I'm trying to put together what I'm going to wear to this event this coming week. I'm not speaking or anything, just attending, but I am an officer in one of the groups that is putting on the event so I feel like I need to be at least reasonably respectable. The tie is a placeholder, it's a science-themed event so I'm gonna have a Neil Degrasse Tyson tie with planets and galaxies and shit. Wondering about the pants, though. I have light, medium, and dark jeans to choose from. I might not wear these jeans because it's pretty obvious they've been used to crawl around under cars and fix things. Also, there's going to be a woman coming that I've been seeing a bit recently and I'm totally into, so I don't wanna look shitty. Thoughts? oh god facepunch i don't have fashion sense why the fuck do people do this Also, oh my god, why the fuck didn't Dad and I get rid of that shitty wood paneling when we redid the basement ten years ago? It makes this place look 40 years old.
The jeans are REALLY bad. The shoes also but ordinary people who aren't fashion-conscious may not clock them quite as much. Lose the jacket too, it makes you look like you're clinging to the residue of an image which just isn't you; the haircut and general image are too much at odds with a jacket like that. Wearing an open leather (pleather?) jacket over a shirt and tie is really sleazy as well. Plus there's a big gap between your belt and where the jacket ends, which emphasises the poor fit of the jacket and makes you look like Harold high-pants [editline]3rd November 2013[/editline]
[t]http://d17ol771963kd3.cloudfront.net/167802/zo/7-t1_black01.jpg[/t][t]http://images.cdn.bigcartel.com/bigcartel/product_images/123258384/max_h-1000+max_w-1000/8-t1_black02.jpg[/t] [t]http://www.ug-shaft.com/2013_09/shaolintee/2.jpg[/t]
catshit
just to quickly summarise. don't wear those jeans, wear your darker ones if you're going to wear jeans. don't tuck your shirt into your jeans, only do that if you're wearing trousers. if you want to look better, wear trousers and tuck your shirt in wear black/brown smart/dress shoes, don't wear sport shoes with anything apart from sporty attire you will look so much better if you simply swap the jeans with a nicer darker pair or for trousers entirely, and if you swap the shoes.

If it's formal, invest in some fitting dress pants, a blazer, and nice dress shoes. If it's not so formal, but still dressy, lose the leather jacket, get darker, better fitting jeans or chinos/khakis, and casual dress shoes. The shirt looks fine from that image, just make sure the pants match the shirt.

Why all the leather jacket hate? I love this jacket, I've owned it since, like, 2006.

Actually, just buy better shoes in general. Athletic shoes are mostly always hideous. Especially those.
Okay, so black pants or at least much darker pants, and something other than the shoes that I run/mow grass/fix cars/do everything in. That's reasonable criticism. I literally know nothing about any level of clothing beyond casual or physically working. You're talking to a guy who wears jeans, t-shirts and aloha shirts like 350 days of the year.

Get shoes that actually fit the situation. Dress shoes for dressy events, casual shoes/plimsoles for casual outfits, and keep the athletic shoes for the athletics/whatever. I would never wear white athletic shoes that I fix cars and mow grass with in a dress outfit.

You just have to learn what looks good and what doesn't.
You are racist and dumb.
their target demographic is black people. how is that racist the clothes being terrible is a completely separate issue to their demographic. [editline]3rd November 2013[/editline]
i got two shirts today [t]http://d17ol771963kd3.cloudfront.net/167802/zo/7-t1_black01.jpg[/t][t]http://images.cdn.bigcartel.com/bigcartel/product_images/123258384/max_h-1000+max_w-1000/8-t1_black02.jpg[/t] and [t]http://www.ug-shaft.com/2013_09/shaolintee/2.jpg[/t] im a really happy fellow
case in point on the terrible factor
The leather jacket is fine. It just does not work with the outfit at all.
it's ill-fitting and looks incredibly cheap
if you seriously think i'm racist for saying certain clothing brands are primarily worn by (and created for) black people and notlabbet will subsquently look like a tryhard tool in them then you are an idiot
supreme is marketed toward people who like a sort of skater look and have hardons for brand recognition
Bring me up the demographics in the Supreme marketing plan cause I don't think your claim is on point Rusty. He isn't being racist though, who the fuck do you think Air Jordans are marketed for?
it's in the same way mostly asian people were superdry. whether i'm wrong or right it's not racist it's just an observation
supreme is marketed toward people who like a sort of skater look and have hardons for brand recognition
japanese superflat at its finest
Yeah, fucking Supreme isn't marketed towards black people You're wrong and you're also being racist.
alright, whether or not it's marketed toward black people, i think white people look especially fucking dumb in Supreme. black people pull it off much much better, but i still think their clothes are horrifically bad. [editline]3rd November 2013[/editline] anyone who buys anything with a giant logo sprawled across it is an idiot and looks like a tool.
you can't pull it off as an "opinion" you are just fucking racist
Is it racist to market toward a certain demographic? All clothes should be marketed to all genders, sexual orientation, age, and even if youre fat as fuck. [sp]no[/sp]
you can't pull it off as an "opinion" you are just fucking racist
you are just being defensive because you bought a bunch of terrible clothes at exorbitant prices and i said i hated them. theres literally nothing racist about what i said. different things can have different race demographics, and just because i was wrong (in ur opinion) about the demo, doesn't mean it is a racist comment, just a wrong one. [editline]3rd November 2013[/editline] i submit i could have the wrong idea about supreme being for black people, but that changes absolutely nothing in terms of how it looks on you or anybody else (supremely terrible)

you kinda need to spend large amounts of money to get a pair of decent boots that'll actually last, it's not like canvas shoes where a $6 pair lasts as longs as a $60 - $70 pair
but nothing i buy has a giant logo on it. because that looks terrible.
what you wear makes me want to vomit and the point is...?
