Fix Up! Look Sharp v9: Winged shoes don't make you look fly

i think cardigans can work well for layering but its harder to make one look good by itself
I bought two cardigans at the beginning of the season at H&M, a black and grey one. I get a lot of use out of them, they are very versatile and simple, and I have had plenty of compliments. I feel they look nice on me, I'm tall, and they are nicely fitting and tight. I strongly dislike big floppy over-sized cardigans that you mainly see people wearing though, my roommate wears them, and buys them by the cart full from goodwill and It just looks like he's swimming in old man cardigans most of the time.

I guess we're alone on that, then.

What kind of cardigans are we talking about here? If you own this sort of thing (quick Google search, probably a bad example - keep in mind that this still looks horrible without the odd stripe around the arm):

I personally would recommend disowning them
They are just simple solid cardigans, no nonsense. I nearly never button them up.

By black and grey, I meant a black one and a grey one.
Eh I'll let some other people post their opinions but I'm really not a fan of them, they just look odd, often are oddly fitting, and generally just don't add anything to an outfit

Excuse the garbage picture, my bedroom overhead lighting casts some shadows at night.
I don't particularly like them buttoned up, the same as I don't like buttoning up my flannels most of the time. I think they are a good addition taking the place of a hooded sweatshirt or long sleeve shirt from time to time. Same with the sleeves, I tend to roll my sleeves up most of the time in any shirt.

My pants fit fine. And my shirt isn't tucked in, it's just resting on the belt buckle.

ugh finding a leather jacket I like in the ~$200 dollar range is hard to find
I think I might have to raise my budget if I want something I like and really good quality
open to suggestions if anyone has any

I'm saving for a Schott leather jacket myself. I figure it's one of those things that you should try and get the best you can, even if it means putting it off for a few months.
i still want kurt russell's schott jacket
anyone got any leads on any not too expensive winter jackets (maybe a down jacket or something else) with contrasting yokes?
i like these but of course theyre 3-400

what do you guys think of "vintage" shirts? I decided to have a look on the asos marketplace and these two seem pretty cool imo.

edit and another

The bottom one is bit too neon. I have a "vintage" shirt that I love but it's white and turquoise, a light, relaxing color mix. The bottom one is just a bit harsh on the eyes.
The top one is a little to active? Idk how to put it.
I like the top one, the bottom one is pretty ugly, like someone tried to combine tie-dye and tartan.
yeah, after a second look I actually see what you're getting at with the second one
the weirdest thing about those is how the models are wearing them
Whats up with rolling up the sleeves like that? Looks awkward...
The way the sleeves are rolled on the first one is fine but the others look a bit odd, like they've been bunched up too much rather than just being folded over
yeah the models on the asos marketplace are nearly as bad as the digital H&M ones
ooooooh theyre rolling up short sleeved shirts.
I dont really think it looks good. Long sleeves rolled to elbow lenght still win to me
What is with the new fad for buttoning the top button on shirts? It makes it look so awkward and feels uncomfortable too.
