I'm in Western Australia and to me it seems that the people that wear supreme and all those sort of streetwear brands are mainly asian.
[editline]3rd November 2013[/editline]
but most guys over here wear the bintang logo tank tops they got in bali and some K-mart boardies anyway, so WA isn't the best place to use as an example of any sort of style :v:
i'm in Perth & I mainly see whites wearing Supreme/Street wear lol
there's actually some p. good fashion scenes in WA you just have to know where to go. I went to a club the other week & there were some people there pulling off the full goth ninja look, & I'd say the majority of people there were fairly well dressed
you're going to see unfashionable turbos everywhere tho I guess lmao
[editline]3rd November 2013[/editline]
not to mention there's some p. great local streetwear brands here e.g StreetX & Highs & Lows
nice one bud
just because a shitty graphics tee has the supreme logo on it doesn't make it any less of a shitty graphics tee

what part of Perth you talking about?
[editline]3rd November 2013[/editline]
usually the ratio of well-dressed guys to meh is around 1 in 30/40, near universities that improves to around 1 in 5 thanks to all the twenty-something year-olds who are well-dressed and improve to fly as fuck when they're going down to the rosemount to see some indie bands from the local scene and shit.

Fremantle can be pretty decent but it's mainly preppy sportswear, around the centre of Perth/Art district of Northbridge you'll usually see quite a few well dressed people tho. idk maybe it's just the people I hang out with/places I go
[editline]3rd November 2013[/editline]
but then again I'm talking about streetwear so idk if you're not a fan of streetwear I can see where you're coming from lol
also really digging the new raised by wolves 5 panels but they're a p. thick material so not sure how suitable they would be for summer

I'm more in the north perth area when I'm out, also I don't go to the city much so that would explain it. I don't mind streetwear, to me most white guys who try to do it end up borrowing too heavily from the hip-hop side of things and look ridiculous, but I've seen some work it really well.
the typography adds nothing to the shirt. and the pants look like pajama pants.
i'm not gonna buy the pants...
lol because he likes it
whether or not something is or isnt awful is completely subjective, i dont think you understand this
What's the point of this thread then, if you can just say "yeah but i like it its all that matters!!" when someone criticizes your choice of outfit?
[editline]3rd November 2013[/editline]
supreme is worn mostly by hipsters and ~~ug~~ people here i.e. people you really just want to punch
also the two shirts are pretty much the ugliest i've ever seen tbh
i got two shirts today

oh my god you are utterly hopeless, I don't think you understand: you don't look "edgy" or "different" by wearing knock-off hideous t-shirts and nobody but you is finding them humorous you just look like you're trying really hard to be a hipster
and what's best is that you won't even consider any of the advice that several people in here have given to you, you continue to go to charity shops and buy the most godawful shit in there (shit that's in there for a reason)
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/doWc0AJ.png?1[/thumb]
what is your point
I'm trying to put together what I'm going to wear to this event this coming week. I'm not speaking or anything, just attending, but I am an officer in one of the groups that is putting on the event so I feel like I need to be at least reasonably respectable. The tie is a placeholder, it's a science-themed event so I'm gonna have a Neil Degrasse Tyson tie with planets and galaxies and shit.
Wondering about the pants, though. I have light, medium, and dark jeans to choose from. I might not wear these jeans because it's pretty obvious they've been used to crawl around under cars and fix things. Also, there's going to be a woman coming that I've been seeing a bit recently and I'm totally into, so I don't wanna look shitty.
Thoughts? oh god facepunch i don't have fashion sense why the fuck do people do this
Also, oh my god, why the fuck didn't Dad and I get rid of that shitty wood paneling when we redid the basement ten years ago? It makes this place look 40 years old.
ditch the walmart jeans and just get some sort of cheap trousers, around here you can pick up some regular dress trousers for like less than £20 - along with some nice dress shoes that you can also get for around the same price you're going to look a lot more professional for your speech or whatever it is. the jacket is probably fine as long as you don't wear it throughout the whole event, take it off when you're indoors or whatever
at the moment you look like my dad in the 90's and that's not something you should aspire to be
i'm literally wearing a shirt, jeans, and a jacket.
and it doesn't look bad apart from my hair. it's like one of the simplest outfits out there.

i'd say that you too look like my dad but more ~2004 which again isn't something you should aspire to be

go back to reddit or 4chan whatever this "mfa" is you keep citing because the people in this thread obviously have completely different ideas to what you've been taught there and personally i'd rather you gave shitty advice elsewhere

if you come into a fashion thread seeking advice then be prepared to actually accept advice and not freak out and go "omg ur wrong!!"
[editline]3rd November 2013[/editline]
see? i can do it too. this thread's mentality is retarded. a collective of you think that just because you say you're right about something, you are.
(that's not how it works, obviously. but welcome to facepunch. what the fuck are you gonna do about it?)
yeah but to be fair that blazer jeans shirt combo is pretty shit and doesn't really help anyone value your opinion on dressing well
if you come into a fashion thread seeking advice then be prepared to actually accept advice and not freak out and go "omg ur wrong!!"

ok, whatever.

Post pics and let me see if I deem you worthy of giving me advice
??
yeah but to be fair that blazer jeans shirt combo is pretty shit
it looks fine in person, i'm just not that photogenic.
and you know, just because i dress stereotypical "dadcore" doesn't mean i'm bad at dressing
whatever point Lord of Ears tried making was fucking retarded
menswear is fine, streetwear is fine, gothninja is fine, whatever the fuck else is fine. there are so many different sects of fashion, and just because you follow one - doesn't mean you have to hate the others.
a concept that seems hard to grasp here.
yes it's perfectly fine to want to dress like a skater and it's perfectly fine to dress more maturely however the majority of us (bar rusty) will try to look at things from different points of view
i might not like what Angoose and Lord of Ears wear but i still know what streetwear stuff looks good and bad, just like i know that you wearing a shirt and blazer like that looks bad
i don't have to have a degree in blazer/jeans fashion to know this
im sorry dude but it looks pretty bad, i dont buy 'it looks better in person' for one second.

i know the outfit wasn't great but it wasn't as terrible as this thread is making it out to be either. the worst thing about it is my hair and the sunglasses.
yes, in my opinion pants/chinos would look better with a blazer, but i don't own a pair, and also, in my opinion, jeans look fine as well, for the time being.
i like stayclassicblog's style of menswear, fucking sue me.

But the whole point of this thread is to dress so that you look good. Gothninja or whatever doesn't look good
Jesus what happened. The both of you should stop because this discussion will end up no further than where it started
im sorry dude but it looks pretty bad, i dont buy 'it looks better in person' for one second.
alright. yes, that outfit is bad. the picture is bad. it's shit. i can dress better than that, though - and the blazer is fine.
on its own. if i were to wear it with a different outfit, it would look better.
but i'm not trying to argue that that picture looks good. i'm just trying to save face that i don't always look like such a fucking idiot.
it's kind of humiliating when you upload a bad picture to the internet and expect people to ignore its flaws.

it will stop when people stop literally mocking me
it's not a pleasant experience, and i'm not gonna just sit back and take it because the OP says i'm supposed to
i'm not ignorant about fashion. it's just that... 100% of the pictures i've posted here have been bad. (1)
there is a massive difference between you and stayclassic

i know. his style is what i'm aiming for, though. even if i haven't achieved it yet.

I love these shoes but I don't know if I could justfiy spending $150 on them.
Does anyone know if I can get them cheaper in Australia?

i would say no. try getting some converse jack purcells or just regular old chuck taylors instead.
as sad as it is, the logo of those converse isn't as iconic as the one you'll find on other pairs.

But pretty much nobody wears Rick unless they're going with their fellow goofninja friends to a fashion event or something like that??
This thread is mostly for casual, everyday fashion, and that stuff doesn't fit in here
neither does most of the stuff on sites like Lookbook (which is why it is looked down upon here), a lot of the clothes people 'wear' there are used exclusively for photos
