applies to this thread. Like in real life, no one gives a fuck! And if they do, they're either a real asshole to go up to someone and tell them "THOSE SHOES ARE FUCKING UGLY!" unless they're your friends that you usually converse ~fAsHun~ with. Having said that, those shoes are still fucking ugly as fuuuuck. But if it's that comfy, i guess wear them?? But I'm p sure there's shoes that are as comfy and aesthetically pleasing.

Maybe it's part of living in the rural south, in one of the least fashion-forward cities in the US, but I sincerely think it isn't. Honestly, I think it may be more likely that most people here put a heavier emphasis on fashion than most people, and there's nothing wrong with that, but it isn't realistic to think everyone holds it to the same calibre as you. I try to look good when the occasion calls for it, but there's a time to be casual. For me, that's most of the time. If I have a speech, or an important event, then sure, I'll shave and throw on a pair of decent shoes. But nobody cares when I don't... Which is, in part, because I'm a college student in the most fashion-backward part of the US. Also, I don't hang around fashion "snobs" all the time. I think spending a lot of time here might serve to magnify your own opinions and views. I forget what they call that, but there's a term for it. Again, nothing wrong with it, but it's important to keep an idea of what goes on outside of here. And I don't have the cash to buy other shoes, so it's not worth worrying about.

Question for you guys: http://www.zappos.com/clarks-desert-mali-boot-beeswax-leather I'm planning on getting these in beeswax leather. There's a promotion where I can get the dark green-soled boots for 20% off, but they definitely don't look as good. Should I bite for the promotion or go for the regular soles?
Theres a reason why theyre on sale. Its because nobody is buying them. So hint hint. Thats unless youre good at matching colors and can make the green soles work for you, in some miraculous way. But if not, then Id go with the normal ones. Id rather be satisfied with something and paying a bit more than being kind of not into what I bought [editline]2nd November 2013[/editline] But again, the green soles aren't thaaaaat bad.
It's not the particular boots that are on sale - I just have a Clarks in-store 20% off coupon, but only Zappos seems to carry the regular soles
So... Have we established I'm both ugly and have no sense of style, then? Let's go about fixing that sense of style, because I'm sure as hell not getting any prettier. You've seen what I look like, what would you recommend I buy for winter wear? I'm actually interested in opinions this time, but let's try to keep it to clothes... I figure I've got a budget of $100, $200 if I stretch it. So tell me, people, what looks good?
